Good Morning Everyone..

Wishing you all a pleasant day!

*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_

*DATE:* WEDNESDAY, 26TH JUNE, 2024 *THEME:* A PLEASING OFFERING TO THE LORD

*TEXT:* GENESIS 8: 20-28 _*(NKJV)*_

8:20. Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
8:21. And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart [is] evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
8:22. "While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease."

*MESSAGE:*

After the flood when the land became dry and Noah and his household came out of the ark, God opened a new chapter for mankind through His covenant with Noah and the generations after him. The first thing Noah did was to make an altar for the Lord and offer a burnt offering as a sacrifice to the Lord. Noah did this as a responsibility and a response to the goodness of God to him and his family. He took every clean animal and of every clean bird for the sacrifice for the Lord. The Lord smelled the scent of the sacrifice and it was pleasing to Him. Consequently, He made a new covenant with Noah and his descendants. God bound himself with a covenant with Noah and his seeds that never again would He destroy the earth with flood and that as long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease. God remained faithful and committed to His covenant with man.

Beloved, by the redemptive work of God upon your life, your life must produce a good aroma to the Lord and draw many souls to the throne of grace. Many must become heirs of God through you as seen in the Noahic covenant in our text today. Your life in Christ should compel you to offer yourself to God and desire to know Him more on a daily basis. Your goal must be to please Him in all you do. Your life must be a sacrifice unto God (Rom.12: 1).

*PRAYER:*
Lord, empower me to live my life to please You, all the days of my life. _*Amen.*_

*QUOTE FOR THE DAY*
God says:

_"I will protect the fatherless, and widows can trust in Me."_ *Jeremiah 49: 11*

*THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL.* CHURCH OF NIGERIA _(ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_

*DATE:* TUESDAY, 25TH JUNE, 2024

*THEME:* GOD REMEMBERED NOAH

*TEXT:* GENESIS 8: 1-19 _*(NKJV)*_

8:1. Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that [were] with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
8:2. The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.
8:3. And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.
8:4. Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.
8:5. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth [month,] on the first [day] of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
8:6. So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
8:7. Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8:8. He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.
8:9. But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters [were] on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.
8:10. And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.
8:11. Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf [was] in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
8:12. So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.
8:13. And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first [month,] the first [day] of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.
8:14. And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.
8:15. Then God spoke to Noah, saying,
8:16. "Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons' wives with you.
8:17. "Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that [is] with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth."
8:18. So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.
8:19. Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, [and] whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.

*MESSAGE:*

The scripture reveals that God remembered Noah in the ark during the flood (v. la). This act portrays God's timely intervention and faithful love towards his children in times of distress. When God remembers an individual in a time of trouble, the following would happen:
(i) The wind of comfort will replace the existing atmosphere of tumult (v.1b).
(ii) The terrible waters will dry up and drowning will be prevented (v.2).
(iii) The storm will be calmed (v.4).
(iv) Strange coverings will disappear (v.13).

Friend, there are conditions on which God can remember us as He did Noah and his family. One of such is godly living, especially in the midst of a perverse generation like ours. This requires shining as light in a generation that embraces darkness. Today, it is saddening to realise that the children of God who are expected to shine as light are gradually adopting the corrupt practices of this generation. Noah lived in a rebellious generation, but he was righteous before God (Gen. 7: 1). God is still looking for men that will live wholly and holy for Him, even in this crooked age. As we trust God to hear us when we call on His name, we must also respond to His commands with complete and timely obedience. Our God is omniscient and He always remembers His children.

*PRAYER:*
Dear God, help me to always live for You so that I may be remembered for good, _*Amen.*_

*QUOTE FOR THE DAY*
God says:

_"I will bless the peacemakers and call them My children."_ *Matthew 5: 9*

*DATE:* TUESDAY, 18TH JUNE, 2024

*THEME:* APPRECIATE YOUR FAMILY HISTORY

*TEXT:* GENESIS 5: 1-32 _*(NKJV)*_

5:1. This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.
5:2. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.
5:3. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot [a son] in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
5:4. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.
5:5. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
5:6. Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.
5:7. After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.
5:8. So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
5:9. Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.
5:10. After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.
5:11. So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
5:12. Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.
5:13. After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.
5:14. So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
5:15. Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.
5:16. After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters.
5:17. So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
5:18. Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.
5:19. After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters.
5:20. So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.
5:21. Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah.
5:22. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.
5:23. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.
5:24. And Enoch walked with God; and he [was] not, for God took him.
5:25. Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.
5:26. After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters.
5:27. So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.
5:28. Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.
5:29. And he called his name Noah, saying, "This [one] will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."
5:30. After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.
5:31. So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
5:32. And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

*MESSAGE:*

History is to a people what memory is to an individual. It is a good thing to have the knowledge of the past so that the future could be given a proper shape. Our passage today speaks of the history of man right from Adam to Noah. It shows how man had grown in leaps and bounds over several centuries, starting with the first man. We are made to see how long people lived in the earlier part of man's existence. More importantly, it is clear that man did not develop from apes as postulated by Charles Darwin.

Knowing our family history is very important. On many occasions, many people, especially in Africa, are not able to correctly trace their lineage, while some hold distorted views of their descent. Every individual Christian should appreciate where he or she came from. Some children do not know their grandparents physically because they have not been taken home. It is painful to realise that some Christians deny their uneducated parents just because they are now civilised. It shall not be so with you. God brought you forth through that family and lineage for a purpose. Appreciate your family and the history of your lineage today!

*PRAYER:*
Dear Lord, give me grace to appreciate my family backgrounds and history. _*Amen.*_
