@DeafandDumb @Williams10

It's so bad the way northerners and easterners see themselves..the mutual distrust is visible to the blind!

But like it has been pointed out, it's our cross

Perhaps, one day gazing into the future like BankPHB that said cars will run on water, an Ibo man will gladly and wholeheartedly break kola for his Hausa brother!

It is possible! Let me have an Amen! grin

why are some people afraid of secession? if any region wish to go so b it, after all it is not by force to stay together as one nation in this 21st century.
From the experiences of Sudan and South Sudan, we need to tread cautiously the secession path.

You are right though, being together is not by force!

And that's the big puzzle we need to solve first.. We always agree to disagree... Lol..
OMG!

You just summarised my point, you know that right!

However, in project management, project team members are supposed to disagree in order to agree!

Seriously, the easy route is to just throw in the towel!

But the 'peak is in us'..we can make some headways here.

I honestly believe that
Politics › Re: True Federalism, Its Advantages And Implications. by engrhorla(m): 12:22am On Jun 14, 2016
Like seriously, our opinions here, as differing and confusing as it is, where a word has different meanings to 2 or 3 people is a typology of what happens in national fora e.g National Assembly. That is the more reason making an headway collectively is an extraneous hard work!

Nigeria is just simply complex! grin

May be you should school me on this topic. Why wouldn't Alex Ekwueme advocated for true federalism when he knew it is the only way biafra could be achieved. if you think true federalism doesn't lead to regionalism then I see no reason why I should continue schooling one who is far from the language of political science.
Well, sir, I am not a political student! But I know little about politics

It is possible that True Federalism can lead to Secession but that could be managed!
The constitution that will be enacted can take care of that.

Definitely there is the bad side of Federalism!

Also, I think Nigeria is somehow too young as a democratic country to practice True fiscal Federalism!

Wow... Thanks a lot Sir.. Am really developing my brains here with great knowledge.. I love it when intelligent minds engage eachother for discourse in a very constructive way..
Thanks onces more Sir.. I appreciate..
I am honoured Madmoiselle!

It's really good honestly!

We have talents here, I mean on this platform

Funny thing is a thought struck me today..that why is it that Nigerians on the streets appear to have solution to certain issues bedevilling the country than our elected leaders!

Stumbling on this thread furthermore proves me right to a certain extent!

Nigeria can be great!

DEAFandDUMB:
But do you think our leaders can actually heed to our cry for true federalism without a total revolution or confrontation?
What do you think Sir?
Our elected leaders can
And they will!

It is highly disastrous for us to let things continue as it is!

Let it be known that achieving true fiscal Federalism entails that we will do away with the present constitution that 'jails a man who steals a goat' but 'sets free a man who steals billions'

The centre can no longer hold!

Hence, we have to somehow devise a way of making these leaders dance to our tune.

The truth of the matter is they won't want to give in easily

Dminister:
Mr man, in a federal system of government structure, the states or units making up the government are called regions and where the overall head of government is called the central also where absolute powers are resided.
The central government cannot remain overall powerfull in true federalism cause it's absolute powers enshrined in exclusive list of the constitution which it legislate alone are also being performed by the regional governments. Therefore, the central government has no absolute power over the states. The central is left with absolute powers in terms of foreign affairs and defence.
I am a political scientist, this is my field.
To corroborate you, Alex Ekwueme was at a function in Enugu where he too clamoured for True Fiscal Federalism as way out of our mess

Why then is someone coming up with another warped definition of federalism?

Naija, hmmmm!

UuzbaGuuzba:
But who is importing these generators? Is it the government? If the generators are not imported, we would not have them. If we didn't have them, we might be forced to manufacture them.

After the 2nd world war, Asian countries sent spies to America to work and LOOK VERY WELL. They worked in factories and took photos of equipment. and wrote detailed notes. This was done for years. These spies all returned to Asia and reported their discoveries to the various industries. The industries just copied and pasted the American industrial models. Na so Toyota start. America first made cars, Japan just copied the "concept" of car over and over again. Na so Panasonic start. Na so Sanyo start, Na so.....

Have Nigerians not travelled enough and don overseas degrees enough to return to industry and paste the information? But when some dude returns with imported generators to sell and make money for himself, then he has destroyed the chance of industry ever getting off it's feet.
You just talked about technology espionage, one of the four ways of technology transfers!

Nice one!

The generators will fizzle out when power is stable

I once stayed in an area in Abuja, we have power for roughly 18hours a day, for real!
If d light goes off for 6hours, we will conclude it's a total blackout
People have generators but they don't use it!
Alas! The transformer got spoilt..
Generator repairers sold like mad! Why? It took 3 months to fix d transformer and people's generators had gone rusty due to lack of usage

But can our governors be able to able to handle such power that comes with true federalism cos most of them might end up getting power drunk and start changing the Government at centre with their new powers.. What roles does our legislators have to play to make this true federalism a reality?
I think Federalism won't delegate all powers to the governors

It will be a regional system, hence there will be a regional head while d governors still exist
Hence d organogram may look like President, Regional heads, governors & LG chairmen

The country will have a currency that will be used in all regions and a common constitution, I suppose

To all those that submitted one or two great points, I say thank you all.. I really do appreciate... I strongly believe that Nigeria will be great again..
I at this moment just stumbled on this discourse!

Thanks for bringing it up!
Though I noticed some distractions (that's normal on this site)

You know what? You have done a great job!

Until the govt sees stable electricity as an asset which will in the short and long term boost our IGR, we will not see power!

For me, they see stable power as luxury!

That is why we have all manners of generators in Nigeria

Crazy machines that you don't find in homes in overseas!

Business › Re: My Terrible Experience With Multilevel Marketing In Nigeria by engrhorla(m):
Here is my story!

Three years ago, I was looking for job..i saw a post on facebook about some job in Gbagada.
I went there..and lo and behold it was GNLD..this is the same GNLD that I know guys who did it back in 2002..

No way! They just wasted my tfare and time.

Truth is, it's bad when these MLMs hide the identities..come out clean.

However, MLM or network marketing is not a bad idea.

Do you know? We are all engaged indirectly in network marketing! Yeah! Ask me how.

As a lady, a tailor sows a cloth for you..you then refer your friend to the tailor..you just did network marketing.
Some of us even tell people to use a particular network for data..that is network marketing.

As a guy, you bought a nice suit..you later took your friend there..this is network marketing

And guess what, we do it freely..how about you earn some money from network marketing!

It is possible.

I am not here to damage your philosophy!

But in this era, if a scheme will guarantee additional income, learn about it

It is my rule of thumb not to engage in an MLM that is about 7years old..you will always be at the base.

Also, don't join an MLM where you sell drugs or supplements or whatever!

And join an MLM that embraces technology where you can monitor your growth anywhere!

Also, no MLM will make you rich all of a sudden! I repeat, NONE!

I can hint you more
