It was actually an occasion for presentation of Chinese scholarships to outstanding 2nd year students based on their 1st year academic results.

The scholarships is worth N100,000 each and donated by the Chinese Embassy.

Those students are potential first class but not yet first class graduates.

This is why course advisers should follow up on students and recommend these students to counsellors but the sad thing is these counsellors don't even follow up on their clients who are students. They just sit in their empty offices doing nothing.
