Fellow solar enthusiasts, i recently bought a 200w Canadian solar panel from a vendor here coupled with a 30amps CC. The highest amps i have seen is 5.2amps and 4.5amps on a average Sunny day. I don't believe this is normal because the panel maximum amps is rated at 11.6amps.

Now my installer did not remove the mc4 connectors instead he only connected the wires at the edge of the mc4 connectors. I think this is the reason for the poor performance of the panels or is 4.5amps the best i should expect from my 200w panel?

Most Canadian panels in Nigeria are fake low profile panels . You are probably getting yield best yield from the panel

I have a hybrid Gennex 5kva in use now for more than a year. Being used commercially and as I suspect, being abused at my back regularly ( being overloaded with pumping machine/2 ACs until it trips etc). I have timers on the equipment to synchronize use, but it kept being overidden for one reason or another.
So, I am already looking for a not too expensive replacement in case. Moreover, i need a backup as least but Deye is out of my pocket range now.

What will be your choice as per capacity, capability and costs between:
1) Gennex
2) Epever
3) Sorotec
4) Growat

By the way, my solar panels (12 pieces , 300w, Canadian solar) are configured for a high voltage cc (450v max input) and I will prefer not to change that if possible.

I saw @ Earthrealm suggestion and I want to know people's view if cost of acquisition is also factored in.

Shut your stupid mouth. The lithium batteries I currently use, i imported myself from china. I am trying to be cultured wit u but u want me to go all out. Stupid Nigerians who think they have to make 50% profit on imported goods. Where did you import a cbm of battery goods for 500k? I import for a living. If you want proper contacts, you ask instead of spewing stupidity. How much is an entire container of batteries that a cbm is 500k?

Wether 24v or 48v, your batteries are ridiculously priced and u are no better than the alaba dealers that you curse here everyday. At 24v, that is still over 600k for a 24v 200ah bank without balancing and a proper bms. Because u have joined a group to import a few pieces of batteries now, you have suddenly become an expert on battery goods. You want to place all your life problems on this few pieces of batteries you want to sell.

Simple ask for contacts so i show u how it is done.

slowpoke!!

Found this thread via Google. I need a solar system in my house.

I wonder how much it will cost me to get a solar system that will power 1. One 2 hp AC, a deep freezer, one fridge, three TVs, one ox fan, one laptop for at least 16 hours per day.

I have a budget of 750k will this suffice? And with solar do I still need to charge it with nepa or generator? I need a quick answer.

Spend time and go though the thread.

a few weeks back my colleague complained that he was spending an average of 50k/month on public power
to the extent that he was forced to start putting off a lot of his household appliances all in a bid to save money.
with this new increase i wonder what he will do next.
looking back in hindsight, an investment in solar has been one of the best decision of a lifetime for me.
truely, the sun is the answer!

Electricity is not cheap all over the world , we really have to learn how to cut down on usage . Sometimes I get into people houses and they have 2 to 3 standing AC each being 3 horse power . That is total wastage . The Government not also helping

I have suggested to client to go for three units of GoodWe 10kw (Comes with 4 MPPTs per Inverter). They prefer one unit of 30kva 384v as they'll be utilizing 8 units of 10kw 48v Lithium Battery.

Leave them alone if they don't want to listen and 10kw bank will be small for 30 kva

Any solar experts here please I'll like to know how much it will cost me to get inverter and solar that can power 2 unit of 2 bedroom flat these are the mejor things

house hold items like:
4 big oxford fan
4 32inch flat screen tv
16 bulbs
2 big deep freezer (double door)
2 microwave oven
2 blender
2 electric stove
2 electric boiling jug
And some few minor house stuffs at least 24/7 power supply I'm located at Enugu

Please when people are moving to renewable energy , just have in mind saving the planet if you don't even want to save money , your consumption attitude has to change . This is the reason sometimes I pity PHCN because we don't pay attention to consumption . You will see someone pack floor standing air condition into small places where 1 horse power would have been used .

Please revisit this list and do amendments lol

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by EPOMA(m): 5:08pm On Jun 04, 2021
You can make this simple , with a 15KWH if you use 1Kiliwatts per hour , that means you will get 15 hours of electricity out of it .

For inverter aircon, they consume on average 500 watts per hour, If you run the 3 aircon , that will be 3 times 500 watts = 1500 watts per hour, soon a 15 kwh battery , you will get 10 hours of electricity.

If your fridge and freezer are inverter as well then you will use very minimal wattage about 130 watts for the 2.

