CultureRe: Top 10 Most Spoken Nigerian Languages by EnigmAries(m): 9:00am On Feb 12, 2015
Fulaman198:
Well by population Igbo maybe 2nd (I don't know as Yoruba are bountiful too).

The thing is that respectively, Both Igbo and Yoruba people don't have as much offspring as the Hausa. I don't know if that is due to education or the mentality of being "modernised".

With that said, you are right about the fact that many people who speak Hausa are not even pure Hausa themselves. The number of pure Hausa is unknown really. You have a cluster of smaller minority groups who often want to be clustered with the Hausa, like the Bolewas, Ngas, Tangale, Buras, Ga'anda people, etc. etc. etc. I still live by the statement that the only true Hausa today can be found in the republic of Niger (near areas such as Zinder, Maradi, etc.) and some core parts of Nigeria. However, it is hard to find a Hausa who isn't mixed with a neighbouring ethnic group. The way Hausas are often clustered with Fulanis kind of disgusts me sometimes honestly because they can't differentiate from an Eagle and an Ostrich.

With that said, I also wanted to bring to your attention that many Igbo people of your generation and younger are not caring much for the Igbo language anymore. I've met several Igbo people (work, here in Nigeria, and even in school in the United States) and many of them couldn't even speak Igbo language......I mean no offence, but I believe that any person who can't speak their native language is a disgrace. I say that about everyone Fulani people especially in the North West who can't speak 1 kobo of Fulfulde.

Nigeria's census is indeed a huge issue and needs to be readdressed. But as long as corruption plays a huge part of Nigeria, it may never be even in our young lifetimes.
Remove the bolded from the list. Call a Tangale, hausa and you may be in trouble.

Whoever advises the PDP to push for postponement -using insurgency as an excuse-made a mistake. With these, GEJ will lose another 6 million. Trust the APC to make this backfire at the PDP.

Welcome idea, to protect Nigeria from being taken over by extreme Islamists through election.

Go round the world, an average Somali is more interested and knows more than most Nigerians everything about Nigeria's forthcoming elections, Arab extremists also know.

Nigerians need to ensure that Nigeria does not become like Somalia by refusing to hand Nigeria over to Buhari via election

I'm also in Abuja and I registered in Abuja in 2011, but for political reasons, I have to vote in my PU of origin. I simple went to my state INEC Office, applied for tranfer and provided the details like the LG, ward and the PU I'd like to transfer to and I just got my PVC today. I didn't just appear there today asking for PVC when I know I've not done the necessary thing. If he wants to transfer his voter card to Abuja he should have request to do that in his present location since last year. How can he register in Enugu and want to collect PVC in Abuja? So INEC should tell everyone that registered in Enugu to come to Abuja just because he is in Abuja? It's senseless.

This election will not disintegrate this country. There will be crisis, but it shall pass. What I know for sure is that, a northerner-most certainly Buhari- will preside over the disintegration of Nigeria and the trouble and secession will start from his own region. Let no one deceive you, Buhari will rule again even if it's for a day.

Train never stopped working at any point in time. I was a driver briefly in that sector in 2002, so stop that lie. I urge you to take a train trip from Lagos to Kano. I did and I had to come down in Minna because of brake problem. How can someone dust up the same kind of cabin I travelled in, in 1988 and call that Transformation in 2014? They are matching Buhari for who he truly is.
...and a Sambo is what? And who is matching Buhari here, Sambo or the dull OP? I smell hypocrisy.
The same Buhari who said FG should stop killing Boko haram members is now saying Jonathan has failed to quell the insurgency. Buhari said fighting Boko haram was fighting the north and invariably the muslims: https://www.nairaland.com/2095243/stop-killing-boko-haram-members
Was Buhari right or wrong?
“The appropriate thing to do, according to the law, was for the police to carry out investigations and charge him to court for prosecution, but they killed him, his in-law was killed, they went and demolished their houses.
“Because of that, his supporters resorted to what they are doing today.
I was looking for where Buhari said Boko Haram members should not be punished according to the law in that post, but I could not find it. I guess you don't know that before now, Soldier did go into people's house, bring the men out, gather them in the street, kill them and parade them as insurgents. This was why we had people voluntarily joining the group for revenge. What about the over 200 innocent detainees released recently? Most of them have been there for up to 3 years- among them was a university student arrested in his room while sleeping. I guess the guy will clap for the army for ruining his education. Buhari was right! After the declaration of the SOE, the army went on wasting innocent lives and carrying out cordinated attacks in the name of terrorists just to justify the SOE and huge military budget. I have friends who requested to be transferred because of this, so don't think it's hearsay. Injustice begets injustice and as B. Tukur put it, they are fighting for justice. Even Jonathan said they are his siblings and he can't just unleash the army on them

PoliticsRe: FULL TEXT: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala And The Missing Trillions Pt.1-Chukwuma C. Soludo by EnigmAries(m): 11:57am On Feb 02, 2015
As a Welfare Economist, I knew it's either Madam Ngozi do not know anything about Economics or outrightly telling lies to deceive the people. I challenge her to explain how the masses benefits from the GDP growth rate and government budget when capital expenditure stands below 15% of the total budget. This clearly exposes this government as one that is not interested in investment and saving. Our economic team lacks the basic knowledge of distribution of income and how this type of budget further widens the gap between the rich and the poor. Any improvement-if at all- in the life of an average Nigerian in the last 6 years can only be attributed to individual efforts and will to excel, not "transformation agend." Whatever they mean by transformation in the context of their of governance is debate for another day. It's funny how this government is celebration a single digit growth rate at this stage of our development. They say it's one of the highest in the world and one would ask, what's the population of Nigeria? What's the value of our GDP? And what exactly is the value of the growth? For a nation of 160 million people with huge potentials, it's not out of place if our GDP stands above $1 Trillion then and then we can start dreaming of celebrtating a 7% growth rate.
If Madam Ngozi thinks she is up to her a.ss in alligators, let her drain the pool by accepting this challenge...
Can I propose a three-way debate with you (representing PDP/Federal Government), nominee of APC (Utomi or Fayemi? or any other), and myself (as independent citizen— I don’t belong to any of the two). Let us have two bouts of debate between now and 12th February, 2015 focusing on: CBN/AMCON and the financial system (if you want); our economy and its outlook, and agenda/alternative paths to sustainable prosperity post elections. Choose the dates and times, and for the sake of Nigeria, I will fly in.
I bet she won't coz all the achievements they've been building on lies will be exposed as non-existent.
Prof. Soludo is a man a respect so much. He made CBN an household name with his consolidation policy, just as GEJ made ordinary Nigerian know the meaning of a strickly economic term as subsidy. I was in the University during the Bank consolidation and it was an interesting subject of debate in Macro and Monetary Economics classes. To me, he is the best CBN Governor we've had. I know you are a seasoned Economist and Policy Maker, but Sir, I never knew you also have killer punchs like thisgringringrin
...you are busy dancing Atilogwu dance at TAN and PDP rallies, struggling to keep your job
That's devastasting. grin
Madam Ngozi, the Economics of Nigeria can be reduced to common sense, if only you can half as honest as Prof. Soludo.
