obaidan: the street of singlehood is filled with single beautiful ladies in their 30s, early 40s......it is almost over for the marriage institution actually. YOung men have realized the truth- you will toil, you will labour for the family, you will sacrifice just for someone or some people to label u absent father. Not hands-on. YOu will suppress your ego yet u will be labelled misogynist because u are doing the sensible thing-stamping ur authority and not letting a girl manipulate you emotionally. AT the end of it all, u use ur sweat ur money to build the family, the children, the children starts flourishing .......u do not have their companionship, the affection belongs to the manipulative gender. WHY MARRY THEN, why not use your money to enjoy your life, build better network, do better health insurance for yourself, and raise your kids with a girlfriend that is ready to play by your rules. Some will say, she will leave when she gets the person that will marry her- How is that your own problem as a man? Are you looking for a loyal partner OR someone that wants to use you to fulfill her dreams of being a Mrs. Let your kids judge you by the fact you are their father and you are pampering them and taking care of them as your children appropriately, NOT by a distorted story that a woman will feed them about how you are "terrible" husband just because you are not simping. Then there is another group that have used their productive and fertile years to wait and look for Tall Dark and Handsome and yahoo boys and rich men. Now Body dun wrinkle, everything dun scatter, dem come dey find any decent boy that will come and clean up the mess Gbam!!!! Shop don close |

Talkisneeded: So what’s not finishing primary school and success has in common?? Graduates in this part of this world thinks everything should be given to them on a plater, just because you went to school for five years, nature should place you higher than someone who has learnt how to till the ground food or do plumbing work for five years… Plus many of you can’t even defend your so called certificate sefff…
Life can be crazy I know, nature can be cruel, but nature will only reward those who tries and not those that complains I agree totally with you. The problem with the average graduate is that they are so so so rigid to life and not flexible. You see those guys driving danfo, trucks/trailers, cow/goat butchers, keke drivers etc are making good money on daily basis. It is just that due to their little exposure, you won't like their lifestyles. All they do with the money is to drink beers in the evening, bang women, wear dirty clothes, build face me, i face you houses etc. They are not polished or refined the way the educated would have done. So it makes people look down on them and their jobs. In my area, the alhaji my wife so buy cow from shares 1 cow with a partner veeryday and believ me, you can't buy 450k cow, divide it into 2 and not make nothing less than 30k profit per day on your own half. Even a goat seller can't make nothing less than 15k killing 1 ogufe per day at a junction. My ogufe seller kills 3 on a good day and 1 on a bad day. There are alot of things to do but the graduates are not trained nor prepared for such life after school. They all become depressed and suicidal. If they are not thinking of working in office with AC, it will be travelling abroad. |

SocialJustice: Or millions to buy Marwa. You don't need millions to buy marwa or bike. You can take installment with a shorty or guarantor. The hausas flooding the south on monthly basis without any skills, education nor anybody all started with bikes on installment. If you are serious and ready to do it, join the bike or marwa association, with time, someone will see your seriousness and give you one to start with. Their chairmen always have bikes and marwa to give out to serious minded people. If you can't, go learn cow butchering and selling in local markets. It cost nothing. After 6 months with them, one oga will give you a share of his portion for you to sell at your own stand in the market. |

Standalone09: The rate of unemployment in this country is just alarming. I finished school since 9 years ago, till date no job. Funny enough, the Marwa guys are even living good than most graduates. I was told it's either I buy a job or get special link from the top. How can a common man afford millions to buy a job. This is the bitter truth. Guys doing blue collar jobs - keke drivers, danfo drivers, cow butchers and goat butchers in local market all make reasonable money everyday but graduates are doing shitty jobs. you have to be shameless in 3rd world countries to make a living. Only few will get good paying jobs sitting in AC, drinking tea while pressing computer. And guess what? those blue collar jobs adjust to inflation easily compared to white collar salary jobs that are always stagnant for years. Reason why you always see civil servants/salary earners always going on strike for salary increment, holding rallies and blocking roads while the so called illiterates and semi-illiterates will look down on adjust their price to inflation - drivers will adjust lagos to ibadan transport fare tomorrow if price of fuel goes up unlike salary earners. Tomatoes sellers, ogufe sellers etc will all adjust price. it is up to you to drop your ego and hit the street. |

betabread: If u are a rainfed farmer please understand the rainfall pattern in your area.... For example if you grow corn pls let your corn tasseling, silking and flower formation coincide with the period of assured rainfall..... In my own locality this is the month of June and October...... Any other thing outside this period means greatly reduced yield, if u like plant seedco 719 or tela maize...... In fact if ur hybrid tassels in this window period and all other agronomic factors are intact, you will surpass the advertised yield Hmmmmm Where is your farm? Mine is at Kobape, 30 acres currently. Planted maize and cassava but it has not been easy honestly. Labourers are a big issue so am trying to reduce as much as possible the human contacts in my farm. I just bought and importing a multi-implement from china and it will arrive next month. It will plant, fertilize, spray at the same time reducing human factors. I will be following your thread and we can share knowledge

