christopher123:One is that freedom of association has nothing to do with Seceding a sovereign state. No one group or state has the right to do that. All Nigerians must have a referendum because this decision affects all Nigerians not just biafrans. Why Nigerians are really skeptical about voting the biafra is not because of oil or whatever. It is simply Nigerians see that the whole Biafra thing will not benefit the common Igbo man who has no political, social or financial interests in all these. It will further oppress them. Secondly, at least more than half of Igbo people say that there is a problem in our constitution and system of govt that marginalizes some groups, not just igbos [MIDDLE-BELTANS] Have never been president too but the answer is not Biafra. Biafra is seeking ethnically clean groups, that is not possible in modern society. They say they do not want Biafra but are not happy with the current way the system is run. That means the problem is with the constitution not tribal. Igbos forget that there are many groups maginalized here. Many, thanks to the corruption of our politicians. We must fight and eradicate corruption across all states from igbo to hausa, chriatain to muslim before we can begin to decide if we split. If there is corruption, and we split, i feel sorry for those who will find themselves in biafra. The will be looted dry. |
hungrynigerian:Is this a rhetorical question or are u paid? Given that for the past 16 years ur economy has been 90% dependent on oil sales and over 95% of our annual GDP is from oil product sales found mostly in these regions at the time, it is safe to say the SS has been the single most important component of the Nigerian economy. the real question that no one wants to ask is killing me. THE SS BRING VALUABLE OIL THE SE ARE VERY PRODUCTIVE AND INDUSTRIOUS WEST HAVE ALWAYS CARRIED AND FOSTERD EDUCATION AND PROGRESS THE MBs HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AT THE FORE-FRONT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD. WHAT HAS THE NORTH BENEFITTED THIS COUNTRY? DENYING THIS IS THE PROBLEM WE HAVE. THAT THE NORTH IS A LEPER WITHOUT THE REST OF NIGERIA. IF WE SPLIT TODAY, ONLY THE NORTH WILL LOOSE. ALL OTHER STATES/GROUPS CAN STAND ECONOMICALLY AND POLITICALLY? WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR IS A NORTHERNER KINDLY CONTRIBUTE TO THIS THREAD AND TELL US. WE DO NOT WANT DENIAL ANYMORE. WE WANT TO HELP. |
ubah84:Am telling u. We must come together, eliminate these people and difine new rules that will benefit everyone in this country. We cannot continue to allow these old fools define the futrue of our generations. Let the SE, SS, NE, NW, W,MB come together and bring the senate down. We would use our own eyes to watch corruption in this country. And if the govt does not answer we will device our means. the senate must be replaced with forward thinking everyday youth between the ages of 25-50 and their salaries must be cut down to minimum wage. Theire allowances must reflect what every day Nigerians are also allowed freely. Nothing more. |
EmeritusMbaM:Becvause senators r meant to be representing us |
modath:Please stop twisting this.. Northerners are united because they r suffering and senators r corrupt. Do not twist this for ur selfish agenda. As I always say, The northerners have realized this. Stand up against ur corrupt senator |
Obiobi8:Nigeria will exist. SE might not exist, but Nigeria will. |
The only eligible candidate is maybe number 6. The rest are either white washed, non-patriotic or corrupt to the core. If we vote Igbo presidency we must be sure that he will not make economic policies that suit igbo people at the expense of national interest. For example decide to import goods as most Igbos are importers rather than promote local production and consumption to grow our currency. Or decide to spend million building a railway connecting all igbo states rather than onitsha to lagos. Production to Exportation. We need to feel like every decision is made for national good and all states are bearing the brunt if a brunt must be carried. So we do not want our presidency tribalized. Now I know some people will call me zombie and how I have been ruled by the north for a long time. True, Nigerians have been ruled by the north oppressively, however i do not believe any Nigerian has ever doubted the loyalty of northerners to country and to nation. And that is where d strain is. Can Nigerians trust. I think a good place to start would be getting Ike (the new almost senate president) To be on the people's side and truly get his senators to represent their people. It is called building trust relationships... |
loopman:I completely agree with u. Either we come up with a new constitution and rules on how we will all live together or everybody should bear their father's name. I mean North has oil now abi? |
Stop forcing this to be a christain muslim thing. All Nigerians know it is not. Stop embarrassing urself |
