PhonesLeaked Design Of The Upcoming Phantom Smartphone Appeared Online by enny66(op): 4:46pm On Oct 20, 2017
It’s one year already yet it still seems like yesterday when TECNO Mobile released the then industry leading smartphone – the Phantom 6 smartphones which debuted dual rear cameras of exceptional configurations, high-end features and stylish slender design in Dubai. The Phantom 6 was one of the best things that happened to the smartphone market in September 2016 when it was launched at the Burj Khalifa, Dubai.

This year, smartphone followers and the media at large has kept a close eye on the mobile brand to get firsthand information about the next Phantom – launch location, model name, price and most importantly product design. With the new spy images of the next Phantom circulating online, it is safe to say that we finally have a peep into the highly anticipated device.

The latest Phantom is very slim and retains the flagships typical uni-body design from its predecessors. Its dual rear cameras have been completely redesigned and are positioned horizontally at the top left of the device’s rear. The cameras do not bulge and interestingly, the device is wrapped with a full metal glossy body.

Really, the released spy pictures bring a lot to bare regarding the luxury finishing of the device and users can only be left to imagine what the internal specs of the device, its fluidity, swag, functionality and price will be like; I don’t think we will have to wait for long though because the launch is around the corner.

Music/RadioDownload M.I Abaga New Track Titled "You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives" by enny66(op): 12:54pm On Oct 20, 2017

M.I Abaga and his record label, Chocolate City, are suing Queenbridge legend Nas, real name Nasir Jones.

M.I and Chocolate City have filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court claiming Nas didn’t deliver the verse they wanted. In the lawsuit, which was filed in the New York State Supreme Court, Nas and Mass Appeal Records’ Ronnie Goodman are accused of duping Chocolate City after they had paid the rapper $50,000 for the verse.

Read also Is Olamide the most hardworking artist in Nigeria?

According to the lawsuit, in 2013, Nas and Goodman entered an agreement to contribute a verse to a track from M.I. The details of the deal were that Nas was supposed to mention “M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York—NAS’s hometown—, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and the struggles of Africans and African Americans” in his verse.

Nas went on to deliver a verse but it didn’t mention any of the subject matter Chocolate City had asked for.The Nigerian label requested that the Queens rapper to re-record the verse, and three year later, it hasn’t happened despite them delivering the $50,000 payment. Hence, that’s why they’re now suing him, they mention.

In the lawsuit, Chocolate City is very complementary to Nas. They called him “a highly respected lyricist in the music industry” and wrote that they wanted a verse from him “because of NAS’s exceptional talent as a lyric writer.” Unfortunately, according to Chocolate City, that talent and lyricism was not evident in the verse they got.

EducationTstv User Review: The David To Dstv’s Goliath; All You Need To Know by enny66(op): 9:14am On Oct 08, 2017
TSTV, Telecom Satellite television, an indigenous company providing Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite television service has finally announced the much anticipated roll out date of its decoders as Wednesday, 1st November, 2017. The decoders will be available to customers in select locations across the country as well as in the nation’s capital. With its promise of numerous exciting packages,
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Bright Echefu, also revealed the plan to give out and install 5000 free decoders to customers in a bid to test the strength of their signals in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Abuja before eventual roll-out to other parts of the country.
What does TStv offer?
Social media was abuzz when the company first indicated it was bringing the first pay-as-you-consume satellite television service to Nigeria on 1st October, 2017. The service includes a pause subscription feature – a model which the operators of DStv have failed to provide to the Nigerian consumers for years. Customers are assured of satellite television experience in both standard definition (SD) and High definition(HD) on any of the very affordable packages on TStv.
Multi-purpose Step-up Box (STB) Decoder.
The Step-up Box decoders comes with a 50GB storage space for recorded content, pause and rewind features, wireless hotspot capabilities and a camera for Video conferencing and streaming of videos online. Consumers will be able to use the complimentary 20GB data on 4.5G LTE network every time they purchase a subscription plan on TStv. This is a welcome development at a time Nigerians are complaining of high cost of data and poor network coverage and download speeds. The data service on TStv is extendable upon request.
Lowest Subscription Costs in the Market.
The recent hike in subscription costs across all packages on DStv and GOtv showed how much the consumers are at the mercy of the operators of the two major satellite television providers in the Nigerian market. This apparent monopoly is what TStv intends to break with its rich yet affordable packages.
The maximum subscription plan on TStv goes for a fee of ₦3,000; while DStv’s mid-ranged subscription packages cost a lot higher (DStv Compact and Compact plus (₦6,300 and ₦9,900 respectively). When you throw in the complimentary data, the pause subscription feature as well as the pay-per-view billing system on TStv, there is no doubt the consumer is set to get maximum value for their money.

