The past past presidents didn't do it because they understood the risks involved and didn't want any of it. The Nigerian economy is very unpredictable because of sabotage by citizens. We have massive oil theft going on, the petrol subsidy was alleged to be misused by those that were never apprehended and prosecuted. If the Naira is allowed to float freely there is a possibility that powerful Nigerians could find a way to manipulate the market and cause the Naira to free fall.
Call a spade a spade. For how long are we going to keep cowering because some powerful men can do and undo? From generation to generation?

He that removed it, I am sure knew about all this problems, loopholes and will tackle it with time. We can't keep succumbing to what's not healthy simply coz we feel some persons can do and undo na.

No one is above the law, with time this quote will become a reality even in Nigeria as we see and hear of it in Abroad

Abeg make we rest. He is president, we should all support him and hope he does what benefit the masses.

The so called Messiah we are hoping on, won't go in there and do magic. If it were that easy, they say charity begins at home, how is his home state, the same one he governed? We should take a break from all these unnecessary hate and wishing the country fails so we could blame the president.

I think I'm going to like this. Hearing directly from the buffaloes who have successfully navigated the nigerian business jungles of lions, tigers and marauding hyenas.

Aside from the hindering factors of business growth such as high running cost, multiple taxation, insecurity etc...., the employees you are paying salaries to are always looking for the slightest opportunity to defraud you.

We have loads of corrupt individuals in Nigeria and they will be the first to complain about the government forgetting that ppl in the government are from among Nigerians.

Again, I want to advise nigerian entrepreneurs that we grow....we don't become billionaires overnight. They go start one POS business and start living beyond sustenance....collecting one load to the other to maintain lifestyles and not to grow their businesses....everybody wan chill with the big boyz...
God bless you for this

Permit me to derail from the topic a little.

I am not a fan of The current president but if you think there is any messiah anywhere that will come and perform magic, you are just being comical, sarcastic and not being truthful to yourself.

So far, all what the president has done are the right calls any individual with genuine interest of moving the country positively forward would have done.

Back to the topic, it's such a shame that we had to borrow to pay subsidy that's absurd and what a lot of people don't understand is, those who it benefits the most are the rich who can afford even if petrol goes to 1k per litre. Example is, your lunch money is 1500 daily, then I choose to be given you 1k so you could add 500 to it to buy your lunch daily, now I am broke and can't keep up with that, instead of coming out to tell you the reality on ground so u could carry your cross, I choose to start taking loan from loan apps so I can keep giving you the 1k to complete your lunch money (do you see how dumb it sounds?) it is same thing with subsidy. Its total removal is the best way to go.

My advice is we should work on fixing electricity in the country and I think the president already working on that through the new electricity bill he signed, once we have stable light in the country, living only motorists being the one to look for fuel, supply will become excess thereby possibly leading to decline in price.

Also, we hope to see more of cars switch from petrol to using CNG.

I do not in anyway support him but aren't almost all Nigerians corrupt? Na SUG president dem give someone some year ago wey e milk everywhere dry. Look when Boris Johnson said Nigerians are fantastically corrupt, he didn't make a mistake saying that.

Until we have a very harsh Law in place that punish any individual caught and found guilty in any corruption case and punished maybe like it is done in China, corruption won't ever end in Nigeria.

How can someone with billions of Naira corruption case, tried, found guilty and be asked to return some couple of millions and a two years jail term and you think others won't do the same? That's just a slap on the wrist

When tinubu reverses $1 to 200,
When the well-being of Nigerians improve to that of Americans,
When the price of a litre of fuel is sold at at least a #100 per litre,
When a bag of rice is reversed back to #20k,
When a bag of Dangote Cement is reversed back to #1500,
When tinubu grant licences to modular refineries operations in the Niger Delta,
I will give him a pass mark.
Will your candidate have been able to do all this in a tenure?

Let's be realistic na. Even Canada that's an oil producing country, her citizens buy petrol close to a thousand naira per litre.

Whoever it is that goes into presidency won't do magic.

Its obvious this useless apps are observing our comments/analysis on different platforms. We woke up to an increase in airport fare here in Abuja. From N6100 to N7,200 now N9,600 for kubwa to airport.

