Batshuayi before he went to Dortmund on loan, Hazard as false 9, Giroud 2nd half of the season.
Bat hardly started any match before he went on loan. He wasn't a competitor at all.

Morata was not scoring and he couldn't offer anything else on the pitch, reason Hazard was forced to play the false nine. At least we saw Lukaku at left strike back. Giroud wasn't even bought for his goal scoring abilities ffs. If he was, then lol

Lukaku didn't earn Mourinho's trust. Rather Mourinho didn't trust his other attackers.

Brighton won Man Utd 1-0 last season in a game Lukaku missed through injury. Below are Mourinho's exact words in his post match interview...

To Mourinho, Lukaku is the best striker at his disposal not necessarily the best striker he wanted at the moment.

That is why he keeps playing Lukaku week in week out. There was virtually no competition for Lukaku. No matter how much poo he is, he will still start. But its not so for Morata hence the lesser minutes.

This season he even made the excuse that he can't bench Lukaku and play Rashford as number 9 because he doesn't have another wide player. But he actually have Martial, Mata and Sanchez who can flank Rashford.

Yesterday no be person tell am to bench the unproductive Lukaku.
Who's the competition for Morata?

seunmsg:
Oga, emotional optimism won't cut it at all. Since Atiku's campaign is centered on restructuring, we must ask him to give us a clear details of how he intends to go about it. He should show us his path to restructuring.

We all know Atiku and PDP's past response to resource control and fiscal federalism. We are also well aware of his Fulani ancestry and the role that tribalism and religion usually play in policy formulation and implementation in Nigeria. Therefore, this is not the time to just be optimistic. This is the time to pragmatically demand for details and not after the election.
The OP didn't ask for clarification from the campaign team, he outrightly condemned it.

I would understand if he's pro Buhari / APC and so will by default do or say anything to score political points for his party, no crime there. But passing as neutral and condemning issues like this just because of past or present experience is a no no. We won't be where we are today if that's how the whites behave

I am being realistic instead of you who is being optimistic. Hadn't been the past and present governors are/were good manager, by now we supposed to have little Dubai.

I am not against restructuring. Infact my state ( Ogun) can stand on his own with her little resources without Fg effort( only if we have a good manager). South west in general can not feel nothing should Nigeria restructure instead expect buoyancy in our economy. Afterall presently SW are not doing bad.

What happens to state with little or no resources? How do you expect them to survive?

Majority of southern states do support restructuring. North are only those who are against it.

SS+SE+SW = 17 states
North + Middle belt = 19 states..

North has 55% in both rep and senate. Also remember, we have betrayal down south here ( brown envelopes).

Restructuring is DOA
No you're not being realistic, you're being pessimistic. You have accepted that Nigeria can't move beyond this and will continue to fail.

We can't continue to do the same thing and expect different results. You have a problem against restructuring or wanting this country to try something else if not you wouldn't have opened this thread. What's your goal when you created this thread? To show that it's impossible to restructure? Just imagine everyone in this world had this mindset, we wouldn't have all these inventions we have today. I'm sure there were some people like you that would be claiming realist back then

Why would I sell a product that is not profitable to me? I do not care about who becomes Nigeria president but I need to enlighten folks like you why restructuring will never work. If Atiku like let him sign document with Trump and Putin, restructuring is DOA.

Be honest with your self. Atiku is from Adamawa state right? What natural resources does Adamawa state have to manage ? Should Atiku becomes the president, would his state governor, senate, reps and state assembly support restructuring?
Why do we have to believe that a country or an area can't develop without the presence of natural resources? Why you doing this to yourself and your unborn generation?

That is where the problem lies. Good manager. States like Delta states, Lagos state, River state, Bayelsa state supposed to be a little Dubai with all what they have got. Instead their people keep on blaming Fg for their woes. Not until we hold our representatives accountable, nothing will change with the current system.

How I wish people could realised that majority of our leaders do not care about us. Election suppose to be our joker to them but you know my people,,cup of rice and some cash will do the magic for another 4 years of suffering
When states control their resources, nobody would blame the fg for the poor state of their State or community anymore. Then their anger will be turned on the governor's. That to me is progress, if not we'll continue running around in circles

Some states don't have any resources to manage. If not 65% of states in Nigeria. They are the one opposing to restructuring. Even states with buoyant resources are still owing salary not to talk of states that have almost nothing
They have agriculture and probably some mineral resources that can be harnessed to generate billions if those in charge are well motivated to manage properly.

Above all, human capacity is greater than and natural resources on this planet. They can leverage on that. I don't see the excuses at all, there are many countries without resources but are doing very fine. States must be forced to look inwards.

It can never work.I can bet it with you more than 23 states will not support the idea of restructuringand executive order doesn't work in what majority don't support. It will back fire.