Science/TechnologyMulti-tasking Just Get Better, Check Out Ios 11 Review by enny66(op): 8:55pm On Sep 24, 2017
This year, apple decided to add another member to their OS family, the iOS 11. This is the eleventh major release of the iOS mobile operating system, being the successor to iOS 10.

It was announced and the first beta version released to developers at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 5, 2017, with a public beta released in late June, and a stable version for consumers was released in most countries on September 19, 2017. Some countries got the update on September 20, 2017.

Now apple made a lot of changes and tweaks on the iOS 11, which would take a long time to fully list, but in this review, we would just be highlighting some of them.

Here are some of the changes on iOS 11:

Lock screen and Notification
Lock screen and Notification Center are combined, allowing all notifications to be displayed directly on the lock screen. Scrolling up and down will either show or hide notifications.

Animoji
This is one of the exciting things to look out for in the iOS 11. Apple combines emoji with animations, and it takes advantage of the iPhone X's 3D face-scanning TrueDepth camera array. The result is Animoji, which tracks the muscles in your face to animate the emoji.

Developer APIs
A new "ARKit" application programming interface (API) lets third-party developers build augmented reality apps, taking advantage of a device's camera, CPU, GPU, and motion sensors. The ARKit functionality is only available to users of devices with Apple A9 and later processors. This is because "these processors deliver breakthrough performance that enables fast scene understanding and lets you build detailed and compelling virtual content on top of real-world scenes." Can’t wait to use this feature.

Control Center
The Control Center redesign unifies its pages and allows users to 3D Touch (or long press on devices without 3D Touch) buttons for more options. Sliders adjust volume and brightness. The Control Center is customizable via the Settings app, and allows more settings to be shown, including cellular service, Low Power Mode, and a shortcut to the Notes app.

Siri
Siri is now smarter! The intelligent personal assistant now has a more natural voice and support language translation, with English, Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish available at launch. It will also support follow-up questions by users (this has been one of the major setbacks of Siri). Users will also be able to type to Siri.
Siri will be able to use "on-device learning", a privacy-minded local learning technique to understand a user's behavior and interests inside different apps, to offer better suggestions and recommendations.

Camera
iOS 11 introduces optical image stabilization, flash photography and high dynamic range for portrait photos. Live Photos receives new "Loop", "Bounce" and "Long Exposure" effects, and uses High Efficiency Image File Format to decrease photo sizes. Videos will be encoded in the new High Efficiency Video Coding video compression format, enabling improved quality while also decreasing size by half.
Live Photos, the feature that adds a bit of motion magic to still photos, is even better in iOS 11. For the first time, you can use a slider to select a portion of the Live Photo that looks the best. Since Live Photos are essentially short videos, it's like pulling the best still shot out of a video.
This is a nice change for images where the key photograph might have been blurred, because now you can select a non-blurry section of the

image.
For iPhones that support Portrait Mode, iOS 11 brings some important improvements. Image quality has been improved, low light performance is better, and Portrait Mode images support optical image stabilization. Flash works in Portrait Mode for the first time, and it also supports HDR for even better lighting and filters for adding flare.
When you FaceTime someone in iOS 11 on a device that's capable of taking Live Photos, there's a new button for capturing a Live Photo during the chat.

Settings
A new "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode has been added and it lets users block unnecessary notifications as long as their iPhone is connected to a vehicle through Bluetooth. An auto-reply feature sends a specific reply to senders of messages to let them know the user is currently unavailable through text.

Science/TechnologyAndroid Vs Ios: Battle For Supremacy by enny66(op): 2:09pm On Sep 07, 2017
One of the most common tech argument you can easily get into is which is superior, Google’s Android or Apple’s iOS. While most iPhones users would defend their OS, android users too tend to lay the same claim that their OS is superior.

Unfortunately for consumers, it’s more difficult than ever to jump from one OS to the other. When picking up a new handset, most people are likely to stick to what they know, and with good reason: moving wholesale from one platform to the other can be a real pain.

In this review, we are going to establish which is the superior, not based on assumptions or hearsay, but based on facts obtained from reliable sources.

ANDROID VS IOS: THE ORIGIN
Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Initially developed by Android Inc., which Google bought in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007, along with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance – a consortium of hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. The first Android phone, the T-Mobile G1 (or the HTC Dream in the US) appeared in September 2008, the operating system has gone through multiple major releases, with the current version being 7.0 “Nougat”, released in August 2016. On the other hand, iOS (formerly iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple Inc. exclusively for its hardware. It is the operating system that presently powers many of the company’s mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Originally unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone, iOS has been extended to support other Apple devices such as the iPod Touch (September 2007) and the iPad (January 2010). Major versions of iOS are released annually. The current version, iOS 10, was released on September 13, 2016.
So we can say though they were unveiled almost at the same time, the IOS launched before the Android.