christopher123:I am really tired of this Biafra posts that absolutely miss the point. Fisrtly OP, u comparing Nigeria and the Igbos to Britain and the EU is unfounded and not even valid. The EU is a group of COUNTRIES formed to facilitate free trade and movement of labour within countries. Each country exist as a sovereign state within the EU. This also means that immigrants to any of these European countries have access to all EU countries. Different countries have different immigration rules and are not comfortable with that. Given that Britain lives on a welfare system, it is of utmost importance they control immigration. That is why Britain is leaving the EU. Not because they are enslaved. Secondly, Britain is a country not a section of a country. The EU is not a country. The EU is exactly the same as the OAU, AU, UN. Any country can leave if they feel the rules are no more convenient. By The way, scotland has been wanting to leave the UK for decades now. But they cannot. A specific part of a country cannot just decide that it wants to leave. You saying that BRITAIN IS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD BCOZ THEY VOTED TO LEAVE THE EU IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT IN THIS CONTEST. When Britain lets scotland go, then u can make that argument. The current constitution is written to reflect all resources, needs, players of all sections of the country. Any part leaving is denying everybody else in the country their fundamental rights of association by birth. The matter of seceding must be planned in a gradual process. there are others in this country too u know. an cutting any part of nigeria away is like saying "the rest of u can die, we do not care". And also pitching this problem as a religious divide is a new low. The corruption in nigeria has nothing to do with religion and tribe. Even if u go to Biafra I can assure u that nothing will come out of it. Because u guys brought up the concept of Biafra to solve a problem that does not exist. You have failed to identify the problem and this pride and hatred may lead to unfounded events that does not benefit the people but satisfies personal political interests. |

tsdarkside:Because he was moving for Nigerians. Alternatively if he still has his valid Nigerian Passport |
I know some of you may be wondering why the brutal topic? As i sat in my living room watching channels faceoff, there was an argument between the Head of CACOL and senator Paul Oni. I cried from pain as my heart was crushed. CACOL asked Oni, CACOL: "Is it fair for the senate to purchase these cars with hungry people in this country" ONI: "Well the ministers and the executive are buying why shouldn't we"? CACOL: "We are not represented by the ministers and Executive, we are represented by you" Basically, He diverted the topic to economic situation and no light, no fuel. CACOL brings the topic back CACOL: "We are talking of cars bought, not economic situation, they are not related" ONI: "It is our right to buy the cars." Look people the discussion took long, but in all the senators were very not concerned about what the people thought. Even after CACOL pointed out that over 80% of Nigerians live on less than $2 dollars a day. Oni was not interested in the people, he was interested in defending the senate saying that PDP rule was good for the country and things were fine under PDP rule. My heart sunk in pain. I am writing with tears in my eyes, that Nigerians have to play numb to these hopeless sub-humans. We might have to use one senator as an example to prove this point. It is like this thing is not working. They need to be beaten up and beaten up properly. Really seriously. No one will understand this except u watched that program. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING NOW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BmLPmDsx6o&index=1&list=PLEF485CE28000E404 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2dmVQOtCac&list=PLEF485CE28000E404&index=2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uKuTN72xio&index=3&list=PLEF485CE28000E404 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS1l7X_Wah4&list=PLEF485CE28000E404&index=4 |
tsdarkside:I think his passport should be renewed. Afterall he was fighting for Nigerians and this is true pain that Nigerians feel |
Just a point of Note. I am not trying to undermine but just so u know OP, Saraki did not pay the hired crowd that cheered for him outside the court o. They were angry and asked for their N1000 but he didnt give. Just telling u to make sure u collect ur money first b4 u begin d campaign/propaganda. |
tsdarkside:Please do not regard TANTUMERGO007 as valid. He is a paid hired e-robot |
kingzizzy:Kanu is a british citizen. His coming to Nigeria as a British citizen to threaten the Sovereign govt was by all international standards an act of terrorism. And the British know better than to support him because that would simply mean accepting responsibility and finances for all damages caused by Nnamdi Kanu. The only way the British can avoid this is to say he acted alone out of his own accord. If he had taken time to actually think this process out he would have recognized that he has no rights in Nigeria. Unfortunately, Nnamdi Kanu is not bound by the Nigerian constitution as a citizen but as international threat given he is not a Nigerian. The British would have negotiate his release or Nnamdi would be tried as a foreigner posing and international threat. Right now he is simply a foreigner that have threatened the security of a foreign sovereign state. Boko Haram, Tompolo and Niger Delta avengers may get Amnesty because they are Nigerians and are protected by the laws here. Again I do not hate anyone just pointing out the reality of things. |
