Security Alert! Coming from a first hand experience. if you happen to do late night trips like me please avoid using the designated u-turn around the second toll gate. that's the toll gate between chevron and ikota as I suspect some unscrupulous element had poured something there to make your Car slide over thereby making you have an accident and in the process, they rob you. just to confirm my suspicion, I witnessed another accident this morning right on that spot. I was lucky not to have damaged my Car last night there. |

geezyk: Yesterday I picked up a rider from platinum road lekki to lekki phase 1, once at the destination he told me not to end the trip that ill tals him back, waited for like 3 mins, and we headed back, trip ended payment is 1k, he was shocked just as I was, he said when he ordered it was 800, that how come he's paying 1k for round trip, I didn't even know what to say, he just gave me 1500.
What could be the cause of that, any ideas? nothing to be shocked about, no base fare on the return trip, just normal distance per time readings. |

dru23: At this time and age .. Who wants to be driving manual for ehalling .. Driving alone can be stressful unless u driving a sport car .....but manual for ehalling I can only recommend such if I dislike the person ..
manual for e-halling on that Lagos traffic with the constant shifting of gears up and down ... A person legs and arms go be like Arnold Schwarzenegger in 6months but na 1 side of the leg and arm go be like Arnold Schwarzenegger they other wetin go happen ko ? U go switch sides be dat.. u no fit just dey look like Arnold Schwarzenegger half way now ;. Chillex my guy it is well Oga dru, I've always told you to stay away from this kind of discussion cos rumour has it that you can't drive so your judgement on this kind of matter will not count. I drive a stick shift and it is not as stressful as painted. pros are durability, cheaper maintenance, better fuel economy, cars are cheaper. cons: stress of changing gears in slow moving traffic. if you drive a modern manual car that's well maintained, your clutch and gear will be very soft hence less stress while changing gears. I just pity some drivers that can't think. you have 1m but because you want to drive a particular brand with automatic transmission, you'll go and enslave yourself and be doing hp or rental with your 1m when you can get a good car with manual transmission at that price and make money for yourself and become your own boss. I started this hustle with rentals and I first car was an 04 corolla. That car came from canada so had suspension issues. I later bought my own car which was a big daddy camry 04 little did I know that the car is notorious for shorting oil. I use I litre of oil to top up weekly, I later sold off after 9 months of usage. I bought 09 corolla for 2.1m but discovered it's a wrong tool of the hustle too cos its costlier to maintain than previous car and sold off before the AC wahala too starts. Truth be said! the 03-08 corolla is best for the hustle but it is unnecessarily too expensive and the fact that you can't have peace of mind with that especially in Lagos. it's also becoming expensive to maintain too due to costs of parts too I currently drive a brand that's not popular in Lagos, fits the hustle too, though manual but who cares!, cheaper parts, fuel economy is good, rugged, nice looking atleast to my eyes and fits the fare perfectly. |

Lost my sense of taste and smell for more than 10 days now, thankfully with the drugs and herbs am on feet. To those who check up really appreciate and those I reach out to really appreciate. Once again it's real protect yourself. I was way below Hell and back. It's not funny that loss of taste n smell, was that covid? cos I had it last year after a surgery. I had it for about 15days or so, I took normal malaria tablets and agbo and it vanished. but bro, was it covid related? |