ANDROID VS IOS: THE BASICS
The basic software experience is actually fairly similar between Android and iOS. Aside from the initial setup, users are greeted by a lock screen, requiring a swipe gesture or authentication challenge to enter the system. Once inside, you get a Homescreen or two and some apps. Everything from your system settings to your favorite game or social media program is made available through individually installed and updateable programs, and each ecosystem has an attached store to install from a collection of over a million other apps. Apps generally run in fullscreen mode and, for the most part, you can only really use one app at a time. That is not to say that you cannot multi-task, just that without the latest of iOS software and devices, specialized apps on Android or the latest Android 7 Nougat installed, only one app displays on screen, your other ‘multi-tasking’ apps will need to run in the background. This is ideal for music players or file downloads, but means you cannot, generally speaking, have a spreadsheet and a text document on screen at the same time. Luckily, this is changing, as the latest versions of both operating systems are incorporating split screen app usage.

ANDROID VS IOS: USAGE

Both Android and IOS’s user interface is mainly based on direct manipulation, using touch gestures that loosely correspond to real-world actions, such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects, along with a virtual keyboard for text input. In addition to touchscreen devices, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Android Wear for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on game consoles, digital cameras, PCs and other electronics. While Interaction with the IOS includes gestures such as swipe, tap, pinch, and reverse pinch, all of which have specific definitions within the context of the iOS operating system and its multi-touch interface. Internal accelerometers are also used by some applications to respond to shaking the device (one common result is the undo command) or rotating it in three dimensions (one common result is switching between portrait and landscape mode). Apple has been significantly praised for incorporating thorough accessibility functions into iOS, enabling users with vision and hearing disabilities to properly use its products.
Looking at the added functionality of usage by people with hearing and vision disability, the IOS also scores higher than the Android. But also looking at other functionality support (TV, cameras etc.), the android outshines the IOS.

ANDROID VS IOS: VERSIONS
Beginning with the first commercial Android device in September 2008, Android operating system has gone through multiple major releases from version 1-7, with the current version being 7.0 “Nougat”, released in August 2016. Rumours of Android O is circulating, nothing concrete yet. As for the IOS, major versions are also released annually. The current version, iOS 10, was released on September 13, 2016. It is available for the iPhone 5 and later iPhone models, the fourth-generation iPad, the iPad Air and iPad Air 2, the iPad Pro, the iPad Mini 2 and later iPad Mini models, and the sixth-generation iPod Touch. Its successor, iOS 11, was announced on June 5, 2017, with a consumer release set for late 2017. Recent updates to both operating systems have added a ton of new functionality and features that out-do their respective predecessors. Multi-tasking is the name of the game on Android and APIs for Siri are the big news on the iOS side. There is way more to each OS update, but these are, I believe, the key features. Starting with iOS 10, which began hitting devices in September, there were many little improvements and more than a few updates to system apps like Safari, News, Music and more. Lift to wake uses sensors to identify when you lift the device up to face you, turning the display on for you. Handy, but, truth told, a feature that has been around in Android for a while, if only only a select few devices. Moving over to Android Nougat, and more specifically Android 7.1 as found on the Pixel phone announced in October, the personal assistant theme prevails with Google Assistant. What you may know as Google Now, a voice search tool with some basic functionality beyond search, the bump up to Assistant takes things to a similarly new world. We’ve been waiting on this since Google teased it at Google I/O earlier in the year, a voice search tool that can live on more than just your handheld device – look for Google Home and more – that can handle everything from reading you the news, reminding you your schedule for the day, all the way up to playing music or casting your favorite movie on the big screen. Updates to the OS, which are only a month old themselves, include muti-tasking features that include split-screen functionality, for some apps at least, and new functionality to the Recents button – just double tap to jump between your two most recently used apps. The Notification Shade, Quick Settings and main Settings have been revamped for easier navigation and customization as well.
The IOS has more versions than the Android but the android seems to have more functionalities

ANDROID VS IOS: FEATURES
Since Google decided to spin its main apps out of Android, the mobile OS itself is essentially just the app launcher and the Settings screen. In contrast, iOS updates still include updates to Mail, Maps, Safari, Notes, News and all the other apps you get with the software. As we’ve noted, Google gives users and app developers more flexibility in terms of editing the way the OS works (default apps, lock screens, widgets and so on) – on iOS, you’re pretty much stuck with the way Apple wants to do things (which for many users is just fine).

ANDROID VS IOS : PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Visually, Android’s Material Design offers a more colourful, well-defined visual interface than iOS, which hasn’t had a major overhaul since 2013. Apple’s OS is all translucent shades and thin lines, Google’s is blocky card shapes and bold headings and fonts.