tuniski:I am not against PMBs policies. They r good policies. However, political swabbles is stalling development and actual implementation of policies into reality. We only care about reality and this govt must deliver. |
lionshare:Well they r building it and currently lobbying to capitalize it. I am not trying to insult u, just saying let us all try hard to identify what is important and fight for it. The govt made us go thru this suffering with the promise that they will stop importing fuel and make our refinaries work. Now they r saying "The Govt Does not have the means to run a refinary". They are mad. All these corrupt politicians will continue to play this useless game until we know and demand our rights. Instead, pressure them to make the refinaries work. If they cannot make it work, they should be sacked. Those refinaries must work. We are not accepting anything less. And it must not be controlled by Dangote. It must be state owned so our hardwork as a nation will determine how much we buy feul not capitalist oligarchs like dangote seeking to economically and socially enslave populations. |
akinjuly77:So ur senators sitting in the senate house while this bill is being passed lknowing that their people do not want it, what have they done? These useless people sit there and allow rubbish to pass bcoz they have financial interests. |
How can u say the president and minister should be sacked because of fuel scarcity? Please countries in the world have had to sacrifice worse to achieve economic growth. In the so called America u see today, workers and mass groups of human beings had to die, be burnt alive, be dragged on a horse, to achieve what u see there today. Nigerians, complaining at any given chance. What have u OP done to help matters? U sit and complain and wait for someone to give u everything on a silver plater. MSTWEE. please suck it up. |
Igbos are so self absorbed that that they cannot even see that all these do not really matter anymore. Your state governors have been given state allocations and money. Where is it? What does a war that happened decades ago have to do with the corruption of state governors in the area? What did Ojukwu himself do to stop the war? You are screaming and carrying a self-imposed pain in your heart forgetting that all black people on earth have had to live centuries of dying, poverty, racism and discrimination. The black people in America can explain their pain to you. People might accuse me of hating igbos, i do not hate any. I only speak the truth. All the allocations that have been to all states in Nigeria to develop, where r they. These politicians and elites make pple believe that our problem is tribal or religious when it has absolutely nothing to do with that. This Akpabio that is even speaking is emphasing on the financial gains rather than the psychological trauma the igbo had to endure. Was it about the £20 pounds or about the feeling and scar that may have remained? While we are here screaming and killing ourselves, Ali Modu Sherrif: Has looted and made enough money to last his 10 generations a life time. Akpabio himself: Same as above Saraki, Mark, PMB, Fayose, Wike, Ameachi, Iman of North, Emir of north, Pastors in the west, Tinubu, Senate members, Ministers. They are all getting richer and robbing us blind, then giving us a distraction (Saraki) to hide their own corruption. Fact is northern leader will gladly take holy communion if it got them billions in their account and southern leaders would gladly kiss the koran and accept Jihad if u tell them they will get trillions of dollars. We at the bottom remain deprived and exploited and used as political tools expendable to death. This what is happening. And it has nothing to do with political parties, religon or tribe. It is that 165 Central banks in the world is owned by one man. That our economy is becoming capitalized and we are being turned into cheap expendible labour. That 80% of Nigeria's wealth belong to less than 1% of the population. That 90% of the world's wealth belongs to 1% of the world. The politicians and Americans screaming BIAFRA, CHIBOOK, HUMAN RIGHTS, do not care about Biafra. Biafrans have wanted freedom since 1967, nobody cared, why now? That Nnamdi Kanu, Tompolo, Mohammed Yusuf who are the closest things in society to giving their own people a voice can be classed as terrorists and jailed but there is no trial for Panama looters, and we have to wait 1 year to send Saraki to jail. So their continued theft and enslavement is dependnt on how effectively they can manipulate populations. All these propaganda has absolutely nothing to do with biafra and if the Biafra was being driven truly for the interest of biafrans i would be at the fore-front. I myself is tired of northern oppression. But this is all about selfish interest. There are only two sides to this war: THE POLITICIANS/ELITE VS THE PEOPLE. The earlier we realize this and begin to demand our rights, the better for us. Biafrans/ Boko/ can divide, that will not stop the political/elite class from exploiting us. Even if we go and they still continue their corruption across borders nko? SMH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqDhyp8-93w |