Beautifulsoul97: What are the benefits of the asset backed loan united capital offers? I believe they can’t loan you more than your capital with them, what’s the interest on the loan? Will your money market investment keep getting the accrued interest while you are servicing your loan?
If I have a capital of say 10m with you and you approve a loan of 9m to me, is this really a loan? Why can’t i just use my money for the purpose i am taking the loan for, If the daily money market interest will keep dropping then i might consider it. Kindly explain, how do one profit from this loan ? Opportunity cost. In an economy with high inflation, the borrower wins while the lender loses. I believe you know a 1m now is better than 1m next year because a 1m last year worths more and would have bought more than a 1m today. Why wait to save 2m per year from 10m I invested in TB/bonds/MF for 3 years to buy a 5m car by 2027 when I can use my investment as loan to buy the 5m car now. By 2027, yes you would have been able to save the 5m from your investment without taking loan but that money won't be able to buy that car again because it could have worth 7/8m then but if you borrow to buy now, you are returning back a less worthy money back to the lender. There are opportunities you will lose trying to save us before doing somethings, hence loan looks okay. A land that sells for 5m now you don't want to take the loan for to buy won't be the same price 3 years from now if you save to buy it. Lafarge(wapco) was #35 per shares last year November, if I had waited to save up to buy, I would have lost the opportunity to buy cheap when the opportunity arose. I took the ucap loan, bought lafarge and less than 6 months , it has risen to #77. More than 100%. If I am to be using my interest on TB or bonds to buy, I would have only bought few then and when the next cash comes, I will be buying at expensive price. A 10m loan in wapco in November will be worth 21m now, remove the principal and interest and you will still be left with close to 10m in profit but Hey, we are all different. Different faces, different backgrounds, different way of seeing situations and executing it which is where the rich differs from the poor. How we maximize the opportunities in our hands. As our names, face, date of birth and death and mode of death differs, so is how we will see and do things differently. |

If you get your British residency in 5 years, most probably you would have stayed extra 5 years or more anyway from observation. So why the worry? Most guys I know who migrated to US, Canada and UK have all been staying there years after getting their passports, I hardly know anyone who came back home finally, so waiting for 10 years, working and paying your taxes looks no different to me. |

DAramis: If you solve the pressing need, the money is gone forever but if you invest it and use it to get a loan, it is still your money. Let's assume you have 10m and buy a car of 5m, you will be left with 5m. But if you put the 10m in MF and get a loan of 5m, you will buy the car while still getting roughly 2m per year from your investment. In roughly 4/5 years, you will pay back the loan while still keeping the car and your invested money
The bolded above was his reply to similar question. And I strongly think it makes perfect sense.
A loan involves monthly repayment right or in some investment company quarterly or bullet payment (like the one he is using).
Now if you do MMF and take out loan (let say 50 percent of your MMF amount), the monthly interest generated by your MMF can cover the monthly repayments of your loan. Now as a business man or woman, your business will keep generating funds which you can also channel into repayments of the loan...at the end of the whole scenario , you would have paid off your loan while still retaining your intial capital invested in MMF.
And there is no where a bank will give you loan above your invested amount without collateral. It is like you having 5 million naira invested, but want to buy a car of 15 million naira, you will have to bring something else to back up the loan you need....But a car of 2 million naira can work out based on your invested amount...
Above all, my sister do what you think is right with your money if you feel it doesn't sit right to take loan against your invested money. Exactly. You have said it all Let everyone do what they feel is right. |

DigitalMallam: For those with financial discipline, this approach may not be beneficial. I'd rather leverage compound interest and use the accrued interest to cover essential expenses, rather than depleting my savings.
With this, I'll be avoiding loan & interest payment. Unless I'm borrowing a huge chunk for business purposes I don't see any gain in keeping/investing my money for a lesser ROI% then take a loan at a higher interest to settle needs. Well, every Mallam to his kettle |

Ourtruth247: Killing to survive
Why is it that feeding in our world so often demands killing? Have you thought about this?
Across land and sea, we consume animals to sustain our physical bodies. This isn’t a condemnation of meat consumption, rather it’s an invitation to reflect on a deeper question: Why are our bodies biologically wired to depend on the flesh of other living beings?
Now consider the staggering scale of suffering this system produces. Billions of animals are slaughtered each year, millions each day, many enduring fear, pain, and distress before death. If this world were truly the creation of a wholly benevolent force, wouldn’t such widespread death and suffering seem inherently contradictory? Wouldn't the creator of our world think of a better way for living things to survive that wouldn't involve the violent murder of weaker beings?
And this pattern isn’t limited to humans. In the animal kingdom, survival is often a cruel equation; watching one’s young be taken, living under constant threat, and killing to avoid starvation. It’s not just nature; it’s a relentless cycle of trauma woven into the very fabric of life on Earth.
If as I believe this world is overseen by forces that feed on emotional energy like pain, fear, and suffering, then what better design could there be than this one? A planet where survival itself ensures a constant stream of anguish... for humans and animals alike.
I employ everyone reading this to take a moment to really ponder on this. From my little experience, people who think to deep like you are suffering from mental disease called schizophrenia. If you don't mind, you can go for diagnosis bro |

yusman14: As regards to your first paragraph, why is it so?
Some people are very rich and when one ask them money, they won't want to help. It is not about being entitled. If I'm very rich and a relative ask for my help, knowing that the person is serious with his/her life, I'm going to give.
Imagine someone earning over 4m/month ignoring you because you asked for 20k. You only know he earns 4m per month, what you don't know is his liabilities would be more than that per month - his kids sch fees, house rent, car and maintenance, debt/loan etc |
