iCauseTrouble: Hi please, what's the salary range for pharmacists over there? Depends on province, and city. If you are in Alberta, its $60/hr, ( I have friends getting 65) in Ontario, it's about $50/hr. Some towns pay more to attract pharmacist, up to $80/hr. But they are usually small towns that nobody wants to work in |

Kellzzyy: Alright. Thanks. One last question, do they differentiate between PharmD and B.PHARM degrees? Also, are the exams fully clinically related questions or do they also examine industrial pharmacy knowledge (Pharm/Med chem, Pharnaceutucs, etc)? As men of honour.... Mostly clinical. The first exam, EE test a bit of everything but the 2nd and 3rd are purely clinical. There is a slight differentiation between Bpharm and PharmD. You cant work in hospital without a pharmD. Although after getting licensed, you can get a pharmD, takes about a year |

Kellzzyy: Hey bro, I'm a pharmacist. Can you enlighten me on the processes it took for you to get licensed over there ? The exams, internship and all?? Sure. It varies from province to province. No matter the province, you have to write 3 PEBC exams, evaluating, MCQ and OSCE. After passing those, then you follow the provincial steps. In ontario, if you pass all exams at one attempt, you go ahead with PACE ( a form of internship) the Jurisprudence. Should take about a year and half to 2 years |

drpossibilities: Many thanks for all your contributions. I am more inclined to stay back in Nigeria and I will. Starting life all over again in a new country is a turn off for me. For my profession I'll need to spend a year or two writing exams in any new country to get certified in that country before I will be able to get similar job and roles unless I want to switch careers. My job in Nigeria is secured. The Company is over 50 years old and even though it started as a one man business it's no longer so. After becoming a director within 3 to 5 years you become a shareholder. Shares are allotted to you as part of your employment benefits and the shares are often enough to make you part of the decision makers. I feel I have better prospects staying here and building my career than relocating to a new country and starting all over again. I think it's better you stay back in Nigeria. It is always difficult relocating when you are in your mid thirties and above, and besides you established in Nigeria. I was in a similar situation as you. I and my wife had a combined monthly income of N1.5m when we left Nigeria, I wont lie, it was a difficult decision to make, now we make about $200k PA in about 2 years, which will only go higher, so no regret. |

For me the biggest con is starting afresh. It took me a while to make up my mind because of that about relocating to Canada because of that, but thank God I did. I got my license in about a year and half and now I'm practicing as a pharmacist.
The other issues people complain of are mostly personal. You can overcome loneliness if you are ready to socialize and make new friends.

I wont say it is boring, I will just say a different kind of fun. Nigeria is a flexing country, most countries apart from US and maybe UK are not. Since I moved to Canada, I have been invited out by friends to cottage, camping, fishing or ice skating. These are not what nigerians consider fun. Their fun is more about activities and quiet fun. |

lexy2014: my questions remain unanswered:
if kicking an animal is inhumane, how is killing and eating an animal any less? will killing an animal in an abattoir be a less painful death than killing it in front of your house? if you cant kill and eat a human being because it is inhumane and barbaric, why then is killing and eating an animal whether killed in abbatoir not inhumane? To answer your question, yes, killin in an abattoir is less inhumane. That is why there are codes for how to slaughter animals. I do not fully agree with it, but the law is the law. |

abbey621: Hundreds of people both white and blacks have served jail time for animal cruelty, in the Western world pets have rights, even slaughtering cows/pig/goat in front of your house can land you in serious trouble. The wise ones know the rules and play by it while the stubborn ones blame it on racism or the system.....Be wise! I get angry when people blame racism. There are rules against such which everyone knows, why do it and then post it online. Anyone of any race will get the same reaction. |

Nigeria has a population of 200m and less than 20,000 millionaires, Canada has a population of 38m and 1.6m millionaires. More than 68% of canadians own their home, in nigeria I'm sure it's less than 40%. Canadians have access to one of the bet healthcare at no cost, not same for Nigerians. Most canadians buy their cars brand new. Poverty rate in Nigeria is way higher and so is unemployment and crime. Are there some Nigerians living better than some canadians? YES, there are. There are also some people in North Korea living better than some Nigerians. You have to look at the general population and not just some people. |

If it was a woman who hugged a male colleague and blew him kisses, without his consent, nobody would have reported anything or seen it as a big deal.
Men be careful, the devil is using women to destroy men's destiny these days. Same rule applies, but most men won't report such. |

Biodun556: 3 trillion naira will be used to subsidized fuel this year, it means the dollars realized by NNPC through export of crude oil will be returned abroad as subsidy, leaving behind little amount of dollars. This will lead to dollar scarcity and further weakness of naira Honestly, it makes no sense. It only weakens the naira, but Nigerians do not benefit anything from government except subsidy, that is why people are resisting its removal. |

GreatrAnalyst: I am not supposed to reply but let me advise you that it is not good to hold on to a belief that can limit you. Because belief can limit someone. What you don't believe can never happen to you.
I would have shared the person's LinkedIn page who got a job in Germany right when he was here as a banker. ..but no need. Like I said, work on your belief system. What you think is impossible, someone who knows better and believes will experience it while you who don't believe such will pass the opportunity over.
When you guys are saying someone who can't speak German can't live or work in Germany, does that mean there are no international companies in Germany? Do you know at all what they call expatriates? Many Nigerian students are studying in Germany with English as the language of tutoring. What does that suggest? Your points are valid, but personally, I wont advise that one relocate to Germany without learning the language, otherwise you restrict yourself to international companies only. |
