Thats it. you only know what your company spent while building their network. You do not know the actual cost it involves? you dont even know the equipment that was bought. i am saying these thing because i know what it involves.
LOL,

I don't need to tell you anything here,

But anybody who tells you the cost of a BTS is less than 2m Naira is a dunce.
Even the cost of collocation is more than that in some areas.
Stop saying what know nothing about.

Do a quick speed test and tell me which network will give you 1mps in Nigeria.
This guy did not use an investment of $2million to set this thing up,$100,000 is too much i can assure you that. I though it was a nationwide stuff he did. he only captured computer village at the moment. The guy bought a broadband network with high throughput and kept wireless routers around computer village and he is use a software to split and allocate bandwidth to customers that's why he said 2mb/s is fastest.
$2m for national coverage?
Guy $2m won't give you full Lagos coverage.
$2m is not up 400m Naira.
Have you done speedtest on the network yet.
I know what my company spent while building the South-East network alone.

lagbaja: what am i wrong about ?

that the company is not worth N1b ?
that the company has 20,000 customers ?
that the company has $2m investments ?

i did not say they are non existent.I said they exaggerated their capacity. how much have u spent on buying their vouchers ?. you only told us how us used their internet service for free. remember also that registeration is a prerequite for internet service in Nigeria.
When you hear a company is worth over 1bn. It is a forecast based on market.
Do you know how much is generated in computer village everyday.

20,000 clients is even small considering the population of computer village.
As for the $2m dollar investment you need to ask Zenith bank if it true.
But if you think $2m Will get you CAC reg,NCC license, main-One bandwidth, cell sites coverage and equipments, e.t.c.
Then are on a long thing.
$2m is not up to 400m Naira.
Go ask how much SPECTANET, SWIFT,MOBITEL invest on thier networks.

As I said earlier the registration is done on your WiFi device browser(phone, laptop e.t.c) and not in thier office.

lagbaja: I was fascinated when i read the story of Wande this morning. I was particularly curios about his $2m investment claim, the company's claim of net-worth of N1billion and the customer base of 20,000 subscribers. I quickly set out to investigate the story and to learn from their practice.I went to the computer village and made enquiries about the company. Not so many people knew about them. eventually, i was directed to one of the vendors that sells their voucher. I asked to buy a voucher, he told me the different product offers, i settled for the N200 voucher. he said i could not use it until I register, however the person to register me was not around. i offered to go to the company's head office to do my registration. he gave me a flier that bears the head office address. before leaving i asked him how many such vendors like him existed for the oxygen network, he estimated it to be about 20. i also asked how much his daily sales is, he said it was between N1k and 2k. By implication, the total sales within the computer village for 26 days by 20 voucher resellers and at an average sales of 2k per reseller will be about N1m. i eventually locate the company. The company was situated in a small shop on 12 Francis Oremeji st. They share office with another small company called Jolasons Nigeria Limited. the company does not in any way reflect a N2m sales company talk less of a N1billion worth. The lesson in all of this is that you should look before you leap. secondly , don't believe all that you read in the papers, particularly punch. you can achieve your dreams and attain greatness, but dont build on weak foundations.
You are wrong, I use Oxygen any time I go to Otigba.
1. The network is WiFi based, any WiFi device can connect.
2. You do not need any office to register, I registered throug my phone WiFi and got 5hours free browsing.
3. According to thier engineers thier main office is at Surulere.
4. 80% of guys at the village knows Oxygen, and 60% use the network.
Oxygen is the cheapest and best ISP within that area.
But the problem is that they lacked good network coverage.

CrimeRe: Friends Of Ugo Ozuah Who Was Killed By The Police by emmatok(m): 1:20pm On Sep 23, 2012
Abali1: I believe Okija and some of us who have said that this initial account is not trying to absolve the police of the blame. Or that the NPF is not capable of doing what is being alleged in this story.
What we are simply saying is that a lot of unanswered questions abound in the tale. (If I were the "friend" I will be very scared right now).

I have been wondering whether this could be just another case of random killing by the police. But there are certain coincidence in the tale that makes it hard to believe.

Ugo got wedded on the 15th of Sept and five days later he was killed by supposedly drunk policemen. (Number one coincidence)

I know that by 10pm in Lag, people will still be moving around as if it were still 6pm elsewhere... So after the shootings I believe that it was not only the DPO and a handful of police and the "friend" who came back to the crime scene. But this story (I believe backed up by the desire of KC boys to get justice) is being spread to the public as the authentic version of what transpired that night. My question is whose version of the story our we reading? My guess is that it is the version of the "friend's" account of what happened that night. (I believe that this is the second coincidence
Number three coincidence is, why didn't the supposed NPF in the van at least fire at the "friend"? Or was it only one policeman that was with an AK in the van?
Ok, maybe they were fleeing the scene. Why didn't the friend also flee the scene and maybe find his way home. Or flee the scene to a safe distance and start making calls. Why come back to the crime scene? Why didn't the DPO and his men arrest the principal witness, When he came back?
Did the friend follow the second batch of policemen to the hospital?
I gathered that there was another general hospital around Gbagad, so why Ikeja Gen hospital?

