Taxify is only decieving drivers with the 10% increment in fare as in actual sense it is less than that; 200 basic fare remains, #10/min remains that only increased to #65 from #60/km (I'm not sure of this #65 sef). In many cases, no increase in fares (if compared to #60/km).

While they are obviously earning more from each min fare which remains #500 and drivers earn less from fares of #500 to #1,000 in most cases

Honestly, I've been looking at saying bye to this hustle unless destination trips.
The hustle is becoming harder with less returns.
Bolt increased her commission to 20%, Uber 20 trips to enjoy 3%.
Two weeks ago, I was on my 13th Uber trip on Thurs evening when a stupid guy hit my car so bad in traffic. Got the car back from the workshop on Sat evening so the 13 trips were done for Uber just like that.
I mostly do 4-5 days weekly or less sometimes so Uber's 20 trips doesn't cut it for me.
Na to face bolt for now (Uber for repositioning) till God answers my prayers.
This hustle is very demanding. Shout-out to guys working about 15 hours/6days weekly

Corolla serves ehailing well in Naija for many reasons you & others mentioned. Something I don't think anybody had mentioned is that mecs like repairing it, and the parts are easily found in the market.

It is overhyped for it's ruggedness as I believe a '98 Camry (though not for Uber use) is more rugged

Hatchbacks are accepted by Uber too. The car looks like wagon to me though. Any car; saloon, wagon or hatchbacks is acceptable as long as it's 2000 & above for Uber and 2003 & above for Taxify.
