Goke7: All these we don't deserve to qualify is not the issue, FIFA is the one to make their decision, and meanwhile, if it's in our favour, you still have play-offs to play, which is still not a guarantee you'll win, or do you think the same Eagles can't fumble against those Caribbean or oceanian teams?
Let's be real, most people on this thread, including those wishing we don't go to the World Cup or deserve to go, will rejoice if the decision goes our way, make we stop all the pretense jor We go too rejoice if the thing favour us , we kan qualify but d question is , will d petition be worthy for fifa to consider? |

Secondly, whatever happens at the end of this whole drama won't change the fact that we don't deserve to qualify for the World Cup anyway.
If we somehow qualify by magic, cool. But it doesn't detract from my point. But come to think of it..if it’s true ,aw can a team Field a whole 6ix ineligible players ? Aw come? I don’t want to believe it’s deliberate. There’s a miscommunication somewhere…6ix is too much if true |

QueenJazz: Heard about it too. Such a stupid protest from Nigeria and Cameroon.
First of all, I don't believe FIFA will be willing to risk having any more drama and upsetting an entire country and possibly an entire continent by throwing DRC under the bus to favor Nigeria.
They're already dealing with so much backlash for the World Cup draw. You know how the average soccer fans think. Penalizing DRC by disqualifying will be perceived as nothing more than corruption to favor Nigeria. I won't be surprised if they just fine them and move on with their lives.
Also, aren't we ashamed that we keep trying desperately to find these backdoors to a tournament we didn't deserve to qualify for? This whole thing is pointless if you ask me. Count your losses and rebuild yourself. We need to stop this disgusting habit of looking for short cuts everywhere. Plot twist ….i heard it’s even fifa dt is given Nigeria d hand 🖐️ (back door information) behind d scene to protest 🤣🤣🤣🤣, fifa wants Nigeria 🇳🇬 |

Amedino99: While we can agree that previous complete squads were unable to perform, nobody should please justify why fago, usman muhammed are good fits for the afcon squad. We will accept them like that but make una no whine us on something wey we sabi. If you look accross the 56 man preliminary team you will surely be able to pick better replacements for them but it has happened and we will go with it. Nobody is justifying their inclusion. We all know they made the list through NFF connections ,the highest bidder via agents. But claiming that failing to select players A, B, or C automatically means we will fail in the competition is misleading. The reality is that when those same players were available, they couldn’t produce exceptional results against lower-rated teams during the World Cup qualifiers. therefore no guarantee that their inclusion would suddenly translate into outstanding performances at AFCON. |

Sarsaparilla524: I gat nothing to hope for this team. After Eric Chelle said he was monitoring up to 800 players, only for them to release this shambolic list. Before AFCON 2013, I was confident with the team that the late Stephen Keshi, the big boss, had assembled. A perfect blend of foreign and local players that defied all odds and won us our 3rd AFCON.
Meritocracy over Mediocrity.... Baba name d player that is meant to be dere ,dt is not in d list or u keep quiet 🤫…u just Dey talk since like say we leave one messi kind of player behind |

Bossoflife25: In my opinion, selecting Usman for the 28-man team is an excellent gamble.
As noted previously, we currently lack a dedicated Creative Attacking Midfielder (CAM). Usman possesses the potential to deliver a major surprise, much like Sunday Mba did in the 2013 tournament! This is the African Cup of Nations, not the World Cup.
On Fago When I watched this young man at the Under-20 level, his technique was simply amazing. His first touch, pace, and ability to use both the left and right foot suggest he has it all. He is a center-forward who can effectively play across the entire forward line. For a 28-man roster, I would definitely back him.
We already have several players in the team with similar profiles to the likes of Alhassan, Otele, and Tolu.
Consider where players from teams like Comoros or Tanzania are currently playing. Being signed to a top European club does not automatically make one the best, just as playing for a lesser-known club does not make a player poor. If a player possesses the required qualities, I would bet on them, same way Stephen Keshi bravely backed Mba and Obaboana years ago.
Again, adding or removing Tolu, Otele, or Alhassan will neither significantly improve our chances nor prevent us from winning AFCON. Let's prioritize unique skill sets and potential impact. It’s over 12hrs now d list has been released and we av asked those tagging d list as been “poor” to mention the players that would have brightened our chances in the afcon..Dey re yet to reply Ok I think one mentioned Peter agba and Chrisantus Uche ….lol ,players dt have never played d competition |

NasirIbnLaAhad: The discourse here is becoming trite and inane. Why are we excusing the fact that there were better options to pick from in the preliminary list than people like Usman Muhammad for instance? Yes, even our best players can be rubbish and useless at times, but is that reasonable cause for us to go and call plumbers from only God knows where? How do you guys even reason things in this country?
Okay fine, our best players flopped at the qualifiers and we need fresh legs. Are you going to foolishly tell me that Usman Muhammad is a better option than Chrisantus Uche or even Peter Agba? We know that these guys have the capacity to at least match up with the current squad, even if they won't surpass them. What is Usman Muhammad going to do at AFCON besides drag us back in overall quality? Sometimes you guys need to use your head!!! Our main stars underperforming is no justification to go and call carpenters into the squad! As bad as the preliminary list was, we had better options! How is Salim Fago making the list ahead of people like Rafiu Durosinmi and Philip Otele? I'm not saying Durosinmi is going to be a game changer but he'll at least be on par with what we have and not a downgrade!!!
This is a poor, poor list! Let's tell ourselves the truth. Eric Chelle allowed NFF to use his head and I will feel no remorse for him after they dump him if this team doesn't perform well. When the chips are down, its the same NFF that forced players on you who will throw you under the bus. They are owing you money, now you're letting them influence your list!
Rubbish national team with rubbish coaches, rubbish admin, rubbish journalists and rubbish fans. Go to AFCON and fail as usual. It's only club football that interests me right now. The Peter agba ,Christantus uche u mentioned are just players u wish to c in d list but u were disappointed Dey were not included,d fact still remains dt . Even if the so-called big names were included, there’s no guarantee they would get to semis let alone of win us the AFCON title." |

JohnBullMySon: Nah I disagree. It won't happen. So he should leave his first choice position in the Serie A and sit on the bench throughout AFCON. Maduka is good enough to be exchanging gametime with Nwabali. Someone that can even make Germany's squad list at this point. So asking for gametime is not out of place.
Chelle is a shtty coach anyways so he won't be there for long. The kind of coach that will substitute a player in and substitute them out. Wetin make am shitty 🙄 |

You do realize that as it stands, if anything should happen to Nwabali at the tournament, we're going home immediately? I expect him to be heavily targeted by opposing teams. From what I have read so far …it was okoye dt excused himself if he can’t be guaranteed a starting spot |

Austin Eguavoen did not play him, Jose Poseiro did not play him, and Eric Chelle is not playing him. They can't be all wrong.
