I find it hard to believe some of these news I'm seeing honestly. How can a sane human being be pricing Telles for less than 20m?

I actually watched an Evra interview in which he talked about the match in question.

They came in at half time and everybody was praising Evra because he was having the game of his life and had the opposing winger in his pocket. The game was looking easy and the players were at the risk of losing focus.

That was when SAF started attacking him for minor errors and threatened to take him off for playing rubbish. That sobered everybody up and they went into the 2nd half with renewed focus.

SAF really tried. He would harrass everybody. The other coaches and referees avoided him

Use Greenwood as RWF na. Abi you want the team structurer to change for a bench player like James. Grenwood is already quite good at running those channels and this is where most of his goals come from.

Teams change their structure for talents like Zidane, Platini et al not mediocre talents like James.

Also the team won't be better if James hugs the touchline and keeps spamming crosses into the box. It is a low percentage tactic which is why it has been phased out in modern football.

Your wing forward should contribute with shots, passes, take ons NOT spamming crosses into the the box the way G boys send spam mails.

For some reason I still see Greenwood as a SS or ST. I am not convinced on his ability to beat his man or hold on to the ball aggressively and come in from the wings. He is more dangerous in the box, but will he get into the box with the ball in his feet even if its forcefully?

But I agree with you, he is the best RWF in the team at the moment

This doesn't really work in modern football. You need your wing forwards close to the 18 yr box on either side so they can be an option for both width and be an extra body in the box. The more bodies you have in the box the more likely the chances of a ball falling to one of them.

The full backs should work on their crossing, especially first time crossing. Not just floated but mainly grounders into dangerous areas in the box.

All 3 have spent significant periods in their development playing out wide so it is difficult for them to consistently work on their box movement.
For players who don't have the natural movement of Ruud, Inzaghi, Gerd Muller you need to keep playing the position and work on it daily.

Also most extra skilled or extra fast strikers don't have naturally great box movement because they never had to depend on it.

Daniel James is just not good enough for a club aiming for the top. Not everybody bought by Man Utd is United level. We have had Bellion, Djemba Djemba, and Bebe here. It happens.

For me, it's about getting the best out of this team. If Sancho or any other person is going to join, great. But if not, what should be expected of this team?

Let us even assume he starts delivering excellent pull outs what are the chances of scoring from them when we have only 1 or 2 people in the box.

The full backs need to work on their crossing while the wing forwards need to work on their box movements, finishing, short passing ( especially in tight spaces).

When a full back crosses the ball there is a higher chance of success when the box is loaded with the CF, LWF, RWF, and hopefully at least 1 of the midfielders.

But if we have the LWF, CF and Bruno or VDB in the box. Pogba or VDB just outside the box. Won't this be enough? It's not like the RW will be banned from entering the box, but that will be when it's the RB with the ball.

It's not the ideal situation, most likely just PowerPoint presentation from me but we can do something or should I say something must be done. This team is not hopeless lol

Beckham carry pull out come from heaven o. Some people can never become proficient in it no matter how many times they practice while for others it just becomes naturally.

A good pull out however also requires excellent box movement from our strikers and i am yet to see that from them.

I just feel we should leave the left wing for cutting in while RW should concentrate on pulling out. I believe with more intentional training, we can get many good results from this.

About our box movement, it's very poor honestly and some of us have been mentioning this. I don't know if the players are supposed to be born with this knowledge or the coaching crew is supposed to show them what's expected of them when attacking and when defending. Unless the likes of Rashford, Martial, and Greenwood are not as good as we think they are, we should be able to see some understanding about their positions and play

Exactly what I'm thinking. No need moaning around over something that has a very high chance of not happening this transfer window. The coaching crew should get to work.

James should play that right wing and be there for the pull outs only. The goal should be to get down to the byline and cross to the front or back post anytime he gets the ball. He should live for the assists only abeg. While we have Rashford, Martial and Bruno in the box 18 anytime James and AWB are trying to get down that byline. Pogba or VDB stationed around the box too.

Adama had 13 G+A in 27 starts for Wolves last season in the EPL.

Mane had 17 G+A as a forward in 30 starts at Southampton, the season before he moved

I'm not criticizing him, I'm thinking of ways he could help the team more and make his mark. In his last game for country, he had very few touches in that role too. I haven't beyond that, but this could be the case too. His position is CM and he should play there for now, unless absolutely impossible

VDB should stick to the CM more. He gets way fewer touches as the AM and can't coordinate play from there. He's good at arriving at the box but then we don't have that many balls dropping in the box and that's why I appreciate Bruno. He comes deep to collect the ball and make things happen

We finally scored 2 good goals from open play. I'm hoping this team is motivated enough to score goals early and kill off games. I'll be looking forward to our next match.