Amnesty International can die if they like. When the USA was destrying and killing Iraquis and the KKK was roasting black slaves alives, Amnesty did not fight for their "Human Rights". What the people being killed across Nigeria by Fulani Herdsmen? Now they want to de-moralize our army. Nigeria is not ruled by foreign laws or constitutions. We have our own constitution. Anybody that does not like or cannot behave themselves should move away. The ICC can kiss my ass. Nigeria is no longer in the ICC? So they have no jurisdiction. These US people. The further u r from the US, the better off you are. Nigerians must learn this |
This video made me laugh.... Funny you need to see this.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWmytwIfb2s |
Like I will always do, put thing in perspective. So with the current unfolding events in Nigeria that seem to resemble those of Libya, Syria, Iran and Iraq, if not for the willingness and strength of patriotic Nigerians, I found it necessary to research what our problems was. As you all know, the economy is not designed to served Human beings but the wealthy elite and while we are here screaming IPOB, BOKO, JIHAD, MILITANTS, HERDSMEN, our politicians get richer. This study also shows something interesting: "The Further you are from the United States, the better off you are" http://www.cepal.org/en/infographics/poverty-latin-america Before reading further, watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mhj-j0z-fk Now, the greatest mistake we make is to think that there are sides to this war. There is nothing like APC, PDP, LP, there is nothing like ISLAM AND CHRISTAINITY, these people all work for the same people THE GLOBAL CAPITAL OLIGARCHS DESPERATELY SEEKING GLOBALIZATION OF THE WORLD. There are only two sides to this war, THE PEOPLE AND THE POLITICAL/ELITE CLASS. How have these people done it over the centuries? Again watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYBJDRmSMRY What are the facts here? Ali Modu Sheriff whose betrayal of Mohammed Yusuf led to what we now know as Boko Haram, has been greatly enriched with wealth from illegal oil practices in lake chad. PMB, Saraki, Wike, Ameachi, Dangote, Tinubu, Pastors, Osibanjo, all of them politicians across states and religions are getting richer and we remain the sheep at the bottom fighting for them. Now APC, PDP, LP, Any ACRONYM, when they run for elections are not really fighting for you. Their success is largely dependent on how effectively they can manipulate and skew public's opinions and beliefs. So ur govt does NOT infact work for you but for the capitalist elite whose interests supasses all. For the U.S.A this would be the Rothchilds, Rockefellars, Ford, The oil seven sisters. For Nigeria this would be Dangote, Tinubu, Inegbese. There is no conspiracy theory here, it is a general norm on which all governments silently agree to. PROTECT THE INTERESTS OF THOSE WHO MAKE MONEY FOR THE ECONOMY REGARDLESS OF THE SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC COSTS. So Boko, Ipob, Militants are really all fighting for the same thing in their own ways. Elimination of oppression and inequality by a set of global elite who have decided to cling to power and loot Nigeria dry at any cost. WE MUST BEGIN TO FORM UNIONS TO DEMAND OUR RIGHTS. REGARDLESS OF THE POLITICAL ACRONYM IN POWER. ALL YOUNG PEOPLE EVERYWHERE SHOULD BEGIN TO FORM UNIONS ACROSS STATES, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. WE WILL FIGHT FOR OURSELVES. BCOZ TRULY NOBODY IS FIGHTING FOR US. WHEN THERE IS A RISE IN UNIONS THEY BEGIN TO ANSWER US. |
blackpanda:It gives him the perceived justification of egocentric sepremacy which he would rather have Dan prosper. Hate drives his criticism so it is biased and flawed |
tuniski:Majority Nigerians stand firm with d govt despite dd suffering. Any group that tries to distabilize d incoming system will be treated like boko, Shiites, Fulani etc |
AirFireEarthH20:Bcoz all Nigerians know why we r suffering. We r hungry n dying but we will take DAT over PDP rule. We want d system free of corruption. |
tigerclaws:Please do everyone a favour n shut up thanks. Wait wen KANU realises Biafra u can go. Let's us build our country. |

I wonder too. But did he collect is what we do not know. And "Humaritarian aid" in politics is not help. Plz read a book. In international relations, aid (also known as international aid, overseas aid, foreign aid or foreign assistance) is – from the perspective of governments – a voluntary transfer of resources from one country to another. Aid may serve one or more functions: it may be given as a signal of diplomatic approval, or to strengthen a military ally, to reward a government for behaviour desired by the donor, to extend the donor's cultural influence, to provide infrastructure needed by the donor for resource extraction from the recipient country, or to gain other kinds of commercial access. Humanitarian and altruistic purposes are at least partly responsible for the giving of aid. Aid may be given by individuals, private organizations, or governments. Standards delimiting exactly the types of transfers considered "aid" vary from country to country. For example, the United States government discontinued the reporting of military aid as part of its foreign aid figures in 1958. The most widely used measure of aid are "Official Development Assistance" and "Humanitarian aid". |
