noblefada:So is there a way that this people could be made to understand that it is not their right but the right of every Nigerian, is there a way that the hopeless kids could be made hopeful. I always believe that if the average northener where made to know that most of Nigerian wealth comes from the south and that southerners need to be treated well in the north, they would listen. After all even the most harden ruler like Abacha approved 13% revenue to oil producing states, the northern politicians voted for the creation of NDDC because all of them are now aware of this fact. |
pluto04: I do agree 100% with you but my thoughts are for this to achieve its purpose there should be a limit to the amount of accounts an individual or a company should have, with our niacomsat, cheap mobile POS supported by gsm and satellite should be produced and given to merchants, there should be no room for penalties if you reach your withdrawal limits instead just have a limit. Am in support against money laundering and financial crimes. If it only have to do with fines , our politicians will still exchange money in ghana most go and pay all the fines, only the masses that will suffer the pains of fines and inflation |
noblefada:Well said, I do agree with all you have just said. My questions are 1. Was Buhari part of the government that register this voters 2. With proper Intelligence from SSS and other security agencies, dont you think there are rooms for improvement towards protecting citizenz and non indegienes in an area. What I am saying here is that every serious country most have a strong strategy to tackle situations so that it doesnt arise again, but in Nigeria everything is taken for granted. There are loads of solutions to all this problems but as you said everyone in Nigeria thinks like the ones on nairaland. I leaved in Kano at nomans land in the 80's and I had never entered Kano city for fear of being killed for any small reason. A country that has 3 tiers of government and a military should not experience such but the issue is that no one addresses this not until when there is roits and killings, we start talking about it for like a month and after that back to normal. This issues can be resolved with a proper government. Do ask yourself, could all this riot or militancy happen during the abacha's time and the answer is no. It takes a focused government, all am seeing Goodluck do now at least for the next 3 months is receiving dignitaries congratulating him for winning and the looting continues, I might be wrong |
tosinaded@: I dont believe in impossibility, try what and get killed. Please explain. How come we don't have an under age governor or politician in the north. |
pluto04: 1. Reduced cost of infrastructure to support cash based society - less cash holding at branches, less cashiers to count cash, less cost of cash transport (security, bullion van, etc), less security requirements to secure large volume of cash in bank branches, etc. 2. New business opportunity in merchant accounts and commission on each transaction 3. More liquidity for banks with increase in cash passing through the banks = increased lending = increased money available to banks for trading 4. Increased accuracy of banks to evaluate credit rating of customers since a large percentage of money transactions will pass through the banks = incentives for credit financing, credit cards, etc 5. etc Advantages to the payment processor/digital cash company 1. Increased patronage payment processor, digital wallet companies, mobile (phone) money companies = increased profitability = business growth 2. Incentive to invest in infrastructure to support cash free society Advantages for the retailers 1. Reduced cost of infrastructure to support cash intensive operation - less cash holding at shops, less cashiers to count cash, more processing time per customer, less time spent to deposit sales proceed at banks, less cost of cash transport (security, bullion van, etc), less security requirements to secure large volume of cash in bank shops, ability to perform sales transactions involving larger volume of cash, etc. 2. New business opportunity in merchant accounts and commission on each transaction 3. Increase ability to demonstrate business potential to banks for credit financing purpose 4. etc Advantages to the CBN 1. Reduction in the demand for cash hence reduction the the cost of printing large volume of cash 2. Increased ability to fight money laundry Advantages to the Law Enforcement 1. Increased ability to fight money laundry and trace bribe and other crime money 2. Reduction in robbery and muggings associated cash based society - robbers will not go to peoples home because the is not a large amount of cash, kidnapping will reduce because the cash will have to be transferred to their accounts thereby defeating anonimity. Advantages to End Users of Cash 1, Reduction in risks associated with holding large amount of cash - mugging, robbery, etc 2. Not much else. Old boy we were taught in school advantages and disadvantages. Abeg disadvantanges nko? |
bfire:I would like to agree with you on this, I think if CBN were serious about this. They should have just put a limit , end of story and not fines. Politicians and criminals would pay any fines so far they get their way |
bfire: |