I would advice to get a solar water heater

sethtsadopp:

Well the roofing is not in my hands as it's a mini estate where we just buy. Attached is plan and 3D. The second one is mine. They are still at DPC and project should be ready to deliver by March/April next year so I'm trying to plan ahead. Is it possible to deduce how much Panels each tenant's roof can take from the attached plan/3D? Im interested in knowing. It's a flat hidden roof so i think that's good right?

For Load my rough Guess will be
2-3 Interver AC(1.5hp)
2-3 TV
3 standing FANs
1 Water Heater
All lightings
1 Fridge
1 Freezer.

My plan is to use appliances that are as low energy consuming as possible and this will be factored in as we do any purchase.

So with all these, do you think a 15KWh - 20KWh LiFePO4 would go a long way? And how much should I budget for? I'd personally like to buy most of the things myself to save cost. I am already in talks with Felicity and BSLBATT. The former is cheaper but I'm concerned about quality as I'm getting divergent views.

Hisense Group is a Chinese multinational white goods and electronics manufacturer headquartered in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.[2] It started out making radios in 1969.[3]

The Hisense state-owned[4][5][6] holding company has subsidiaries that include two listed companies, Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd.[7] and Hisense H.A.,[8] listed in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.[9][10][11]

Hisense retails products under several brand names. These include Hisense, Toshiba, Gorenje, Kelon and Ronshen.[12] Hisense is also an OEM, so some of the products it makes are sold to other manufacturers and carry a brand name not related to Hisense.[Bell 1] The main products of Hisense are televisions; their first TV model CJD18 was produced in 1978.[13] It has invented a type of transparent television in 2013.[14] In 2015 it acquired the right to sell televisions in the Americas using the brand name of the Japanese firm Sharp.[15]

LG Electronics is part of the fourth-largest chaebol in South Korea (LG Corporation) and its global sales reached US$55.91 billion (₩ 59.04 trillion) in 2014. It comprises four business units: Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Home Appliances & Air Solutions and Vehicle Components,[3] with Starion India[4] as its main production vendor for refrigeration and washing machines in the Indian sub-continent. LG Electronics acquired Zenith in 1995 and controls 37.9 percent of LG Display as of 2013.[5] Since 2008, LG Electronics remains the world's second-largest LCD television manufacturer.[6][7] The company has 128 operations worldwide, employing 83,000 people
On 5 April 2021, LG announced its withdrawal from the phone manufacturing industry after continuous loss in the market. In 2020, LG faced a loss of 5 trillion won (US$4.4 billion)

I bought 43inch LG from him and he claim nothing wrong with the TV after 2days just 2days the TV start having issues and I contacted him , the only solution he could provide is I should change the TV setting from eco mode .

Issue is most want to buy cheap products and expect it to work like brand new, Even LG brand new I bought from LG had remote sensor issue after one month though LG repaired under warranty..

If you want to buy product and have 2 years warranty just go to Fouani store or similar, stop looking for cheap deals and say someone scammed you, even seller may not know.

It's 50/50, when you buy used especially from Alaba.. it's not something New.

Interesting thing is that when product work, most don't do review...

But, let there be an issue they will open thread, if everyone that had good feedback always post, then we can calculate satisfaction ratio..

I bought 4K 43" TV android Philip from him, works fine almost a year now..

The who topic started as about people being honest. you can not sell people TVs with lines and then give excuses of because it was on transit. There are things people should never do. I do not accept dishonesty as an excuse . Yes if I buy a tv or equipment and it packs up , I will walk away because it is second hand . A lot of those guys buy the TVs as untested and then repair them and sell. So the traders should come to terms with their loss if they have TVs they can't repair instead of passing that loss to the poor buyers

It is wrong and unacceptable and it needs to be pointed out very loud

I had a similar experience with the guy and I even opened a thread about his scam. Once in a while, I see new "likes and shares" on my old thread and smile to myself knowing that another "mugu" has entered his trap.

He has many accounts on nairaland to upvote himself and attack those who complain about his scams. I believe that is why he has survived so far. For me, he sold a 55" LG to me for 170K some years back. He brought the TV down himself protectively packed like a dead body. When we set the TV up, it had several thick and unsightly lines which were not in the picture he showed to me while we were negotiating. He pretended that the line got there as a result of movement during transportation which I knew was a lie having personally transported TV almost unprotected on the back seat of my car from Alaba to Ibadan at least twice with no damage.

So did you take the TV? I just don't know why people do such or tell stupid lies. It is impossible to get lines due to movements. I do buy used Smart TVs but I am always careful with what the faults are . They can be easily repaired . But selling bad TVs is so wrong
