zaynie: The new and simple method used to teach kids to read, spell and write very well using sounds. Most schools use it but unfortunately moms don't know what it's about and can't help their kids from home using it. Ok. I just missed this opportunity o, DS will be 24 months old next month, He doesn't talk yet, when we grow more, we will apply for the jolly phonics. Thanks Ma |

Godmother for the Rota vaccine, I don't know if some general hospital administer it but where I stay, they don't even mention it because it's not free. For the runny stool, pls change hospital, a test should be conducted and proper treatment should be done since she is weak already.
Mama's, pls let's not stay relaxed with stooling (diarrhoea) and vomiting, change Dr/hosp. immediately you notice the treatment is not working to avoid stories that touches the heart. Today is exactly one week my Hubby's Bro lost his 11 month old son to diarrhoea and vomiting. It started suddenly and within 5 days it had claimed his life. My prayers "may we never bury our children in Jesus name, amen". |

B.S. After my post on the 20th of september, I had to go to the hospital. The Dr checked me to know if I was in Labour but it was just false labour, malaria test was done and it was found in my blood +1, that was how treatment began o and after 3 days I got better. FF to 28th Sept, the contractions became regular for about 3 hours and then it stopped, I kept having such till 30th when it became more intense and I began timing the contraction. By night time I couldn't sleep and so I remained awake all night pulling my hair and squeezing my eyes shut with each contraction lol. Sunday morning which was 1st Oct, I told DH to take me to a clinic close by so that the nurses their will check me, on getting to the clinic the nurse checked and said I was fully dilated that I should stay there and birth my baby but I said no, I registered at a General hospital. That was how we rushed to the hospital and in less than 30 mins I had my baby, she weighed 3.5kg with little tear which has healed. I didn't stay more than 1hr in the hospital, I was discharged. Abeg I no sabi write story o, just manage my gist Cappo Pweetiebabe birth story submitted back to vigilante. Team October for supernatural deliveries. |

Amhappy: My 15month old is having this cough that goes and come. We have been to a ped twice, taken ampiclox and erythromycin. And the cough is back. She's not coughing up anything. I am now using honey and diluted lemon juice, warm water ,palm kernel oil etc. Tomorrow i will take her back to the doctor but i don't want another antibiotic. What else works for cough? Try to rule out allergy, for my son once he eats groundnut he coughs a lot and it doesn't go even after taking oral/i.v antibiotics. It had to be treated with allergy meds when he was properly examined. |

eksbabe: Hello mamas, please i have come again oo. Sometime ago i mentioned that my son spits out alot and some mamas here told me to burp him between feeds and hold him upright afterwards for some mins before putting him down. Well i have tried it but he still keeps spitting out. Thing is he can go a week without spitting out so much and the next week he is back at it. He doesnt eat much at a time, could spend about 5/10 minutes and he is okay, so i dont think he is being overfed. He is gaining weight, weighed 3.4kg and 6kg at 10 weeks. The spit out often comes with a burp and sometimes i just see it trickle down from his mouth. It gets much sometimes that it can get to the floor while he is on my shoulder. It is not forceful and he doesnt cry afterwards. I have spoken to my doctor about it but she thinks it is normal and he will stop wih time. I have even tried formula to rule out my breastmilk being the issue but he still spat out some of it Please mamas is this normal? I have to change bibs like 3 times a day which is not a problem when i am at home but it can be a lil embarassing when we go out. What can i do again please? It's normal with some babies o, my son had same issue but it stopped around 6-7 months, the only thing I did different was "not tightening his diaper and reducing pressure around his belly". It's quite embarrassing sha but try to get a lot of bibs and handkerchief for cleaning the milk. I am really hoping my baby girl doesn't experience same. |

yseries: Gd evening nairaland mamas. Pls I need ur input on an argument I had with my husband yesterday.
So I lost my job at d bank where i worked(mass retrenchment) some few months b4 I gave birth, now d baby is seven months old, I am getting tired of sitting at home. So I told my husband that I wanted to intern at a law firm at least to refresh my memory of all d legal stuff I hv forgotten as a result of working in d banking sector for long. At least if I don't get a good paying job I cld b practising solo since most law firms don't pay well in abj here. I told my husband we wld hv to place dd in a creche, he refused o dear mamas dat he cannot b paying for creche when I am not working dat I hv to contribute to d creche fees. Dat unless I'm being paid I cannot intern.
I discussed dis with my mum however, she maintained dat creche fees is just d same as schl fees and that it is a man's duty to pay schl fees, dat even if I am working I shld never do dat. Except my husband is really broke.
Mamas what Do u think cos dh was arguing like its a must I shld contribute. I agree with your mum. Try and make him see reasons why you really need the intern, it may take long before he approves sha. |

imurboss: Yes o, we thank God october is very near but people are even more expectant than the person carrying the load, na wa o.You're lucky to have 4mths, mine is 3mths hence the reason why i will like it to start counting after delivery, even the 3mths sef may not be enough for me talk more of if i now start the leave now....Thanks teamie Lol, 'expectant than the person carrying the load'. My boss is very troublesome, I travel daily to the LGA I work in which is about 1hr15mins drive morning and evening, plus my hubby is in a different state. I didn't have the opportunity to register for ante natal, I was always having pelvic pains that wouldn't allow me walk plus all other stress. I just had to apply the leave before stress would make me born b4 time. Since I left, I started enjoying my preggy very well, I keep praying she gets transferred to another LGA or state cos me can't deal with her wahala when I resume. |

jazzyjazz: I pray so Will give the multivitamins tomorrow I remember sometime ago when my DS lost appetite, all his favourite food plus drinks were all rejected, we took him to a Dr. who administered multi vitamin syrup for him, a after two days of taking the multivite he still didn't eat, we went back to the Dr. and then he asked us if he takes fruit and if he has a favourite among the fruit. We left hospital and bought Oranges and bananas which were his favourite. DS regained his appetite with the fruits, he rushed them like his life depended on the fruits. |

Babythug you know your hubby better than anyone here, forget those self righteous people that blew the whole thing out of proportion. As a mama said, get a new kpekus style that will shake his senses outta this world after the do, you can then apologise and promise not to do that again. I personally don't do that cos hubby loves shopping esp foodstuff and secondly he keeps money in the house and once it's untouched for some days he gets angry and scolds me for not using the money. I usually end up apologising and using it for little chops around, so I've not had such experience of inflating price of things. I did that for my Dad a lot sha, and my mum also did same to get enough money to buy some things that we will all end up using or eating. The anger I believe is just for a while, so just try and lay low and apologise. |
