Been getting so worried, just had a thought to check the EFCC thread. Been trying my sister's two lines. My parents have been calling me, whilst trying her lines. Nna na wa, if the test is continuing tomorrow or they are still writing by this time, then shame on them. They simply have no regard for the applicants or their parents/guardians. Look at me thinking of leaving early to the bus park tomorrow. The poor girl left since Friday, no extra wears, nothing. |
Lol! And here I was thinking I was the only one. Got a mail friday evening that N3000 would be deducted from my account on Monday for recharge but that it would not affect my main balance. I called gtconnect to be sure and the lady who answered repeated the same thing like thrice, leading me to happily end the call. Tuesday evening, I got a N3000 debit alert that affected my main balance. Rectified the matter yesterday but the experience has scarred me because I rarely move around with cash preferring instead to do most of my transactions online. I would stop recharging via GT for now, I don't like stories that touch |

What a good read! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the writer wrote so well that I could imagine myself there when it happened. I am happy they weren't killed whilst in jail as I am afraid that might have been the issue were they jailed in Nigeria. They were brave young men though misguided and idealistically foolish. |
Not only is he good, he's got a great sense of humor |

The important thing to note is that adequate steps were taken because the well-being of patients is vital. |
The first all-out doctors' strike in the NHS's history has begun in England. Thousands of junior doctors walked out of both routine and emergency care at 08:00 BST in protest at the imposition of a new contract from the summer. It is the first time services such as A&E, maternity and intensive care have been hit in the long-running dispute. NHS bosses believe plans are in place to ensure safety, but say the situation will be monitored closely during the stoppage which ends at 17:00 BST. Further all-out strike action is due to take place on Wednesday, between the same hours. Hospitals can request that junior doctors return to work if needed, but as yet no NHS trust has raised the alarm. NHS England said "military level" contingency planning had been carried out to protect urgent and emergency care. Steps taken include: *The postponement of nearly 13,000 routine operations and more than 100,000 appointments to free up staff *The cancellation of holidays and study leave *Redeployment of consultants, middle-grade doctors and nurses into emergency care *More GP appointments being kept free for last-minute requests *An increase in 111 staff rostered on to allow the phone service to handle more calls Patients are being urged to think carefully about how they use the NHS during the strike - a website has been set up giving patients details about what services are available where they live. NHS England's Anne Rainsberry said: "Clearly industrial action of this type can put significant pressure on the NHS. We have been working with all hospitals to make sure they have plans in place to provide urgent and emergency care." She said those plans were "robust" and hospitals were "confident" they could cope, but the situation would be kept under review. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-36134103 |

No reason was given by your dad? No one can give you sound advice with incomplete info |
Most people have replied well. While I do not expect you to lick the ground your brother walks on, but you have no right to be rude. He is your brother not your father, and since he is married, he also has other responsibilities, and his wife takes precedence over you as it should be. Now, when you replied asking him why he was shouting, ask yourself, would you have replied your father that way? And if you had replied your father, and your mum came out to scold you, would you have contemptuously told her off? I know Nigerians feel entitled without knowing they are in the wrong, so I choose to think you do not know how wrong you are. This might even help you in advising someone else you might come across. And please, it isn't easy feeding two people in these times, talk more of feeding extra mouths. Sometimes, I send my brothers to the little market close to me, so they'd know things have gone up. Do you know how frustrating it would have been for me if I had brothers or a sister who felt entitled to my money? So know this, if N20k used to feed the four of you before, now it no longer can conveniently. You do not know how many times in the privacy of their room, they might have had to cut down on a budget, just so some things will still be alright. So think rent, think household operating expenses, think light bill, think fuel, think tfare, think school fees, think food, think beauty and toiletries, think offering and tithe, think allowances, think in-laws, think unaccounted for miscellanous ...and tell me why you shouldn't appreciate your brother and his wife. So, don't be tired, don't have airs, don't be entitled; be grateful and teach your younger brother the same! |
DMLords:Did you laugh out loud? That's what I meant by NOT outrightly funny. It is lightly funny because you get to smile. |
![]() It isn't outrightly funny but lightly so...don't worry most of those who commented first are too 'angry' or 'overwhelmed', so do not hold it against them |
