After investigating the lineups and heat maps as well as reviewing archival footage. My judgement is that this is the most accurate assessment of the situation.

We play a double pivot of 4-2-3-1 which makes determining who is DM very difficult.

Matic and anybody = Matic is DM and the other person is CM

Pogba and anybody = Pogba is CM and the other person is DM

Fred and McTominay = Pure double pivot essentially with Fred covering the left and McTominay covering the right. However in more than half of the games together heat map shows Fred more active in slightly more defensive positions while McTominay more active in slightly more offensive positions.
In many of the games it is just too difficult to tell. In double pivot you usually have 2 CDMs and not the obvious division of labour you might see in a 4-3-3 with DM, CM, AM.

This is why the same whoscored that said McTominay played DM 19 times and CM 3 times also says Fred played DM 21 and CM 6 times, and Pogba played DM 8 times and 2 sub appearances with 0 appearance as CM.
Essentially saying all of them played mainly DM this season and CM very few times.

Exactly! Maybe Tom is meant to be a DM, but for United, we don't have a traditional DM unless Matic plays as he does not have the energy to take advanced positions during play and still fall back. From watching our matches, I already know that when both Fred and Tom plays, one takes the left side of the midfield and the other the right side. Both take turns to cover the center too when needed. That's why I don't see them as a Dm especially when you look at how Carrick and co play DM back then.

Nowadays sef I feel position on the field is scam. I believe people should pay attention to roles more. Your position may say DM but during the match your role is not exactly that. Just look at them saying Pogba played DM

I don't see Fred or Tom as dm. And to compare midfielders, you have to look at their overall stats, not just a part

2. When a man enter your zone/area in zonal marking, ... Thats your man......so you can loose your man, ( example, Maguire beating Rudiger to the ball and scoring against Chelsea)

In Zonal marking, you are assigned to a zone/area in the field..... The opponent will assign them selve to each zone, ... Thereby leading to you having a man to mark.

For me I will rank , Mane Salah Trent Robertson, VVD, Alisson, Fabinho Wijnaldum Henderson in that order. This season I can relegate Alisson and Fabinho because of their injuries but there is no way Henderson has done more than all those.

If you dont rate Henderson as the best in Liverpool, how come he is "voted" the best in the league and that makes any sense

I am looking at their stats and I don't see how Wijnaldum has contributed more to LFC even though he is allowed to roam more than Henderson. Henderson has better defensive and attacking stats, probably passing stats too. Remember we are talking about this season, not the last decade.

Liverpool’s attack and defense have had a greater contribution to team success than their midfield this season.

A midfield that doesn't get dominated creates a very excellent platform for the attackers to operate. The full backs can even afford to join in the attack. Anyways you've avoided talking about how lfc midfield is hardly ever dominated because it doesn't suit your agenda. Make we die the topic then

If the initial trial lasted 12 years what stops the retrial from lasting that long?

1. They will start all over again which is a waste of tax payers money

2. This retrial provides enough time for his lawyers to figure out defence for a whole lot of stuff they couldn't defend in the initial trial. The probability of getting a conviction by the EFCC counsel will be very slim

3. The long time the retrial will take is enough time for a change of government and OUK joining the winning team paving way for his case in court to quashed and he forgiven to go and sin no more.

4. Honestly the whole charade of the initial trial, his conviction and this supreme court nullifying it is a slap on the face of Abians and Nigerians in general

IMO, this is not correct. LFC midfield is almost never dominated. Aside City, I can't remember them being dominated. Henderson is a huge part of that midfield that dominates other midfield

Looking at the stats for this season, I see no reason why Fabinho should be considered ahead of Henderson. As it stands, Henderson can never do no right in our sight anymore