Please am not pointing any fingers, either at the "friend" or the NPF. But there are simple so many unanswered questions and coincidence in this story. I find it hard to believe that this initial account is actually what happened that night.
I think it is an issue of accidental discharge.
The Police can't just hunt kill the friend since they dont know if he is the only witness.
Well proper forensic should be done will the bullets.
And the DPO should be queried for not making any arrest.

The fact remains that Christians and Muslims came to this country with slavery. These religions did not come with peace. They are not much better than pagan religions. Even worse when you realise that Christians and muslims have killed far more than any pagan religion.

Even look at today. Pastors defrauding church members with tithe scams, Children being beaten and killed because iof withcraft accusations, roads blocked because of useless spiritual camps and retreats. Christians dying because their pastors told them that they can be healed through miracles rather than medicine.

The African slave trade was justified with the bible when it came to the West. Christianity is a slave religion

A half truth is a lie. Your religion was mostly in support of slavery by the fact that the most powerful denominations were in support of slavery at the time.

False!!!!

1) The African slave trade was started by muslims.

2) Christians still kill witches in Africa. Europe (Britian) dumped their toxic religion on us and forgot about the religion. Do British people burn witches anymore? Ae British people religious? No, but We Africans carry their foriegn religion and do all kinds of atrocities like tithe-fraud, battering children accused of witchcraft, improsining homosexuals etc

3) We destroy our own cultures. Our great granfathers were wed in their traditional cultures and they hardly divorced but now we do church weddings. We are now saying that weddings are not holy or proper until done in a church. Shameful.

4) There were secular movements in the call for abolition of slave trade

5) From the changing behaviour of christians on slavery, their truth is not eternal and neither is their bible's or god's

How did I contradict myself?

a) Slavery is wrong. Christians engaged in slavery

b) The bible supports slavery.

tbaba1234: 5 Examples Of Supreme Muslim Tolerance
by muhammad-wajid-akhter

As we see the images of burning embassies and burnt flags unfolding across the Muslim world, it is easy for non-Muslims (and some Muslims too) to jump to the conclusion that there is an inherent lack of tolerance amongst “religious” Muslims.

A lot of this is down to the hypocrisy of trying to judge others by standards that are completely your own.

Generally speaking, just because the West tolerates blasphemy on a grand scale, this does not mean that people who condemn blasphemy are necessarily intolerant.

Some of it is down to pure Islamophobia, in which Muslims are seen as irrational, violent, and pathological zealots. A fair proportion of this is rooted in a deep-seated ignorance of the supremely tolerant history and nature of Islam.

Here are just a few examples of exceptional Muslim tolerance:

5. The Success of Non-Muslim People in Muslim Ruled Lands

Here's a quick game you can play…

What happened to the Muslims of any land in which Non-Muslims ruled them?

In Communist Russia they were forcibly marched into the gulags of Siberia. In Eastern Europe it was the genocide of Bosnia and Srebrenica that awaited them. In Palestine, it is 60 years and counting of occupation, humiliation and imprisonment. In Spain, it was total annihilation, such that not one man was left to call the adhān.

Now, what happened to Non-Muslims living in Muslim lands?

In Moghul India, the Hindus survived, prospered and eventually took over. In Umayyad Spain, they all lived happily in the most modern state in all of Europe. In the Ottoman Empire, the Jews found shelter and a new golden age. In Egypt and Syria, a significant minority of the country is still Christian despite living under Muslim rule for 1400 years. Contrary to modern perceived wisdom, Muslims have almost always been tolerant of Non-Muslim minorities/ majorities in lands that they ruled. Had Islam been as intolerant as other ideologies, the non-Muslim communities in the Muslim world would have disappeared just like the Moors of Spain.

4. Preserving the Wisdom of Other People

It is customary for a conquering people to see nothing of value in their vanquished foe. Indeed, to this day, the Orientalist bigotry of the Colonial West towards Islam and Muslims is evidence of this.

Islam is often described as having nothing of benefit for mankind, and Muslims as being backwards despite huge amounts of evidence to the contrary. However, during the Muslim Caliphate there was a healthy respect for the culture and legacy of other cultures. It was this tolerance of the wisdom of others and the humble acceptance that there were things that they, the conquerors, could learn from the conquered that allowed Muslims to be the guardians of world knowledge.

It is little wonder that the oldest Universities in the world are all in Muslim lands. Everything from the philosophy of the ancient Greeks, the numerical system of ancient India and the agricultural marvels of ancient Persia were all preserved for posterity and built on, rather than destroyed.

