He paid for Kelechi during those days, so i will say he showed he cared for him. What if they paid for each other other during those days? He didn't sponsor Kelechi. You don't need to wait for them to try to reach you before you repay all the ps2 money they paid for you and the ball you guys played together |

I read where the Bala guy said they went together to get fruits in the bush. Where he paid for him, watching matches and playing ps2 games. If the stories are right then they were really close friends back then.
What made Kelechi not to show him love? If the guy didn't do him anything bad along the line, Kelechi was not fair to him. I believe Kelechi also paid for the guy's ps2 games and some other things at some point. Or are we now saying Bala sponsored Kelechi? |

To me,buddies are very important and have a great part to play in my life.
Getting in touch with them at any available opportunity isnt a bad idea.
Stretching a helping hand to them when i have more to give will even make me more satisfied.
There are memories that are so important that it becomes bad forgetting/abandoning the person involved The only issue I see here is if Kelechi has refused to keep in touch in spite of this guy's effort |

larride: Of course, I am in support of community policing. There has to be an arrangement that works. We can still have a federal police like the FBI while states take charge of their respective internal security through the local government. Yeah exactly what I am saying. And the constitution should be clear about the separation of power. People shouldn't have to police communities far from their families. The police for every area should be people that are familiar with that area and everyone knows them there including their wives, children, church, mosque etc. |

ToyinDipo: Like it was stated here, the problem of Nigeria is not the leaders, but the Nigerians from whom a fraction of them becomes part of the leaders.
If you grant power to an average Nigerian he will misappropriate it, which is likely going to happen with community policing. My own gross in all these, is that no one should make a non-performing government seem like not. A party that can't even put itself in order, and a president who can't put his family in order. What we should be trying to do is strengthen the system. A strengthened system will prevent abuse of power |

And I have responded abi? There will always be one reason or the other why something will not work. It's never going to be easy. There are some things we will have to face head on sooner than later. State policing is one of them. |

larride: We need serious Police reforms, the fear of a discentralized Police in the hands of our State Governor gives me serious concerns but we must find a way to do community policing.
Just imagine state police under someone like Wike. His town people will checkmate him by theirselves unless they're not ready. That's their problem. We have been having this fear for years now but no fear from the federal abi? The country can't be held hostage by some set of people. We can have federal and state police. |

patrickmuf: I am all for states to remit a percentage of the revenue they generate to the center and not the centre getting everything and sharing to states wherein a state that isn't contributing or contributing little becomes a leech.
When you talk about security in the current structure, I will love to know why then the governors get security votes when the usual excuse is that they don't have any control the security apparatus. Doesn't it sound crazy to you? I think it's the constitution that's faulty here. The security votes may be to pay salaries or whatever but an order from the igp office supercedes that of a governor. We have seen this play out a couple of times |

patrickmuf: Nigeria's problem isn't about Buhari or the APC, it's Nigerians. You participate in a survey and because of money, you falsify data and still you blame the government, who is the government?
Your respective state governors collect millions in security votes yet they do nothing with it yet all the blame goes to the centre.
During the campaigns, Nigerians are more interested in what politicians has to offer in cash and other material benefits rather than what he has to offer and how he intends to achieve his plans. Pray tell, do you expect someone to buy a nomination form for over 20m, spend billions consulting the who is who and buying rice, Maggi, tomatoes as well as cash gifts for the masses not to recoup his cash? Even I will seek to recoup my money. It's not rocket science that these things have a corresponding ripple effect on out collective development. Nigerians need to change the criteria we use to evaluate our leaders and that way, rather than cash gifts, we will begin to ask probing questions bordering on what their manifestos is all about, how they intend to achieve them and when...Not what is obtainable now where someone comes up and offers wads of cash to people and when given the mic, begins to make lofty promises that aren't SMART.
Another area of concern is how to unbundled our present political party platforms. Personally, I will prefer independent candidature because before you get the ticket of PDP or APC, you will have to give in to the demands of evils men.
Regarding the present administration, I will say I am really disappointed in PMB, I genuinely had high hopes when he was elected in 2015 but as at 2019, it was as clear as daylight that he didn't have it in him to deliver the change he promised and that's why I opted for Sowore.
In spite of my general assessment of the present administration, I still score them well above average in some indicators and that's why I love to read from Larride. He is informed about what is happening and even though I really don't agree with all his points, I appreciate the time he takes out to provide useful information here and I encourage others to go about disagreement with him in a rational manner.
In all, we are still a long way off dreamland as religion and ethnicity remains veritable tools in the hands of our oppressors. Why won't it be so? There's a security issue, they have to run to Abuja. The IGP can even refuse to obey the governors if he wants. The governors have to go to Abuja to collect money every time. Let the states generate their revenue and be in charge of it. They can be sending some percentage to the federal instead of the other way round. You will see how states will sit up and nobody bothers abuja again on major issues. But we're not ready for this talk yet |
