Nigeria and religious BS. This is why CAN is striving hard to ensure Nigeria is populated by Christians so they can turn entire infrastructures in the country to church business centers. Look at Lagos infrastructures in the 80s and 90s now converted to churches. Christianity brought down Nigeria economy, believe it or not.

Elijah fasted 40 days and 40 nights 1 king 19:8

Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights Matthew 4:1-2

These were Commandments. Jesus followed footsteps of his salaf (predecessors).

Anobi Muhammad (SAW) fasted 30 days and his followers do the same. O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may develop God-consciousness." (Quran 2:183).

His 30 days fasting was meant to relieve harsh conditions of former generations because prophet muhammad (SAW) is a mercy to the world You can see it was all in line and muslims followed their prophet's footsteps. Why do Jews and Christians today chose different path?.

It means they have strayed from the Right Path.

Yom Kippur is similar to annual Ashura in Islam that falls on Muharram 9th and 10th similar to fasting on 10th of Yom Kippur (atonement).

So again, do christians and Jews not fast annually?. I have said before that both religions have been interpolated. Which means your Fast right now is not in harmony with the scriptures.

And you asked, "for what purpose?". All Fastings have to do with atonement one way or the other. Ramadan is a time for atonement as well.

Guy, don't you get it?. The name of the month is Ramadan and it is the 9th month in the islamic calendar; just like September is the 9th month in Gregorian calendar.

In Islam we called it Ramadan. In Gregorian calendar we called it September. Same goes to every calendar in the world.

Those days in the time of Moses, Jesus, Jeremiah etc they had their names of calendar. But the most important point we want to derive in this conversation is the ninth 9th month. So Ramadan is name of the month and fasting was proclaimed therein in Islam. Similarly, 9th month of the year in the Bible, fasting was proclaimed as proven in the Book of Jeremiah 36:9.

"In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the LORD was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah."

Is this verse not clear to you?. Who are the people mentioned in this verse, were Jews not included?. You can see in this verse entire towns and tribes were obligated to fast. It is you Christians that strayed from Right Path. You are not "Omo leyin Jesu". You are Omo leyin Paulu. Paul changed every doctrine of Jesus and replaced with him own.

It is simply a strategy for survival. Even rentals in most cooperate buildings end up in riba because they involve taxes, escrow, late fee, and interest is charged on late payment. No doubt riba based mortgage is haram but be strategic otherwise life is gonna be very hard if you live or want to live in western society.

Even as we speak, Saudi and other Gulf countries are not spared from riba. They trade on riba based businesses with western countries because they had no choice.

Being strategic and being smart is to purchase investment property instead of primary residence so that you don't lose 100%.

Other option is, save your money and buy a house in a low income city. You can't live in New York for instance and want to save to buy a house. It is practically impossible unless you are Dangote or Bill Gates child. But it may be possible in poor cities like Detroit, some parts of Atlanta etc. But you had still save at least $30,000 in cash at the minimum.

Or

Simply maintain low profile and rent directly from small property owner that do not charge late fee, escrow, taxes etc. You simply pay your rent. If you are behind on rent simply negotiate with landlord directly or you will be evicted.
