Rekeb:again you don't get it. Let me say it again. Lands in most part of Nigeria especially Yorubland are owned by families who inherited them from their forefathers. If herdsmen buy these lands from a yoruba family, Yoruba have history of conflicts within family where by some member of the family are not willing to sell the land while others want to. If they sell the land anyway to herdsmen, other family member who are not content will cause trouble which will affect fulani or cattle enterprenuers. But with govt, there is no such thing. You can't go wrong with govt. But with family, it is hell on Earth. You know too well how Yoruba kill one another over land. |
Rekeb:Highlighted, 100yrs from now?. Those lands have been there for donkey yrs while your people are jobless and govt loot money. If not for this crisis none of you would ever thought about the lands. Lands are just sitting there useless. Yes, anyone can do this cattle rearing business. Agree. Real bullying is your govt looting you dry and deprived you of your basic rights like electricity. That's bullying. Recent Lagos State fixing roads for foreign president is prime example. ![]() I'm sure you are just speaking for yourself. Your govt aren't sharing your view but their pockets. They would share your view only for political purposes. As for ilorin, it is said that ilorin is not Yorubaland either. That's another argument for another day. Ilorin is a symbol of diversity. Take it or leave it. And when I said govt should take over lands, it doesn't have to be federal. Your state can do it too instead of having lands sitting there for no reason. |
mide419:You dont get it and i am not gonna waste my time with you. |
Rekeb:You have agreed they can buy land in the SW/SE. Anything else you said is irrelevant, excuse me. But I repeat that I don't support them buying the land for agriculture or ranches. Your approach will eventually lead to what you are trying to avoid (ruling over you). But rather the govt should buy those lands from the people, and farmers and herdsmen should lease from govt. This is so easy. That way you don't have to worry about them taking over you because they do not own the land. But you are saying they should buy the lands. You just contradicted yourself and your proposition is recipe for disaster. |
PeterUdeme: paranoia. Goes to show you that Fulani intregate easily than other tribes. Ilorin comes to mind. They are more Western than you. In the US, they love integration To have different tribes coexist. Ilorin is truly diversed. That's how it should be. When you diverse, you have no time to hate. This is the reality in New York. NY is more diverse than other states. You barely hear of race issue in New York. That's why majority igbi hate others because they are so secluded and have time to hate. You have contradicted yourself. Remember, this is the same way I support folks in SW/SE should have free access to the north as well. Let's just say irrational fear dey worry all of you. If you don't want them in your area, you guys should have had similar businesses to fill up your lands. But instead, your youths are just roaming the streets jobless or do fraud instead of your state and local govt to invest heavily on those lands. Because you didn't, and there are vacant lands, therefore, fulani herdsmen are coming and I am supporting them. This will ease cost of transportation and cost of lifestock in the SE and SW. Now, let me tell you mistake you guys are making. When you said fulani should buy the lands by themselves instead of govt, you guys make it worst. If they buy lands in your state, they become by permanent owners. You no longer have right to claim ownership or invoke your ancestors defense or worse them to abide by your custom. This is the reason I said govt should take responsibility of the lands by buying those lands from families or owners and reserve them for ranches and many things profitable for the community and the govt. If govt take over, how's your problem?. Nar your money govt go spend on it?. The real problem is for fulani to buy those lands. They will claim permanent ownership. You people don't understand. Now so you agree with what I just said? |
stevedre:what do you mean by traditions and custom?. Once they buy the land it is theirs. They should only abide by local, state and federal laws. There's Sharia practiced in some states in Nigeria and it is not part/recognized in the Nigerian constitution so the heardsmen must respect the host communities.what does this mean?. It is relevant to this discussion? The North have vast lands that can accommodate almost all if not all the heardsmen in Nigeria so most of them should seize the opportunity, build ranches there and leave the south/middle belt alone.you have just contradicted yourself. You said above that you don't have problem with them buying land in the SW/SE. Yea, they do have land in the North. But their business spreads across the country for decades if not for century. At least I grew up seeing them roaming the streets back in the 80s, 90s in the SW and there was no problem. Don't you think it is really hard work for them with transportation of these lifestock all the way from North to SW which also contributes to high cost of cows, ran and sheep?. And yes, they do have ranches in the North. |
Rekeb:would you support herdsmen buying their own ranches in the SW/SE if they are so willing, and since they have been grazing there for decades?. Why i asked is bcus the local buy these cows from them which means it is a business. I am not talking about forcefully taking the land but buying for themselves (for ranching) from their own capital?. |
stevedre:Do you agree they should be allowed to buy lands in SW and SE as well with their own capital since they are already in these areas for decades? |
Iblad0994:Really, when it comes to killings, that's not Buhari responsibility before decision is made. Lives and properties MUST be protected, and this is the duty of law enforcement. They don't need politicians to give them order before stopping this madness. So why would police, sars and all local and federal law enforcement are silent and inactive baffles me. This is a red flag suggesting the fact that Nigerian security agencies have been breeched. Police or law enforcement have no business with settlement between herdsmen and farmers. Their only business is to ensure safety of all citizens of the nation. They failed. Why would killings go on for hours without police intervention?. That's a red flag. It shows there is something more to this. Buhari however needs to reprimand all law enforcement officials. Either fire them and replace them with more competent people and make sure all federal and local law enforcement leaders face some sort of punishment. They must give explanatiom for their ominous silence. They are tasked for safety of the people. Their pay must be cut and demoted or fired. |
steveekeoma:how? There is no open warning sign on the land. That must preceed punishment |
Iblad0994:I still don't know why this is issue. Haven't Fulani been grazing openly like this in Nigeria and Yorubaland for decades without issues. Why all the sudden problems now?. Listen, there are some evil minded self serving people pushing these conflicts not average fulani. As you and the other guy rightly suggested, what i am seeing is already harvested farm. Those days we were even glad the cows ate the grasses. It was like they helped weed out the farm since most of those farms weren't make use of. Ranching is the way to go now in modern time. Let's support ranches across the country. |
FriendNG:Hummm, thanks for the exposition. I have been following his political stance randomly for 4 yrs now. If he doesn't slam Muslims he would slam P. Bukhari. I hate when he doesn't act objectively with sense. |

