BusinessRe: What Will Happen If One Fails To Pay Back Loan From Loan App? by ENG0701: 7:01pm On Jan 12, 2020
eyinola:
why will u want to fail to pay back the loan even if noting will happen, years back companies like Guiness, and Noble rugs partners with our fathers to set them up in business, all they need at that time it's just a store in which those companies will supply them with goods worth millions of naira without paying a kobo only to pay back after selling and keep the proceeds from the sales, majority of them end up not paying a dime back some went to ijebu for juju so the company that helps them can stop asking for their investment, today if u don't have over 50 million u can't be a major distributor to this company leaving me and u to struggle in setting up a business today. Don't hv d mind of taking loan without paying back
Thanks a lot for this comment. If there is trust, I can give you goods and trust that you will pay later. This makes it easier for upcoming entrepreneurs to startup.
I remembered my first time in a fuel station in Toronto, you fuel your car and go inside to pay. This is possible because of trust. Such will not last a week in Nigeria as most Nigerians will want to cheat the system.
BusinessRe: What Will Happen If One Fails To Pay Back Loan From Loan App? by ENG0701: 2:58pm On Jan 12, 2020
People don't know that trust is capital. Businesses have a hard time getting funds for their ideas because of financial institutions don't trust Nigerians. Now you have companies taking a gamble, and we can think of is how to cheat this system. This is really sad.
If you don't have the intention of repaying, don't borrow. It's that simple. Cheating the system doesn't make you smart, it makes you a cheat, and a cheap one at that.
FamilyRe: Things Introverts Have Done To Avoid People by ENG0701: 1:28pm On Jan 11, 2020
I am also an introvert, or should I say "was an introvert"
I got a sales job to help me work on it, and i also joined the ushering unit in church. Now my social anxiety has greatly reduced, people even doubt that I am an introvert.
I am still an introvert, but now i can have a social life and have a conversation with strangers

Nigerian churches are trying. 90 branches of a single church in the U.K? I wonder how many branches Redeemed and Winners will have there as well.
That is our number one export. Apart from Nigerian banks that have some branches in African countries, you rarely see nigerian companies outside Nigeria except church. At least we are doing well in one thing

The Way people flaunt citizenship of western countries as if nah Heaven. SMH!

People even give testimony in church about getting a Visa.

This is what Nigeria has reduced into...dint get it twisted, it's not about bad belle at all but looking at it retrospectively, it's just so shameful.

Imagine seeing a U.S citizen flaunting British citizenship..

Believe it or not, it is tougher out there and worse still, if you like get British, U.S or Canadian Pali,.... You can never be considered one of them.

The popular question you and your generation unborn will always be asked is..."Where are you originally from"?

Crazy!
I can't speak for the US and UK, but I can speak for Canada. Once you have the passport, you are one of them. People with nigerian background run for political offices, and they win. They are voted not just by blacks, but by whites also as long as they are sound.

Some people celebrate the passport because it gives access to a lot of countries. She can now travel to over 200 countries without queueing for visa, makes going on vacation easier, and she won't be discriminated against at most ports of entry because of her passport.

Good question. But I have a question, how will Christians survive in Nigeria without bribe. At this point, it is a culture that is difficult to fight. You lose lots of opportunities if you insist on not giving a bribe
HealthRe: Why Are Weeds And Other Hard Drugs Illegal While Cigarette Remains Legal? by ENG0701: 3:04pm On Dec 14, 2019
ABCthingx:
Weed can harm others, while cigarette harms only the smoker at least.
Actually it's the reverse. Cigarette harms the smoker and those around. Weed is safer.
HealthRe: Why Are Weeds And Other Hard Drugs Illegal While Cigarette Remains Legal? by ENG0701: 3:01pm On Dec 14, 2019
Weed may have mental state altering effect (makes one high), but it has no long term adverse effect. Most developed countries have legalised it after years of study. Weed also get prescribed by doctors for chronic pains especially in cancer patients.
Cigarette on the other hand has zero medicinal effect, predisposes to lung cancer, it's a major risk factor for heart related diseases. I have no idea why cigarette still remains legal globally why weed is considered illegal.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Lady Loses Employment Opportunity Over Semi-nude DP On Social Media by ENG0701: 1:57pm On Nov 30, 2019
People always bring up Jack when this kind of conversation comes up. Jack is an exception. It's called corporate America for a reason. Check out all top CEOs and see how they dress. Even Zuckerberg looks responsible with his Jean and tshirt.

If you want to work in a corporate setting, learn to be corporate and manage your social media responsibly.
Most companies check out your LinkedIn, FB and Twitter, and it's not just a Nigerian thing.

Or following Davido or Tiwa?

I hate following the crowd. Some girls even beg
and cry to be followed by celebs. Mtchew..

Nawao.

