"When cabinet ministers are appointed in September, it will be some months after I took the oath of office. It is worth noting that Obama himself did not have his full Cabinet in place for several months after first taking office; the United States did not cease to function in the interim." --- (Pres. Muhammadu Buhari)
I paused to ask myself whether the Obama that Muhammadu Buhari was referring to is the incmbent President of The United States or another Obama.
Obama Named His Cabinet Before Taking Office: Obama was elected President on November 4, 2008. As President-elect Obama immediately started the nomination of his Cabinet. By December 17, 2008, Barack Obama had already nominated all his Cabinet Secretaries. Obama was sworn-in on January 20, 2009. www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Barack_Obama/Appointments_and_nominations_as_President
The only late cabinet nomination of Obama was Judd Gregg- the nominee for Commerce Secretary. His nomination came on Feb 3, 2009. That is 13 days after Obama was sworn in. The delay was because the FIRST nominee for the position Bill Richardson withdrew his nomination on January 6, 2009 due to some allegation against him as New Mexico state Governor (He was nominated on the 4th of Dec 2008. See his own word
Buhari The Record Breaker: Already Buhari has made a record as the first elected President of Nigeria to stay in office for 53 days without having Secretary to the Government of the Federation. ExPresidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr Jonathan named Ufot Ekaete and Ayim Pius Ayim as SGF same day of their inauguration in 1999 and 2011 respectively. Late Yar'adua named Babagana Kingibe as SGF 24hrs after his inauguration in 2007. Buhari however is yet to. This shows that Buhari is not serious with the business of governance.
Buhari will break another record should he fail to nominate Ministers by the end of this month. He will break the record of Musa Yar'adua as the longest streak without naming a cabinet. Yar'adua named his cabinet on the 28th of July 2007. Buhari's delay till September will mean beating Yar'adua's record by more than a month (depending on the date he nominates his cabinet). Buhari will also become the only elected African and Global leader to stay in office for FOUR months without a cabinet.
These records are not the kind of record that any serious country wish for. I don't think Nigeria's case is different. Finally, Muhammadu Buhari should stop trying to act smart by playing on Nigeria's intelligence. His failure to name a cabinet shows that he isn't prepared for leadership.
May God Bless Us All
CHANGErians will see nothing bad in this, i just pity alll the CHANGErians cause Baba is floating another party from his USA visit ANPC is the new name according PMB
Since May 29th Handing Over, CHANGErians have been dishing out different claims ascribing it to PMB, some of which are 1. Electricity has been greatly improved, 2. NNPC will start refining crude oil to PMS & disel June ending & Early July (We are still waiting) 3. LNG Tax income has been greatly improved. 4. EFCC is working effectively. 5. COAS doing press up with the Army 6. CDS & Yobe Governor cheering meet with the Army during Salah in Borno.
But with what CHANGErians are doing now, is contrary to Mrs Aisha Buhari Advise to them. At least if they will not listen to the counsel of OPPOSITIONS, is Aisha Buhari Also in opposition.
Even the fact the PM himself said this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttD5Tr-c9fQ (I cannot take credit for the revival of refineries, ditto others sectors) should have been a wise counsel to the CHANGErians. But no they will still go ahead to feed NIGERIANS with their PROPAGANDA.
CHANGErian, NIGERIANS are tired of you Propaganda.
If this Government did not deliever as promised then Its all your fault CHANGErians, NIGERIANS they talk their own now ooooooooooooh
dustmalik: It has been taking off the radio airwaves, not Internet broadcast. As far as I'm concerned, NBC has achieved its aim. Afterall, how many people would listen to Biafra Radio via the Internet? Only the usual miscreants would listen to radio biafra via the Internet.
barcanista: I read one of the developing news on Premium Times titled SSS places former NSA Dasuki, Bello Fadile, under “house arrest”. I saw a part where the DG SSS Lawal Daura denied knowledge of any siege or arrests on Sambo Dasuki's home. See the quote below.
Maybe some people want to play Fast Game. 1. Dansuki led the army that Arrest Buhari on the eve of Salah (1985). 2. Siege on Dansuki House on the Eve of Ramadan (2015) 30 Years after when Baba return for second term.
This is a season of Revenge so to say.
Let it be on record that any news coming from this Govt this days will always have PART 1, PART 2, Part 1 a, Part 2b e.e.e.e.e.e.
IbnSultaan: Misuse & Misappropriation of Defence Budget Under Dasuki under his watch TRILLIONS were budgeted for security he is still a Freeman but DSS is investigating his role
wheere is the evidence of misappropraition of fund, what happen to Minister of defence,
when will ths govt start fullfilling their false promise to Nigeria, bombing evryday nothing is done about it, all they keep doing is arrassing acclaimed enemy with any disguise, EFCC, DSS, NPF.