lagdmark:na only Buhari been running the country?. Na Macron brought France to where is it today?. Na him developed France?. You are both jokers |
Letenwam:So?. What sense does he make or just trying to be relevant?. Everyone works on their own time zone. President Obama retired at 55 yrs of age while President Trump resumed work at the age of 70. New York is 3hrs ahead of California. Does that mean New york is faster than california?. Everyone is working on his own time zone. |
Fadiga24:It is not dominance. It called alliance. Silly you ![]() Just as christian want western world to come in with thier military might and settled in nigeria. And we all know those western countries are christian. By the way, what has Afenifebi done for yoruba people and yoruba land?. They are load of crap |
nemesis8u:Only you understand yourself ![]() |
nemesis8u:He must be your nightmare, chai. |
beejayvince:Shaking My Head. Why did you miss this, or it doesn't apply to Nigeria?. Friday Is Payday

tintingz:This is it. You dont know. This is why you need to learn and get off your high horse. When you were in high school, if you didnt know something you asked your teacher, right?. and no one does. No, speak for yourself which you already did. You said you dont know. But we know to some extent. Now kindly answer my question.Since you said you don't know anything, and you believe there are many gods out there, we being knowledgeable ones, now say to you that There Is Only One God. Anything else is counterfeit. |

So usermane, reality is, in the US, it seems underage is actually below 10 not 18 in the US at least. You know why?. I have never seen authority persecuted a guy consuming relationship with under 18 girl and above 10. The ones they persecuted are always men sexually difiled 7yr old girl like a Nigerian man who was recently deported for having sexual relation with 7yr old girl in 2002 . So it appears to be norm throughout history of human to marry girls far below 18. It is not Islam thing. Non-muslims are simply being hypocritical about it because Islam is involved. The issue of Aisha however, quran is clear that she was a woman. There is evidence in the Qur'an that nabi(saw) married a woman (Aisha) not a child. Specific age mentioned in the Hadith is irrelevant. |
Usermane, the issue of child marriage is not a matter confined to Muslims. Last week in the USA, I forgot which state. News came up that some women are fighting to raise Marriageable age for girls from current limit (12yrs). I'm just wondering why this is an issue when it comes to Islam. I smell hypocrisy. I only have two arguments on the issue depending on who in debating with. For now read the screenshots. http://theconversation.com/child-marriage-is-still-legal-in-the-us-88846
