hensben: That he doesn’t have genuine love for messi due to rivalry whereas messi always talk good about him, which simply he knows that messi is the si unit, he is the one competing and trying to catch up.
patrickmuf: Those who talked about Ronaldo are not even Messi fans...
I don't think Expert17, myself or Melody joined the convo...
Leyqute, eph etc are all CR7 fans.
Some people are just too emotional. I was just wondering why one would say I hated Ronaldo. I just decided to believe there's somebody else that statement was for
melodyogonna: Carrick actually knows something. I'm seeing better organization from his team from the match yesterday than I saw from Ole's for a long time. The number of times they moved the ball with quick one touch passes, even though Chelsea managed to get the ball each time eventually, but that shows he is capable of drilling his team in such a way they can move the ball without thinking. And when they mark the ball, the initiative of moving Fred further up, and getting Matic into the game with McTominay to work for him, I start to suspect Ole might be a blockhead that doesn't take advice from his staff.
I suspect Carrick will probably takeover from Ragnick or something. He's shown signs of a good coach, and I've only watched one match. Ole being here for 3 years without any clear way of playing will always be weird to me.
liveLongNprospa: Real Madrid didn't press. The same pressing you are talking about, bayern hasn't used it to beat us. Last season that we got to the semi finals, we didn't press and we lost because of Injuries. This season that we have qualified and topping our league, we are not pressing or would you say real Madrid isn't a top team? Lewandowski doesn't press like what you are asking for. The team presses and he closes down passing lanes more.
Not every team will play like the 3 teams in England. Is that too difficult for you to accept. And Ronaldo doesn't have to run like a mad man everytime. Move as a team, close spaces down. He Ronaldo can close down passing lanes as he is extremely intelligent to predict where a defenders could pass the ball to. That's what he does well.
And he has every right to get frustrated when it's not a coordinated press since that's what you want.
And please stop lying with the whole "he just stands there points at another player"
Also I know that not every game Ronaldo has to play. He's not young. But that isn't what we are addressing right now. Our argument is on pressing and what you believe Ronaldo doesn't offer.
We get it, pressing is a big deal for you because the player you Stan offers only that. It's fine
What we're addressing is yesterday's match. If you're addressing something else, you're quoting the wrong person
liveLongNprospa: Ronaldo won't join the press? Come oo, how do you think he played in Juventus a few months ago?
You and Eph12, I don't know who is worse. I can understand Eph12 due to his love for pressing as that's the only thing Fred offers.
But if you bring Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood and cavani. Outside cavani, which other striker actually presses better that Ronaldo?
You guys must think pressing is chasing the ball like idiots.
Plus can we all please calm down with the whole pressing thing. Bayern doesn't press as aggressively as Liverpool but they cut out passing lanes. There's more than one way to defend. So all this screaming for pressing like it's one extremely successful method of winning is funny. . And it's not fvcking Compulsory that 10 players must press!
That was how everyone was all about sweeper keepers because of what Pep was doing. I wonder how much of a success that brought him in Europe.
Again THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO DEFEND OOOOOOO!!!!!
There are teams that have mastered coordinated press, Manchester United is not one of them. Coordinated press means even Lewandoski is not standing somewhere and pointing at another player to block off an area while he does nothing as such. I don't know the Bayern you watch, but that is not what the German Bayern team does. Which successful team in recent years does not press? Name one successful in the champions league and UK.
What you refuse to understand is that matches like yesterday have to be played exactly that way, until we have a manager that can drill a football system into the team, no matter who they play against. Even under SAF, he had the common sense to drop some players in favor of some average ones because those ones could cover more ground, against some opponents. What exactly are you yapping about?
Ole tried to play a pattern by using technical players. The reason he quickly retired Valencia and co. But Ole appeared to know one pattern which had been studied by other teams during the Summer break. On his part, he didn't appear to have studied any of the other teams
Carrick seems to read the opposition style of play, looking at strengths and weaknesses. Then think about how to confront the game, and which players are right for the game.
I agree.
There's nothing to show about Ole's game to indicate that Ole studied his opponents and know where they can hurt us.
Rashford was offside because Sancho delayed the pass. If Rashford stayed leveled, he wold have been closed down by Chelsea defenders. Watch the video from 5' mark.
Sacho can't pass unless Mendy commits. Rashford best move was to stay onside no matter what
Illimitable: He wasn’t in an offside position from the start. He waited and waited and waited for the pass until he drifted offside.
Sancho just wanted to keep Mendy guessing until the very end. A very good decision to slot the ball in. How ironic that Sancho who’s been trolled by every Chelsea fan is the one to score at the Bridge.
That’s 2 goals on the bounce for Jadon. Hopefully, he gets another one against the mighty gooners in the midweek.
He got ahead of Sancho just as they arrived in the box. Of course Sancho was going to allow Mendy commit first before passing na. Abi they should be doing 1,2 before they reach the post? lol
Sancho joining in the goals and assists will be a massive boost for us
timay: Thankfully , Sancho is not Dan James that makes brainless decisions in promising positions. Sancho saw the idiot was offside and just went for it.
Rashford should have been the scorer of that goal if he wasn't offside because 90% of the time , Sancho usually pass the ball to the nearest man for an easy tap into an empty net. I've seen him do it a lot of times at Dortmund. The guy na pass first kind of player even if he can go for goal himself and no one will blame him for doing so.
Thank goodness Sancho went for it by himself. When I see a lot of things happening on the pitch, the choices the players make when with and without the ball, I just know that this will be the biggest challenge for any new coach they bring in
I'm still amazed at Rashford. We would have lost that goal if Sancho passed to him. I was just screaming for him to step back. How could he not know that he was ahead of the ball and in a bad position to receive that ball?
Sometimes I wonder if all we just want to do is to lament, whine and complain over every fvcking thing. At least give it a rest sometimes.
We all know where we're coming from. This is a massive result for us. We even only conceded from the penalty. It's a far cry from what we have seen in the last 2 months or so. We honestly should have nothing to complain so bitterly about today's game and result.
nitrogen: This is not a cup game, it’s the league ffs.
It's better to lose in the league, away at Chelsea, with the form we have been and the form Chelsea has? It's okay we go to Chelsea and expose the team so we're beaten 5-0 because it's not a cup game?
Looks like you jumped into a discussion you know nothing about. No wonder you're making some funny comments. What concerns Lukaku with our argument about the attackers that should have started? Because you mentioned his name
nitrogen: That was a triple decker. 4 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders, and Bruno was even withdrawing to support dem. That’s not double decker.
Ridiculous!
Champions league have been won this way. I am very sure you praised Mourinho for this years ago when he won his champions league this way. We could go on and on.
Karleb: Anyone making this statement is blinded by hate.
So AWB, Fred, Matic and Co are more physical than Ronaldo.
I don't blame you guys sha. Many of you even insulted him because rumour had it he was going to City.
Did you see the run he made for that offside ball?
Even a "physical" Lukaku had less impact compared to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo may be a better fit physically, but you're missing it. Will he be willing to use that energy to help the team when we're not with the ball? Chelsea was always going to have the ball for major parts of the game, what would Ronaldo be doing?
nitrogen: What good move? You think if it was Ronaldo that had the one chance we had in the first half, he would not have buried it?
Let’s face it, Carrick is shyte! He decided to have more bodies in the midfield so we could park a double decker. We played nothing, absolutely nothing today.
Coaches have been praised for playing the double decker in the past. I'm not making a case for Carrick, but you can do better