3. The Conquest of Jerusalem

The Crusader chronicles mention in vivid detail the scene that took place when they conquered Jerusalem.

“Our horses waded knee-deep in the blood of the Saracens,” wrote one Knight Templar.

They celebrated their bloody triumph by converting the beautiful Dome of the Rock and masjid Al Aqsa into palaces and stables. Under a century later, Salahuddin had finally reached the gates of Jerusalem after righting the wrongs of the 1st and 2nd Crusades. Having ground the Crusader army to dust at the horns of Hattin, Salahuddin could have stormed the city like the Crusaders before him and leveled the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Indeed that is exactly what some in his army wanted. Instead he negotiated the surrender of the city with every inhabitant having to pay a certain amount in ransom. When he saw that many of the poor Christians had not enough money to ransom themselves, this tolerant Muslim leader paid their ransom out of his own pocket. Seeing his example, his soldiers did the same.

2. Saving the Jews of Spain – Twice

The Jews of Europe have always been a persecuted minority. Living in ghettos, derided openly and victims of regular pogroms – their suffering seemed endless. Nowhere was this worse than in the Iberian peninsula where the Visigothic kings chose to show off their new-found Catholic faith by making life hellish for all Jews.

First they took their children and when that wasn't enough to stamp out the Jewish presence in Spain, they decided to kick them out. But before they could complete their ethnic cleansing, the Muslims had arrived and put an end to such barbarity. The Jews were now not only free to live their lives, but also immediately promoted and allowed to take up high positions in government.

This situation lasted for nearly 800 years until eventually the Catholics regrouped and, showing that old habits die-hard, expelled both the Jews and the Muslims out of Spain. The Muslims were absorbed as refugees into the Muslim world, but where did the Jews go?

They were welcomed into Muslims lands as well with the Sultan of Turkey sending boats to bring them to Istanbul and entire districts in Morocco being allocated to them. Muslims saved the Jews for a second time.

1. The Prophet

Of course, no example of tolerance can be greater than that of the Prophet himself. When he was struggling in Makkah with a few followers, he would not raise his voice against those who heaped rubbish on him.

When he went to Ta'if he would not curse those who stoned him. When he saw his beloved wife and uncle die during the years of expulsion and starvation, he would not raise his hands against those who decimated his beloved family members. When he entered his hometown as a conqueror, he would not seek vengeance against anyone – even the killer of his dear uncle. Of course, the Prophet did stand up against oppression, unprovoked aggression and injustice. There was a balance in his behavior that is missing from the discourse of both, those whose first instinct is to burn stuff and those who say that all provocation should be ignored.

The Prophet taught us tolerance and taught us its limits.

As the Western world grapples with the cancerous spread of dangerous Islamophobia in their lands and the Muslim world grapples with tendency to reflexive actions in theirs – we would all do well to remember his example. Muslims have a choice – we can either use our limitless love for the Prophet to burn the world to avenge him or to reunite, refocus and re-build the world in honor of him. It is not hard to guess what he would have wanted.

No wonder he is known as “Rahmat lil-'Alimeen” – a mercy to ALL the worlds.

Foreign AffairsRe: French Magazine Risks Muslim Anger With Mohammed Cartoons by emmatok(m): 10:39am On Sep 19, 2012
chukwudi44: A French magazine is publishing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed in a move that is likely to inflame outrage among Muslims who have been protesting against an anti-Islamic film.

The latest edition of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo will hit news stands against a background of protests over the US-made film that mocks Mohammed.

The magazine has not revealed what the cartoons will show but its editor said they would "shock those who will want to be shocked".

French newspaper Le Monde said the images show the prophet in "particularly explicit poses". Many Muslims are strictly against Mohammed being depicted visually in any way.

At least 30 people have died so far in demonstrations against the Innocence of Muslims film in more than 20 countries.

The last time Charlie Hebdo stoked controversy over Islamic issues its Paris offices were fire-bombed.

That attack last year was blamed on an edition "guest-edited" by the Prophet Mohammed that it called Sharia Hebdo.

Charlie Hebdo's latest move was greeted with immediate calls from political and religious leaders for the media to act responsibly and avoid inflaming the current situation.

Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault issued a statement expressing his "disapproval of all excesses".
The magazine's editor, originally a cartoonist who uses the name Charb, denied he was being deliberately provocative.

"The freedom of the press, is that a provocation?" he said. "I'm not asking strict Muslims to read Charlie Hebdo, just like I wouldn't go to a mosque to listen to speeches that go against everything I believe."

Dalil Boubakeur, senior cleric at Paris's biggest mosque, called on France's four million Muslims to remain calm.

"It is with astonishment, sadness and concern that I have learned that this publication is risking increasing the current outrage across the Muslim world," he said.

"I would appeal to them not to pour oil on the fire."

France's Muslim Council also appealed for calm.
