My dear, they can. I had the experience. If they can't, they would direct you on what to do.
At this point, your pay slip is inconsiquential. once you show your ID card (Amaechi teachers) with Master grade 2, they know that you are previously either L8/3, 8/4 or 8/5 and the know that your level must be currently 12.
Then in their computer there and bank statement they will see your former pay. Hence, know where you supposed to be.
However, things might have changed by now. It's good that people involved have made some moves and the discrepancies and errors have been made known to those who made them so that it won't sound greek to them when people come for their corrections.

Two months is ok but the bone of contention is the recent payment (ie) current salary own.

Proceed to Ministry of finance asap with your bank statement and ID card for it to be corrected if not that would remain your pay.

Listen carefully. those of you that were under paid please as a matter of urgency proceed to Ministry of finance with your bank statement, ID card (either to room 209 or 217) lay your complain and your case would be sorted out and the arreas of this particular discrepancy would be paid to you in dues course.
Don't go to your schools board as they will tell you to go home that they would do something about it and that ends it but won't do anything.
Do as I said so that you won't end up receiving this error of salary for the rest of this L12.
It happened to me when we started this job newly and that was how I sorted mine speedily and was glad I did.

Meanwhile, some UBE teachers here are withholding the information about the exact amount they were receiving and the one they were currently paid. This is childish. Please open up now so that the anomaly can be tackled head on “ As e dey hot”. No one here is after your money. Haba!

After series of meetings with government and our employers..
We have gotten the final rundown of our promotions..

It was a 3 step promotion, meaning that if you were in level 8, you will be promoted to level 12, if in level 9, you are promoted to level 13.

UBE BOARD promoted a total of 15,800 staffs while secondary schools board promoted a total of 7202 staffs...

All done and signed..

So if payments don't come this month due to the formation of secondary schools board,it will be surely paid next month being September...

Let's be positive.

bro you missed the keyword NEARLY double

The difference with regards to level 8 pension deduction amounting to double with level 12 pension deduction as written here is insignificant. It's about 25 naira and something kobo. My pension deduction is 4236.61 ( L8 S4) monthly.

This move is long over due, it's high time we let those bunch of old teachers in the name of NUT officials that we are the 21st century and cutting age teachers and never analogue teachers as it were before by holding them accountable. This would be a make or mar movement in the history of NUT not only in Rivers State but in Nigeria at large.

You people are saying what you don't know here.The acting Chairman has right to endorse all documents as far as SSSB is concerned.The truth of the matter is that the promotion letters are moving in batches to ascertain the correct amount to be paid.The arrears of the promotion are dated back to June and so if you get yours by next Month,you will be your arrears of salary.Th UBEB will get their promotion letters next week and their arrears Will be paid too.The SSSB will get theirs next month.

But what's SSSB problems

The SSSB problem is that no substantive chairman. However, it's the government via commissioner for education will constitute the board committee for us. I wonder why an acting chairman can't do so because whoever that acts on such capacity is deemed to sign all signables as substantive head should have signed. Therefore, the government is holding both the yam and knife, she decides when to cut the yam and give to us.

This info is for UBE only as I don't know about ours in SSSB.
Your promotion letters were ready since last month but what kept yours from being issued to you was because they erroneously gave our immediate senior grade level 12 instead of grade level 14. Due to that error their board chairman asked them to go back and redo it. They're almost done with it.
Meanwhile a friend of mine who has long legs has seen his own letters still in soft copy.
UBE just exercise small patience you shall get yours soonest. That's The latest.

God can break the protocol and make the Governor pay us our promotion salary including its arrears without promotion letters.
There's nothing God cannot do, if it pleases him to do so. Don't forget that the heart of the king is in his hands and he turns and toils with it any how he likes.
Hence, as Jesus said. “With men it's impossible but with God all things are possible".
I am a Christian and I practice my faith in all situation including this one.
When we were employed there was no substantive board chairman but our appointment letters were issued to us by an acting chairman which were later retrieved from us and new one issued to us by a constituted board chairman which I guess was against the norm (Protocol broken because of us). Such can still happen again for our own good.

The information I got just now was that those in account section of our boards inflated our number which reflected on our wage bill to a crazy extent. Thus, prompted the halt of the promotion exercise.

I was told by someone who works in the ministry of education that it will get to us.
according to her it's done in batches.
The person was given 5 promotions at a go. That's from level 8 to level 14.