tosinaded@: This still shows where we go wrong, army in any where in the world are called in to do what they know best, where they have disaster, war and so on. Army are not trained to pick out or tell people ages, they are trained to obey, so if they are told to register anybody, they will still do the same thing. Go and do your research more to see the best way to handle all this or call in companies that can eliminate this and not the army. This is where Nigeria still gets it wrong. The new world era now is technology based. The last time I saw Nigerian army in action is during Godwills Akpabio's (PDP) campaign where okada men were doing frog jump and during Goodluck's campaign in delta state where a comedian was being beaten up by the army. So army is not the solution |
wales:After all just said , you are still blaming Hausa, it seems am dreaming. Delta Governor is helping by Buying 1020 Ak47 which will end up on robbers hands on Lagos Onitsha road Akwa Ibom state governor is helping by all the all the killings and kidnapping and looting. I would rather have under age voters than having state sponsored Crimes backed with state money and governor immunities. Make we dey all this sentiments down and run the nation as a state with law and order |
Demdem:PDP is still Nigeria greatest enemy, the thoughts of Anenih , Bode George,OBJ, nothing can work.Look back at all the PDP state during this election , it is just problems upon problems but people are refusing to see. They now want to hang Buhari forgetting that Ribadu and ACN had a strong ground in the north until Rabidu defected. I will say this now, watch out for Bankole, Iyabo for a come back, all preplan on PDP agenda. All of a sudden PDP is losing everything in Ogun state and yet they did not lose in other strongholds. Very free and fair |
Jonathan goes on 7-day retreat at Obudu Written by Leon Usigbe Friday, 29 April 2011 PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan will today embark on a seven-day working retreat to the Obudu Resort in Cross River State. A statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Ima Niboro, in Abuja, on Thursday, said that he would be accompanied by some senior government officials and his aides but was silent on the exact nature of the president’s engagement. Meanwhile, the Labour Party (LP) has presented to the president a blueprint of the issues it considers important for the president to focus on when starting his new administration next month. The party’s leadership, led by its national chairman, Dan Nwanyanwu, was at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, where Nwanyanwu also explained the rationale behind LP’s decision to endorse Jonathan for the presidential election. According to him, “the Labour Party is a very serious political party. We are from a very strong background. We consider Nigeria and Nigerians; we look at things that will benefit the greatest number of people and we are always talking about common goals. So, we have submitted those documents to him and he assured us that he would look into them and we are going to send another one next week.” The party leader, who described the endorsement of LP as very significant, said the party did not just endorse Jonathan, but “we met with him, we put our manifesto on the table, critical issues the Labour Party felt must be addressed and he had no problems with those issues.” He added: “Those issues have to do with tackling unemployment both for the educated and the uneducated of this country, building infrastructure, education, power, Niger Delta, the Nigerian worker and industrialisation of the country. “So, these were the issues. Before the elections, we took up with the president in the course of our interaction with him. These are the critical issues he must tackle as he resumes office next month.” Please poster be aware that Goodluck will be working from Obudu for some time , so he is very busy and won't have time for us yet. Funky presido!!!! Show never start yet |
lepasharon: Well said,From the the top level to the bottom. In 21st century, there are still report of ballot snatching.Only yesterday Dora has confirmed what I always say about the just Finished election. Erstwhile Information and Communications Minister, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has dismissed Tuesday’s rerun election in Anambra Central senatorial district as a charade. She said: “The Independent National Electoral Commission set out to conduct credible elections, but desperate politicians, such as Dr. Chris Ngige of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, were determined not to see that happen. Ngige has once more done what he knows best, which is stealing the vote.” Narrating her ordeal in a press statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Isaac Umunna, Akunyili said: “In all my life, I have never witnessed the kind of thing I saw on Tuesday. The level of intimidation of our party agents and disenfranchisement of my supporters was unprecedented. In some places, this shameful conduct was perpetrated by the thugs of the ACN as security agents who were supposed to checkmate them looked the other way. In a place like Nkpor, my agents were chased away and people who came out to vote for me were turned back.” “As the party in power in Anambra State, APGA could have easily mobilised to physically challenge this brazen disregard for the provisions of the Electoral Act by renowned election riggers who see politics as a do-or-die affair but we