Even the apps themselves know the prices are poor. Yet some drivers still think they’re making profits. 😆

Anyways they’re just few nairas to balance the 176% increment. They should continue increasing it.
Hello boss. Good day. Abeg I don't know if it's possible to send you a DM or WhatsApp. An Abuja newbie driver needs some tips pls

This is my perception of time Viz distance.
Lekki to airport, free road, 45 mins to 1hr for 8 to 10k is a good deal. Long distance, short time, free road. Your car should do that trip at optimum efficiency, about 4 litres.
Short time trips usually translate to free roads. If I see a 5km trip for 20 minutes I'll reject it because that's not efficient use of that time.
In the mornings I can blow empty from VI to chisco or Osapa to get a trip back to vi, it usually takes about 10 minutes but the distance is about 9km.
On Sundays you will see long 6km pickup but time is 5 minutes. E get why.
Since Sunday i haven't bought topped up with more than 20k on any day. It's not as far fetched as people make it seem.
If you sincerely want to optimize, keep an open mind and a positive mindset. It works wonders.
Your last sentence is the real deal every beginner needs. Thank you boss, I will stay positive as they say positive thoughts attract positive energy.

Thanks once again.

Here in Lagos, shorter trips cost more than longer ones. Study how the fares in Abuja are and calculate how much you make in one hr compared to 15 - 30 mins
I feel so privileged to have you replied me, thanks boss.

Pls when you say shorter trips cost more than longer trips, do you mean shorter trips pay more (is more profitable for driver than longer trips)?

Also, what's your advice regarding using of bolt app? As that's the only app I use.

Bought fuel 10k (20Ltr) yesterday.
I rolled out @past 11 and got my first trip before 11:30am.
Grossed = 35k (excluding extra charges of 3.2k).
Fuel still remains that could get me more income. I could easily have made extra 10k without even sweating, but once I hit that 35k, I lost appetite to do more work. I no like putting strength in week days work, except weekends. cool
It's very obvious that 10k fuel equal to 35k gross on weekdays for me (which is very, very satisfying for me oooh).
I think I'm okay like that.
But on a serious note, indrive really needs to increase their fare. I was seeing different trips of 1hr 30 mins and prices were btw 4.5k & below 6k. Who does that?
The era of these kinda prices should have gone with the past fuel price.
I just hope change-in-fare hits indrive before this month end. Cos e no make sense, seriously.
I got notification from bolt with the changes they've made in base fare in reaction to the fuel subsidy removal. Though I ain't coming back to them grin, but that's the way to go.
Much respect, bosses.

Good day sir.

I love this as it rekindle my hope though I am in Abuja and just started last week before the subsidy removal, now with subsidy gone and fuel at 537, it made me to lose interest as it seem i cannot make any profit, but reading your post is motivating me.

Pls quick one, did you use bolt to gross the 35k? If no, pls which app did you use?

Were all the trips online or there were some offline trips included?

I humbly crave for your reply sir.
Thanks in anticipation

Corolla 2010....did 22.3miles per gallon and 141 miles altogether
Morning my ogar, pls I need your advice.
I just started last week in Abuja before the president announced subsidy removal. I was given a Toyota Camry with a weekly remittance of 25k.

With this fuel surge, I will need 38k to full the tank of the Camry, my question is, can you pls help with an approximate estimate of how many KM I will have to cover before the full tank finishes? I use only Bolt app, do you think I can make the 38k of fuel, 25k remittance then some profit for myself before the fuel get exhausted?

Pls I'd humbly anticipate your response and that of other experienced drivers on this forum.

Thanks.

After reading the back and forth of this thread, I decided to test the waters too. Bought fuel 20k (27k might fill up because I had some fuel). I started 7am and ended 7pm but drove empty from island to mainland because I was tired (I didn't eat anything all through) and didn't feel like having company

Gross;
Indrive.....4500. (net 4050)
Uber......5800. (Net 4600)
Bolt.....43400 (net 33066)

Total net is 41650. Fuel guage was between ¾ and half. I have top up again with 16k bring net to 25600.

The fuel issue is draining but e no bad like how we dey see am...the economy touch everybody no mean say we go wait for tinubu to come feed us. Who no go no go know.
Like your positivity. Dem kuku use negativity talks here almost made me return car go give egbon wey give me car grin