I gues the crowd overwelming of buhari military escort at jumat today where handiwork of Dasuki abi. Shm
Martins301: 1. Am quiet sure you know the dangers of playing partisan politics simply because you were appointed by a politician. Going by your logic, all of Jonathan's appointees, including ministers, service chiefs and Jega should have been [if they are not already] partisan in the discharge of their duties. Am sure you know better.
2. If you are associating with people of questionable character and you are percieved to be a national threat, the SSS picks you up for interogation. Sambo Dasuki just happens to fit the profile perfectly so there is nothing wrong with him going with the SSS to answer a few questions. Freedom of association ends when you work against the interest of the nation.
3. His level of crime is beyond the scope of EFCC. He did not only commit economic and financial crimes by supervising the misappropriation of millions out of the defense budget, he may have been engaged is secret arms dealing to frustrate the war on the terrorists [boko haram]. Many have also died as a result of these misdeeds. You see that the issue is beyond the scope of EFCC, ICPC and SFU.
A whole bunch of you have hidden under the shades of democracy to ride this country aground. I assure you that all that will soon come to an end.
is this the right approach by laying saige to His house, where is there warrant of arrest, please wake up, stop supporting an undeemocratic behaviour of this government
Martins301: 1. He Played Partisan Politics & Abused The Priviledges of His Office Between January and March 2015, Governor Aliyu Wamakko and many others in Sokoto state raised pretty heavy allegations against Col. Sambo Dasuki, claiming he was playing partisan politics and abusing his office by harrassing and detaining key opposition politicians in Sokoto state.
Sambo was also alledged to have connived with others to create instability in Sokoto state. He also alledgedly sent a text message threatening Governor Aliyu Wamakko as a result of the later's faulting of the police action against NASS members back then. Well him cup don full.
In case you don't know, Aliyu Mohammed Gusau and Sambo Dasuki helped stage the military coup that ousted the Buhari-Idiagbon government in 1985. Gusau is married to Dasuki's sister. It is under their watch that Militancy and Terrorism reached unprecedented heights in Nigeria. Buhari, Abacha and Yar Adua are three men that never trusted this man. Wikileaks have also released many incriminating report against Gusau and being that he shares a bond with Dasuki, the later may just have to be investigated thoroughly before the trio tear this country apart. Call it being guilty by association.
3. Misuse & Misappropriation of Defence Budget Under Dasuki
It is no news that our soldiers have been complaining of being ill equipped for the fight against Boko Haram despite the huge sums of money allocated for defence under his watch. Those soldiers who couldn't bear it any more were court marshalled and sentenced to death. What if they were right? What if someone has been stealing our defence money and sending our soldiers out without good weapons, to die like mere chickens? It was even under him those thieves tried to launder part of our defence budget into South Africa. Sambo Dasuki should go and explain the role he has been playing in the fight against insurgency and the kind of advice he was giving Jonathan that saw the security situation of this country deteriorate to this level.

This your DEFENCE line up in support of Buhari Led vanderta Govt is very Shallow, non issue at all, is this the right approac6 for Gods sake.
CHANGErian, wake up from your dreams, NIGERIANS are tired of this SHALLOW govt. Painting BLue black, White yellow
major466: Are you guys surprised? That was how Buhari ruled as a military dictator in the 80s. The greater part of his administration then was dedicated and buried in campaign of witchhunt against percieved enemies. A leader that signed-up the kidnap attempt against Umoru Dikko via crates, violating international extradition laws and protocol in the name of fighting corruption is devoid of 21st century ideas on how to lead a country in a digital age. Buhari of 1985 is still thesame person today.
We are back to 1984 ERA. this is just the continuation of where the government stopped then. 31 YEARS of second TERM
barcanista: Just last night news broke out that security operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) were surrounding the private residence of immediate past National Security Adviser Rtd Col Dasuki Sambo. It was also reported that another group of DSS agents had taken over the family residence of the Sokoto caliphate prince, holding members of his family hostage in their bid to arrest the ex-NSA. While some supporters of the government cheered at the news, some of us are worried of the development. We are worried because we want to be sure whether we are still in the 1984 General Buhari draconian era or we are in the 2015 President Buhari era.
What can justify the harassment of a man that was never summoned by the security agents to appear before their agency? Has there been any court warrant issued against him. So why the harassment? If Dasuki Sambo is needed to explain certain things to the DSS or any security agency, isn't it proper to send him invitation/summon for him to appear? Is it not when he failed to appear that he can be declared "Wanted" and forcefully arrested? Some people alleged that he was "corrupt" when he was the NSA, but they failed to realise that the agencies mandated for anti-corruption fight are EFCC, ICPC and Special Fraud Unit of the Police force. Even at that there are procedures.