chose to do otherwise so as to prevent bloodshed. This is in keeping with my commitment to clean politics, having earlier taken an irrevocable decision never to engage even a single thug as I do not see my political ambition as good enough reason to cause trouble or shed the blood of anyone.” Akunyili said that in view of the circumstances under which Ngige was declared winner with 69,725 votes as against the 69,236 votes credited to her, she had no reason to congratulate him. “I would have been the first person to congratulate Ngige if the rerun election was free and fair because I am sensible enough to know that, as is the case with every contest, there could be only one winner of the election. I, however, have no reason to congratulate him because this was a clear case of daylight robbery,” said Akunyili, who led with about 1,000 votes before the rerun ballot held in areas where the April 16 voting was declared inconclusive by INEC. The one-time NAFDAC Director General noted the mournful mood in Anambra State after the announcement of Ngige as winner of the rerun election, saying it was strong evidence that the will of the people had not been respected. According to her, “There would have been spontaneous celebrations across Anambra Central in particular if Ngige actually won the election, but the reverse was the case. I will, however, not be surprised if, in keeping with his tradition, he hires a crowd of celebrants one of these days so as to give the false impression that the people are happy with his stolen mandate.” Urging her supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, Akunyili assured them that what has happened is a temporary setback. |
My question to all of you criticizing.Should Inec not allow this people to vote or register. Just some few things to note 1. If Nigeria as country was serious about keeping birth registry , this could have been avoided. 2. we should look at the fundamental problems in Nigeria other than the outside(even women reduce their age in other to get married in Nigeria) 3. Our football teams uses wrong age to bring back trophies and we celebrate. 4. Why must it be different or disgusting when it comes to voting. 5.In the western world if someone in a shop or a club dispute your age , they ask for your ID, what happen to National ID or what criteria does Inec follow for registration. 6.Our politicians declares false age , documents, assets. The last big time false documentation I saw in Nigeria was our signed budget by Yaradua when he was probably dead and up till today no one have been held responsible for such act. This simples shows a failed state. with all the money pumped into local authorities, birth and dead registration should be intact. Do we expect INEC to be the one to verify age before they register people given the sudden rush to register at a limited time some few months ago. Come next election , it is still going to be the same old story.Until Nigeria as a country and people are ready to move the country forward, things will always be the same , so it does not surprise me. Countries like India,China ,and even Zimbabwe have a strong national ID program but Nigeria is all talk and spending money. |
I would like to contribute to this thread , it pains me to see that people comes here leaving their numbers and email for people to contact them for one product or the other in forex. I always believe and still believe that if anyone is making money in trading, they wouldn't have the time to be selling product for 100 - 300 dollar and you would see the difference in their lifestyle. We like things the easy way like the ones looking for forex signals. EAs are time bombs waiting to happen.Market changes at all times and as such we need to change with th market. One of the guys here have been making noise about news trading, from my experience, professinal traders take off their trades before big news and wait till after it has been digested, yes you will miss some good spike but it is worth staying clear. I have warned 2 guys about this but they ended up learning the hard way. Finally my only advice for a newbie or anyone that want to stay long trading are as below 1. Trade a higher time frame 2.Use the right stop loss and Take profit 3. Go with the overall trend 4. Price action , Price Action, Price action 5.The market is made up of just support and resistance and divergence 6.Fundamental follows If you master all this, then you do not need any useless EAs. I try not to discuss trading because it is not for every body, the level of greed, patience, anxieties are all different in everybody so it makes hard to determine a good trader. I always say this that trading exposes human ability when they are left alone to do things. Final word. Trading is very Good but it is not for all. Remain Profitable |
Where is Beaf, has he not finishing voting yet |
maipeople: how did they know he voted Buhari when you vote secretly except it was during the vote count and it doesn't surprise me . |
emcaluv: This is the ignorance we are talking about in Nigeria. If we had a government that enforce national ID and Birth registration , this would not have happen. Doe Buhari work for INEC that you are bringing his name in here. If they are under age, may be they were born in the years of PDP rule |
reindeer: SS result dey come only in the night after all the rigging . Backward people, am from there by the way |