Can someone give me a good reason why I should follow celebs?
Same here. I used to follow one or two, but I had to stop because of their frequent posts and I could not see what my real friends are posting. I wonder how people following celebrities and over 200 people cope. I make sure that I dont follow too many people

Good day great people.
Ever since PPR, Its been so eventful from one arrangement to the other and everything seems to be happening so fast.. All praises to God almighty.

Pls I'm planning to land by this month ending and I have been having a lot to think about and I will really love your advise and input in shaping my movements after all what are family for.. Lol

Firstly I plan to shortland and the reason is I need to come complete a project at work and sign out finally. So I have this issues bothering my mind... I need to get my PR card before returning to naija and from all indication, one may not know exactly when it will come out. So Pls how long can I stay hoping to get it.

If I can't wait/stay too long, what document can I probably travel with when coming in next to Canada cos I don't intend to stay to long in naija once I return.

Secondly is the issue of accommodation, and I have read here people getting one before they land, I'm PNP and my province is Saskatchewan. I will like to also get such assistance in securing an apartment in Saskatoon... Pls help me anyone in that region kindly lend a hand.

Finally can I carry as low as 2.5k CAD in cash while I have the rest in bank?

Kindly help with responses. I really will appreciate ur input
Congratulations on your PPR. I landed mid August, and I can provide some answers to your questions.
1. I was told that I will get my PR card in 6-8 weeks, but I got it in exactly 2 weeks. My wife had fone back to Nigeria before it arrived, so I had to DHL it to her, and she has received it. You can arrange for someone to send it to you.
2. Yes, you can travel with $2.5k.

There are some discussions I see online, and I just waka pass. Anybody that knows anything about government knows that all ministers (and commissioners in case of governors) gets to the president through the COS. You can watch Madam Secretary (a political series) to have a better understanding.
CrimeRe: Kidnappers Collected N3.5m, Yam Tubers, Palm Oil – Family by ENG0701: 12:04pm On Aug 20, 2019
Police and this annoying lie of claiming victims were rescued. If you rescue someone, that means there was a fight with the kidnappers, so, where are the kidnappers either killed or caught alive?
CrimeRe: 1 Dead In Jos Reprisal Cult Clash (Graphic Photos) by ENG0701: 1:11pm On Aug 03, 2019
I do not understand how cultism appeals to anyone. I recently visited the part of Lagos I grew up in and was surprised by the stories of cultism there, and sad that some educated ones that I grew up with are now into it. There is zero sense in it, no money, no promise of a better life just power to intimidate and useless fights

You didn't mention those enjoying NGO monies. NGO workers in the north east can be likened to Oil workers. The war is far from seeing it end, so far people are profiting from it.
Those NGOs are earning more than oil workers. Some positions in Maiduguri are paid 4m per month, average of 1.5/mth. I have a friend that works in Abj with one of the NGOs, they have been trying to transfer him to Maiduguri, but he has been declining because of insecurity although the offer is very tempting.
BusinessRe: The Pressing Issue Of Retained Atm Cards. by ENG0701: 5:35pm On Jul 30, 2019
This reminds me of my own annoying experience. I tried my Zenith ATM card with UBA ATM which retracted my card. Went inside to ask for my card, story, they didn't give it back to me. I needed the cash to buy fuel cos I was driving from Niger state to Abuja, I had to drive down with an almost empty tank.

From people's story, seems these banks only respond to you if you act crazily.

mastermaestro:
Listen to your shallow self. Is it not dumb, dull and disrespectful of anyone to move to a foreign country, work and live there for years, but refuse to learn the simplest part of their culture, which their local language? He has no respect for the language of the country where he makes his millions. This is the reason why the people (fans) detest him. They see him as a stranger who has refused to make there home. What next? Exit him!

Madrid's best of all time, CR7, assimilated the ways of the people. Until he left they saw him as part of them. But the proud overrated Briton thinks his language is superior and would not learn another.
If I were Madrid I will kick him out fast!
Thanks for this answer. I wonder why some people think there is no need to learn the language of the country you are working in. It is also stressful for the coaching staff. The coach coaches in Spanish, and someone will have to translate for Bale, that's stressful

Today I got to realize so many Nigerians are big fools especially all those commenting rubbish in support of what that stupid pastor said. I just lost respect for him for saying this kind of rubbish.
After the yahoo-yahoo debate a few weeks ago, I have come to realize the kind of mentality a lot of people on this platform have.
A simple research will show that the pastor is wrong. If you have even traveled before or have a passport, you will know that the passport contains pictures of a number of tribes.
When people can be triggered by a lie it shows the level of their thinking

Anytime I have to work in PH I stay for 3 days instead of 5. Of all the places I travel to, it's PH I am most uncomfortable in. Always story of kidnapping, robbing. My colleague stationed there was almost kidnapped some months ago.