Was Buhari sincere when he said that he has been democratically converted from his dictatorial past and will operate under democratic norms? In his own word in his February 16 Chatham House Speech
Let us recall that days after Buhari was elected President, one of the first thing he did was to bar law abiding journalists attached to AIT from covering his activities. It took spirited efforts and criticism from patriotic Nigerians before he had to reverse himself. We all hoped that event will be the last undemocratic act of the then President-elect. But it now appears like we were wrong.
I am not here to hold brief for Col Dasuki Sambo, I am not saying that he shouldn't be made to face the law if he's found wanting. My position is that proper procedure need to be followed, I believe this is the position of the law. We can't allow government to continue to disregard our laws at will. That's unacceptable. If we allow this to go on we may someday become victims individually or as a group. The President must abide by his pledge at subject himself to democratic norms. He cannot be deploying the same draconian tactics of 1984 under the democratic era of 2015.
Recall that on February 10, the APC leader Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu alleged that he was being monitored by the military. Though this was refuted by the military as a ruse. However, the APC tagged it as "criminal" and misuse of the security agencies. In the words of Lagos APC Spokesman Joe Igbokwe
I hope the President learn from the words of his party. Most importantly, he should act like a converted democrat and not a pretentious dictator operating under the cover of "agbada".
May God Almighty Bless Us All Happy Eid To All Muslim Faithfuls
Its dawning on us Nigerians little by Little that this CHANGErians have not changed. we are back to 1984 era. CHANJI indeed. What an absurd enffontry, ransacking an EX-NSA private home, for what, by who,
The outcome of that intervention is the massive improvement being witnessed in power supply.
I have long ago known that you thrive through spreading lies and half truths and you're better ignored most of the times. You're free to continue to wail with your co-wailers anyway.
Which intervention, abeg pack one side, get your facts right before coming here to say one thing. So many areas are experiencing total black out, and you are here talking intervention. Is it to satisfy so segmented places.
How does this change the fact that Okonjo Iweala did not follow due process/Formal procedure or receive authorization while withdrawing the money to pay for subsidy ?? Finance commissioners from the 36 states of the federation have denied granting approval for the withdrawal of $2 billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) as alleged the former minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Okonjo-Iweala had last week said that the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) approved the withdrawal of $2 billion from the ECA. However, the Forum of Commissioners of Finance, a body comprising finance commissioners from the 36 states who are members of the FAAC, in a statement yesterday, said it was unaware of such approval, adding that the FAAC does not have powers to grant such approval.
“We wish to state unequivocally that the FAAC does not have the authority to approve withdrawals from the ECA and therefore could not have approved the withdrawal of the sum of $2 billion from the Excess Crude (Foreign) Account. According to the law setting up the FAAC, which pre-dates the ECA, it cannot approve withdrawal and has not done so in the past. If anything the FAAC, as records of it meetings indicate, had often queried the activities on the ECA, and therefore did not decide any withdrawal,” the statement reads in part.
The commissioners stated that “indeed, the FAAC noted and observed accordingly the withdrawal from the ECA of a total sum of $2 billion in December. “The then minister of finance and chairman of the FAAC when asked during the plenary of the FAAC meetings of the respective months explained that the former president gave approval for the withdrawals from the ECA to pay oil marketers subsidy claims as they had threaten to stop importing petroleum products. According to her, he further explained that this action will be ratified by NEC.” http://www.punchng.com/news/eca-faac-faults-okonjo-iweala-denies-approving-2bn-withdrawal/
Read your write up again and again and answer this Question:
"When the GEJ's government made the said announcement in January this year nobody said a word. Yesterday Madam NOI said the Former President approved the withdrawal of the $2billion to as part of subsidy payment, is it not in line with the FG position in November 2014? Was Oshiomole sleeping all these period? Why then will Gov Oshiomole ask NOI how the money went like he was in exile between 2008 and 2014? If the Governors are saying that FAAC needed to make approval before deduction then why didn't they mentioned it in November 2014 when FG informed them of the proposed withdrawal?
why will you people force your PROPAGANDA and lie on NIGERIAN, which bailout are you talking about, can the FG spend outside the budget without NASS approval. The bailout been peddle about is a legitimate money to be shared among all the three tiers of government.
Toktee: Make Bar-canista and pdp continue crying while baba the work.
Please make your point clear, the soft loan from CBN now, how will they pay it back. Stop bringing in PDP to this issue, so for working for Government, i should still beg and praise them for paying for the work done. Think very well now. The Loan borrowed now and the ECA shared to pay salary now, after now how will they continue to pay the money is the issue here.
WHAT IS THE plan of this state governors to generate more revenue to supplement the monthly revenue from the central. NOTHING.
APC should not take the patience of NIGERIAN for granted ooooooh.
