I have ugu leaves for sale directly from the farm. order for any quantity. though at least a sizeable quantity. can supply anywhere within lagos. My farm location is at ikorodu. I will also embark on large scale dry season ugu farming by November, so potential buyers should also keep this number.

Also I will like you to advise on what items is expected of the farmer on the site before a drip tape can be successfully installed. I know of borehole and pump, generator, what are the others.

@Adlac, I wish I could sell ugu in paint buckets but I may end up looking as if I cheated the buyer.

For me, as a person that understand what investment of hard earned money is, i will advise you do not buy your seeds in measurement buckets online except you are physically where the pods will be broken and measured.

I have once been a victim of this on this forum ( check my posts for the complaints) and I will not want to do this to others.

It is either the measurements are not complete or only big ugu seeds are selected to fill up the bucket, etc

So it's an advise to all.

how much for transporting to Lagos

@petyr1 , it depends on the quantity of ugu seeds you are buying. If it is a handy quantity of at most one semolina bag which is like 1500 seeds, you will pay around #1000 to #1,500. But nevertheless this one that will come in this weekend is majorly owned by me so I am not sharing transport cost with other mini buyers. The variety is what is more important to me right now.

Did you consider the plastic mulch, the cost of seeds (I used hybrid seeds), the cost of the nursery (seedling tray, cocoa peat, nursery house construction) and a host of other expenses that could be very difficult to account for.....not forgetting wages of worker. I can tell you the expenses is more than what is mentioned earlier

Dear readers,

I must commend the OP for taking a very bold step considering this is like his first major project.
There is always a trade-off between getting things right and profitability. I would prefer the OP way of getting things right first and later talk of profitability in subsequent projects. But from my observation, the OP has done the needful especially in terms of mulching which most farmers usually overlook.
I will like to advise fellow farmers to also implement this mulching technique. I will also try it in my dry season ugu farm as it will go a long way in surface water conservation in my swamp farming.
I wish the OP a bountiful harvest.

ugu powder for what? And for transport, he should go to transport company garage and send via waybill.

I never also believed in making ugu powder until I started doing my research on how to preserve veggie during glut, which led me to a malaysian woman that farms ugu and other african veggies in Malaysia. She supplies ugu powder to american clients in kg and gets paid bountifully. She said it is used for babies, pregnant women, old people's home, hospitals and breastfeeding animals in Asia and the US and will just be added like powdered milk to to oats and feed. She taught me the recipe but am yet to do it. I will update the house once I start the project cos am also looking at the general acceptance over here. She even sent me pics, but i dey save am for later.

Don't mind me bro, Looking for a cheaper and reliable way to bring my seeds into lagos. Waybill is very expensive nowadays though bringing some in by next week.

Considering the scarcity of UGU seeds in the market for planting, I have told my Dad who lives in the East to source for the Broad Leaf variety Ugu seeds for me.

The only challenge is transport. Transporters in the house, please advise your fellow Nairalander on how to bring this seed from Imo State with the least possible covid-price.

Interested buyers/farmers/planters are welcome to show interest. Am based in Lagos though but can deal with neighboring states. I can also export to you if you need the seeds abroad.

As at today, average seed price is N35.