ANDROID VS IOS : MULTITASKING
Both OSes handle multitasking in similar ways and iOS has also added a back button of its own in recent times. Both have battery saving features, mobile payments support, digital assistants, and the ability to back up all of your precious data to the cloud automatically.

ANDROID VS IOS : ECOSYSTEM
Both Google and Apple want to lock you into their respective app ecosystems, but Apple is far more serious about it: you won’t find support for iCloud or Apple Mail on Android, whereas all of Google’s apps are available (and run very well) on iPhones and iPads.

PhonesTECNO Spark Full Review, Specifications And Price by enny66(op): 11:54am On Sep 07, 2017
TECNO SPARK/SPARK PLUS
It came as a surprise to everyone when barely a month after the silent launching of a W series (WX) into the Nigerian market, Tecno hit the market again with a Bang! This time, with an entirely new series called the Tecno Spark Series. It comes in two variances, Spark and Spark Plus. The two series they said are targeted towards the youths and social media enthusiasts. It came not as a surprise when Tecno Mobile decided to throw an all-night party launch at the Muri Okunola park in Lagos inviting various university students instead of the regular indoor launch to unveil the device.

OPERATING STSTEM
It runs on a stock ROM. Although it is partly customized with the Tecno's HiOS, its major functionalities are still on the stock ROM. The only places you find the HiOS customization is on the Start screen, Home Screen and Menu UI. The Camera, swipe down menu, settings all carry the Stock ROM interface.

DESIGN
This is one of the strengths of the device. It has an iPhone like design that looks and feels sleek. Tecno got a plus on that. It’s an amazing design. With or without the transparent rubber half-casing, it’s a device that would catch the eye of any one that sees it. One cool thing I would like you to try; at night, with the rubber casing on, put on the flashlight and place the device (face up) on a surface. The flashlight scatters round the casing and creates a beautiful view.

CAMERA
The camera of the Tecno Spark series is a little bit above average. It comes with a 13mp rear camera and a 5mp front camera with Screen Flash. Both the front and back camera comes with a soft led flashlight for amazing photographs as night. The camera is not too wow compared to the Camon CX but it does a pretty good job.

GAMING EXPERIENCE
It should be noted that the Tecno Spark Series is not a gaming device, yet it performs above average in the aspect of gaming performance. Games like Zombie Highway 2, Temple Run, Subway Surfer, Asphalt 8, Turbo Car Traffic 3D, Hill Climb 2 (All these games were tested on it) and it didn’t lag. However, games like D-Day with heavy graphics couldn’t load.

WHATS NEW?
T-POINT
The T-point is a shortcut link that has all your favourite apps, all in one place... A floating bar! All you need to do to activate it is simple. You launch the app and enable it. Then select the apps you want to be on it (Max of cool. That's all! So any time you need to quickly switch to another app, just click on the floating bar and switch! A long press on the floating bar would activate your flashlight. You can also change the floating bar colour to any colour of your choice. Also, the T-point could also be useful when you have a bad or faulty touch pad as there is a "Back" and "Recent" button present on it.

TRANSFER APP
The new innovation called the Transfer app present on the Tecno Spark is astounding. Like we all know, changing to a device could be a pain in the neck especially when you have to move your files and documents to the new device. Even if you succeed in moving your files, important information stored in the text messages and call logs are lost in the process. People lose very important information like passwords, OTP codes and love messages in the process. With this app, you don't need to stress yourself. Just mark and send.
It helps you transfer call logs, text messages, wallpapers etc. Your new device would feel like the old device clone. It works using a barcode system where the new device scans the old devices’ barcode on the app. The only problem you could have experienced (not having the app on the old device) has been solved by providing an option to send the app to the old phone.

E-MANUAL
Another exciting thing to look out for on the Tecno Spark is the e-manual. While unboxing the Tecno Spark, you would notice that there was no manual in the box. This is because Tecno decided to inculcate the manual inside the device by making it an app.
The idea of an e-manual might not sound too wow to you until you open it... Everything is so clear and makes you want to read it. Also, environmental conservationists have been clamouring for this for a while now, so am sure this would bring a smile to their faces. You would be amazed at the amount of trees felled yearly to produce manual some people never read. This is a real plus for Tecno Mobile and I hope they continue in this trend.

RECHARGE KING
One of the most annoying thing problem you can face is recharging your device using the recharge card. You might not see it as a big deal until you have to do your monthly data subscription and you get to the vendor and he tells you he only has lower denominations and you have to keep loading the recharge card one after the other.
Well, Tecno practically solved the problem by including a new app on the Spark series called Recharge King. All you need to is scan and click send. The interface allows you to select the network you want to recharge based on the sim present in your device. There is even an added functionality where you can put on the phone’s touch in case you want to use the app in the night.