What natural resources does Katsina state have?

And by the way do you understand what restructuring means?
Resource control of course. Instead of states running to Abuja for money to pay salaries and development, they should sit down and plan on how they can generate such money. At the end of the month a certain percentage is paid to federal. Federal can also control ports and generate more revenue through tax.

Politics › Re: Nigeria's Main Problem Is NOT Corruption. It Is Lack Of Money. by eph12(m): 3:01pm On Oct 27, 2018
trillville:
I get your point. Why should we pay more when we currently get nothing. I mentioned in my post that the government does not even want to tax people because most of the people who should pay taxes are direct beneficiaries of the federal government. In my post, I argued for low business taxes but high estate and income taxes. Raising income taxes has a psychological effect on a population. People will start to demand for services. People will be more willing to protest corruption. When government says it wants to lay off unproductive workers, people will cheer the government.

It takes more than good roads to grow an economy. One of the biggest expenditures developed countries make is in the provision of quality primary and secondary school education to all citizens. Education in Nigeria is atrocious at best.

Nigeria has very high interest rates compared with other countries and this stifles local productivity. During periods of high oil prices, the naira is relatively stable. Our high local interest rates entice foreigners to bring in dollars to buy government treasury bills/bonds to make a quick return on capital. On the other hand, the government gets more dollars to fund it's budgets.

When oil prices are falling, foreigners will only borrow the federal government in US dollars to protect themselves from the erratic naira. If the naira falls further, Nigeria has to use more naira to pay up it's debts. Even the IMF advised the government to raise taxes rather than seek loans. Bill Gates said the same thing. I don't have all the answers. I just know things are not working and deliberate actions must be taken to move this country forward.
Yeah I agree with this. I totally support more taxes but government will have to meet us half way
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Main Problem Is NOT Corruption. It Is Lack Of Money. by eph12(m): 10:52am On Oct 27, 2018
BlackBaron:
Corruption STILL remains a potent factor regardless of our earnings. Stolen sums which could have been applied towards 'base infrastructure' are stolen which further prolongs our ability to develop and earn the comparable incomes from other countries you posted.

Apparently, Lagos to Ibadan train line cost $1.8 B, however $2B plus was disbursed to individuals under guise of elections.

Diversifying our earnings would require certain aspects of infrastructures to be fixed. Away from taxes or vat which are critically low, we CAN NOT DEVELOP without infrastructures to support industrialisation. It's similar to owning a business on a small scale, if all funds were siphoned off instead of expanding your operation.

Corruption exists everywhere however developed systems make you PAY when known which their citizens know the consequences, big or small. Ours rewards stealing hence struggling to prosecute the most obvious thieves.
Corruption is a big cancer that needs to be cut out, agreed. Are we allowed to talk about the money that has been spent and not only the ones that got away? Just maybe you will realize that incompetence is right up there with corruption

Funny comment. You know the factors of production are land, labor, capital, and entrepreneur. Land involves infrastructures like roads, power, communication etc. Labor involves well trained citizens from the primary school level to at least secondary school. Capital involves having low interest rates to enable people to borrow to fund a business. And finally, entrepreneurship which is the desire to better oneself.

How much money is the government going to borrow to provide all these things for it's people?

Nigeria has one of the lowest tax to GDP ratios on the world. There is money in Nigeria, the problem is the government refuses to collect taxes. Why should another country tax it's own citizens to provide funding for another man's country. Does this make any sense? The only way people will provide funds for you is if it will benefit them more don't you think?
Government can borrow enough to repair old roads and build new ones. Heck they can even form a partnership with some companies to construct roads and taxes are collected by the companies for a number of years. I read that it's done everywhere but the insincerity and small mindedness exhibited by our leaders won't allow us see or consider this opportunity. Private companies can construct and maintain roads and they can make their money back through toll gates, especially the major roads, while government can focus on the smaller roads.

We live in a country where contracts are awarded to companies that are either nonexistent, no previous track record of success, or belong to government officials. A part of these contracts still find a way back to the official awarding the contract as cut back, incentive, appreciation or whatever. When we look at the amount of money budgeted and the work done, we see that we should be getting much more than that for that amount. In this same country where we don't have money, websites have been created for 100+ millions, boreholes sank for 100s of millions, and recently the amount it cost the Federal Republic of Nigeria to create a logo. We don't have money but we spend much more than what other countries spend on same thing.

Yes we have one of the lowest tax to GDP ratios on the world and it's justified. Are you comparing our tax with countries that actually provide everything for you? You mean we should be taxed more than what we're taxed so government can spend millions in designing logos? The citizens of those countries are paying for what they use, what exactly are we paying for?

I don't get your last paragraph. Is the loan supposed to be interest free before?
