Boomplay 2018 Nigeria Music Facts – Boomplay released its annual stats, Davido, Simi, Adekunle Gold, Reekado Banks, and DMW tops the list of trending songs in Nigeria, see details below.

The Nigerian Music Scene is by far, the most prominent in Africa, with apps like Boomplay which has more than 10 million users from Nigeria which makes a total of 38 million in Africa.

Boomplay holds the No 1 spot as the fastest growing music service in Africa and comes preinstalled with the likes of itel, TECNO and Infinix devices.

It has been an amazing year for Nigerian musicians, especially with regards to the fact, that well over 583,000 user generated playlist came from this great country.

Competitions this year, is quite exciting. We have the likes of Wizikid receiving the highest amount of nominations in the 2018 Soundcity MVP Awards which includes Best Pop, Best Male MVP, Digital artiste of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Listener’s choice, viewers choice and African artiste of the Year

Nigerian artistes, Burna Boy and Davido are also topping the lists of nominations and has also been nominated for the position of African artiste of the year. Tecno, from the results of the research, is the dominant brand in the Nigerian market. At the moment, 41 percent of mobile phones in Nigeria are Tecno-branded devices.