Ghost1994: Each time I read how government officials extort Uberbolt drivers, my heart bleeds.
There’re many reasons why these things why we fall victims such as greed, misinformation and lack of concentration
Am gonna try and be helpful on the part of misinformation
Am gonna list some lastma/police/task force/local government touts hotspots
On the island
No parking and stopping on the entire stretch of marina and broad street, the only authorized drop off and pick up point for Uberbolt is oando filling station marina
Also no stopping at CMS bus stop both in front of that church and under the foot bridge.
No stopping or parking on the entire stretch of st Gregory’s road or any of the inner street off the street except you’re dropping Off a resident of that particular street, also no stopping or parking on the entire stretch of awolowo road ikoyi
No parking along that ikoyi passport office road, you can drop off and wait a bit but don’t park and switch off your engine, they have eyes all around
Also if you’re to park on those streets off Alfred rewane be very watchful and don’t sleep off because they patrol from time to time
Eko hotel round about is another place to be very careful about, if you’re sharp you can quickly drop off there and move sharply
Then another problem with Victoria island is that they’re many one way roads which the signs are hidden or not visible, I can’t vividly describe the streets here with texts but once you’re in VI and you’re trying to enter a street look out for signs or better still park and ask to be sure.
The newly built traffic lights at 1st and 2nd roundabout in lekki is a bit confusing, if you’re trying to make a u-turn, look out for the correct sign and turn there, else those lastma and police officers are milking people dry on a daily basis, don’t fall victim pls.
Ajah under bridge is also a hot spot
From Abraham adesanya down to epe is a bit relaxed
Now we come to mainland
First on the list is Ikeja, during the day there’s no safe spot on Ikeja except the inner inner streets of GRA and Allen area, Ikeja is very notorious for traffic offenses so it’s better you avoid them but I’ll still share some hotspots
Kodesoh street inwards GRA, if you’re not turning right towards airport road, don’t stay on the extreme right, it will be termed obstruction and watch out for the traffic light there, they change very fast
Under bridge too,if you’re not sure where you’re going just stay in the middle lane, another thing to note if you must press your phone or receive calls around Ikeja be very watchful too and vigilant
Ade niyi Jones to connect oba akran traffic light, pls don’t try and beat it because those task force policemen on bikes are always there and will give you a hot chase
Airport road, for no reason whatsoever must you stop on the entire stretch of airport road from international down to local, don’t ever ever stop or park, if you wanna pick someone just drive into the car park and wait, don’t try to be smart about it
If you’re to pick a rider at MM1 tell him or get to come in to the car park
If you’re to pick at MM2 you can pick from the arrival pick up point or car park but make sure you don’t pick or drop off a rider when you’re on the zebra crossing, that offense alone Na 50k and most importantly don’t waste time while picking up, if you don’t see the rider yet keep moving and circle round back into the airport until you see him or her
If you’re to pick at international airport tell the rider to come inside the car park not outside oh, it must be inside after the barrier else they will clamp and tow your car away
Most importantly when you’re around Ikeja you should be very smart and watchful and don’t park anyhow
Yaba is another hotspot that you don’t park anyhow on the streets except you go into the inner and isolated streets and also watch out for one way roads, another area notorious for one way roads is shomolu and bariga, I don’t really know much about those areas because I don’t go there
Surulere The traffic light in front of stadium to turn into Alhaji masha road be very careful lastma guys are always on the prowl, there’s also a turning if you miss it don’t try and turn at the next one,if you’re caught no stories oh
Also be careful around aguda area, there’re some no parking zones around there, even if you wanna park just be watchful and smart about it, the local government tours there no get joy at all
So for now these are the ones I can easily remember, the rest places I hardly go to and if I go I don’t waste time and am very vigilant before I leave there
Places like egbeda, agege, iyana ipaja, ayobo, ikotun, ikorodu, abule egbaland, ogba, somolu, bariga, igando I hardly go to these places
Places where you rarely have issues are festac, ago palace way, mile 2,ajegunle,okoko,satellite town, iba
Some other hot zones
Alakija under bridge Apple junction(not always) Iganmu bridge
That will be all for now
Stay safe and God bless us all you said it all in one piece. new and aspiring drivers, please print out and recite 3 times every morning before driving out. |

izzou: Let us see...
Toyota Corolla Vs 8 Units of Bajaj Motorcycle
Unit price of Corolla - #2,200,000 Unit price of Bajaj - #285,000( 8 ) = #2,280,000
Weekly returns for Corolla - #30,000 Weekly return of Bajaj - #8000( 8 ) = #64000
In 10 months (in an ideal situation)
Corolla would have raised - #30000*4*10 = #1,200,000
8 Units of Bajaj would have raised - #64000*4*10 = #2,560,000
Conclusion: The Toyota Corolla (Tokunboh) is a wrong tool for rental in ehailing.
Investing in Okada business is very risky, because if Lagos state Taskforce catch you? And taskforce must catch okada riders cos their egungun too like express |

kanuisagoat: Some riders dull sha. Carried one today, told me to end the trip so he can book me again back to his destination.
I ended it, before I could say Jack, this guy has rated me one star. This was someone we gisted and laughed together all through the journey.
When I asked him why, he said he always gives drivers that he vibes with one star. I asked what he rates those he doesn't vibe with. He said he doesn't even bother rating those ones.
I was the one now telling him the ones he didnt bother to rate have nothing to lose but he has killed the rating of every driver he vibed with and rated one star. Said he didnt know and that why will bolt do it like that bla bla bla... he's not dull, he gave you what he felt was appropriate. |

Pearl1910: Abegi...which one be fare doesn't fit the car...people are using 2016 corolla, 2014 Camry, 2012 Matrix, and different SUVs. Warts just said he uses Lexus hybrid...most important thing is knowing cost of parts, fuel consumption and durability of the car.
The car is good for the business: fuel consumption is good, Cost of parts are generally fair and Car is strong and durable... Its a Honda afteral. I assume u have it already but if u want to buy then I advise u go for an earlier year cos of cost of purchase. to the poster, don't listen to this advise. by the time maintenance sets in, you will understand better. if the car is solely for ehailing, abeg get the regular corolla or the lower generation civic my 2 cents! |
