Melvyn11: It's way easier Being in a club where you are practically a living legend. Ferguson could literally go 3 seasons trophyless rebuilding the team and United won't dare sack him. He should try it at Barca or Madrid and see the outcome. So your Pep can't stay one place and become a legend there so that he can go 3 seasons trophyless? Small thing that Mourinho did, he ran out of Spain |

Melvyn11: Romantism for united fans. Ferguson had no competition in the 90s, united where the rich bullies in the league, Ferguson never had to built a new team, continuing a dynasty where everything is built to your vision is easier compared to jumping in to a new club and winning every 3 years. It's not easier. Coaches know how difficult it is to maintain the Hunger. In a new club, everyone is excited and wants to impress |

When arsenal made a final, chelsea not man utd won the league
When chelsea made the final in 2012, city not man utd won the league

raumdeuter: It's basic common sense. One season doesn't make a league the best, it requires several seasons at the top like spain did from 2014 till 2018
2 of city's rivals who city won the league against are in the CL finals this season and this season will be 1st and 2nd in Europe
That's the opposition guardiola faced and beat
Who were the teams Ferguson faced and what was their standing in Europe?
Guardiola faced and beat a league that's stronger than anything Ferguson ever faced. Facts A league where 97 points which is better than anything Ferguson ever achieved was not good enough to win the league
FFS, Ferguson in 1999 won the league with 79 points that's about 20 points less Arsenal got to the final, Liverpool did too twice and got to semis, Chelsea got to the final and made a couple of semis too. What are you talking about? You think it's easy for a coach to see a team peak and then start all over with new set of players? |

larride: Bros you cannot blame Pep for the incompetence of your club board directors. It’s not like they were not spending, they were spending on average joes. Pep also had his own target that he didn’t get.
The excuse of buying players/spending money would have made sense if he was the only one doing it. Everyone is spending, some are just buying bang average players. I think the point is that Pep is lucky to have competent people to work with. Imagine Pep with Ed, he would have been frustrated by now |

patrickmuf: I'm very sure Pochettino would say he wanted to bypass the midfield of Ajax by introducing Llorente, he will also claim he needed by better player on the ball in midfield who could cope with the constant pressing from Ajax and that's why he took off Wanyama and deployed Erikson there... If you noticed in that game, Son stated out on the right but in the second half, he switched to the left where he became a constant threat thus Ziyech had to be more defensively conscious and Moura was operating off shoulders of Llorente that for me is tactics on display unless we're just going to throw everything we saw with our eyes wide open under the bus and tow the way of Erikson because he played the match. I don't see any other sub that would have entered and hope for a difference. It wasn't like he had to choose between two decisions. Everyone could see that Wanyama was going to leave the game sooner rather than later. Anyways Poch has always been a very good coach for me. I hope he wins something soon. |

Corrosiveman: Pochetino played his own Part against Ajax but that game was nothing But a Physical Battle one thing you have to notice about clubs who play possession football is that if you let them play their passing Game they would hurt you against Ajax llorente tortured Blind in the second half same way liverpool players kicked and Bullied Barca players if you are not physical and cant Press your opponent then you are finished Who kicked and bullied Barça players? Who injured Keita in the first leg? |

patrickmuf: Taking off Wanyama and bringing on Llorente was a change of formation, playing long balls as against trying to play through a congested midfield was a tactical switch, it helped them bypass that solid Ajax midfield. 1. Wanyama was not fit for that game. He was playing nonsense and it was only a matter of time before he's yanked off 2. There was nothing tactical there as that was a desperate move. There was nothing more to lose, his team was 3 goals down with 45 minutes to go. What could go worse? 3. Eriksen didn't see it as the game changer or even close. He was on the field for 90 minutes that day |

simonjassy: lol, eriksen was caught in the euphoria of their victory, indeed they abandoned "tactics",cause they didn't expect the "new" tactic to work,as it is something they probably have never done or trained on b4,most players would not even call it a tactic,as it was thought up hastily, hoping it would work.well, personally i give kudos to llorente who had the common sense to keep playing the ball through. when chelsea drew 2-2 with barcelona in 2012,all key players said they played with their all, forgetting that they switched from defensive to "ultra defensive" playing with 4 dfs and 4 dmfs with the striker as the first line of defence. So Eriksen was so excited that he totally forgot the moment when Poch told the team he's switching tactics and was praising Moura instead? What else did he forget? Lol |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 9:43pm On May 13, 2019 |
simonjassy: we can't really say tottenham has had a peculiar style of play this season due to their injuries, with some players playing in unfamiliar roles.against ajax, poch initial setup.was 4 defenders,1 holding midfielder,1 cmf(sissoko),eriksen as amf and 3 ss(son, moura, dele).when he saw the tactics wasn't working,he introduced a cf(a post player ,llorente) and took off the dm wanyama, forcing eriksen to drop back as cmf and they initiated long balls against the initial short passes. llorente's job was to effectively hold up play and play through passes to his (ss),the rest was left for the ss to create chances/score from the through balls. it did pay off,but ajax could have tighted it if they had played very compact with a very high defensive line or they had double marked "llorente" as he became the new creative outlet unlike eriksen. beautiful tactical switch i must say. Who do we believe now? You or Eriksen that said they abandoned tactics and fought on the pitch? |

ChristoBam: Don't be silly. You never asked me what his tactics was. And if you did, I didn't see it. This is not whatsapp. You can't expect me to see every message you direct at me. As for those of you asking what Pochetino's tactics are, I'm sure you expect me to say either tikitaka or Defensive football. Like these are the only tactics available in football. That is why you keep asking me what tactics he plays. If not, then you don't watch Spurs at all. Number one, Pochetinho has an attacking philosophy. Whenever they are in possesion, only 3 players are excused from not joining the attack and that is the 2 centre backs and the defensive midfielder. And another thing is that the attacking players are not constrained to a particular position. They intertwine continuously whenever in attack thereby creating options everytime. Whenever they are not with the ball they press for the ball continuously until things are in their favor. Something similar to what Ole says his tactics are. If you asked me to simplify his tactics, I'd say he plays possession football. You have not seen United play like this under Ole in the first 10-20 minutes, then they become tired and can't keep up? You have not watched these team hassle for ball deep in the opponent half under Ole? Since Ole joined, Shaw has had about 3-4 assists, but the full backs doesn't join the attack right? Now you say its something similar to Ole tactics and you think Poch will come and make a majority of these players better? Someone that at a time he was among the title contenders only for him to finish over 20 points behind the league leaders with a team that has far more better defenders, midfielders and attackers. Someone that his team had to abandon his tactics to get into the final of the Champions League? You are very silly |

elampiro: I guess Mourinho already played four of the top five teams in those 17 matches. May be he could have turned it around with the next fixtures which required less pressure. However, once English media and fans are on a coach, his own is finished. He loses focus. No one has survived it. OGS played against Tottenham, city, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. I don't understand this your comment here |
