nitigriti: Bolt says I should pay the driver #2600. From my calculations: 1) Base fare #200 2) Distance is 23 km, not the 35 km Sakamanje he did #65/km * 23 km = #1495 3) Time: He got to the foot of Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge in traffic and then turned back into VI in traffic, spending more time on the trip than was necessary. In fact, the app estimated 50 minutes for the journey; my man spent 2 hours 47 minutes parambulating. Let me just pay him for 2 hours: #10/minute * 120 minutes = #1200 4) I'm adding Lekki toll gate (Ozumba Mbadiwe) fee = #200 5) Total is #3235 6) There is a #300 discount on the ride #3235 - #300 = #2935. 7) I sent the driver my analysis as well as #3000; and messaged him that I will pay the "remaining" #1900 if he makes a convincing case to me.
Thanks guys. Cool...you went with my second option's manual calculation analysis! Very kind of you to give him 3k |

tojahh: Don't manual calculate anything @nitigriti. This is a company expense and what you get receipted for is what you pay.
Trip failure isn't your making neither his. The big issue is Bolt. Nonetheless, I still find it hard to understand where he saw 4,900 displayed on his phone to know that's the fare. From my end here after doing the maths, fee is 2,690. Again, explain to him you would only pay what the receipt says... Nothing less.
Don't beat or get beaten on this issue. Obviously something is not right and that is not your wahala.
Have anyone imagined if it was a CARD TRIP? Who will the driver be threatening to beat up on Monday? Now you know... Driver is on a Long thing.
You have his details... Pay him his 2600 and receipt it. No listen to any app failure bullshit after all the driver didn't say anything like App failure when he charged you 4,900. tojahh, this isn't you! I agree the guy groffed for being dubious - not explaining himself well and took a wrong route as well as asking for what is normally higher than than what the fare would have been if there was no issues. But I quoted you especially because you said it was no one's fault the trip failed. So if it was you and you explained to a rider that your trip failed without you being dubious like this particular driver, you would happily accept '#500' for a trip of #2000 because if was nobody's fault |

nitigriti: Update. He probably used Sakamanje. My office to the drop off point is 23 km according to Google maps. And I didn't even report to you guys that he took a longer route; probably because I told him the client is not familiar with Lagos.
He got to Alexander roundabout just before Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge and refused to climb the link bridge. Instead, he turned off into Ikoyi and went back to VI (Ozumba Mbadiwe).
When I noticed the deviation, I called him. He said the rider told him to take VI route. Rider that is JJC in Lagos.
He just set out to be fraudulent. As you said the guy purposely went round to increase the fare, report this to Taxify as well. And pay him whatever Taxify come up with. Or alternatively, calculate manually based on the 23km and maybe 2 hours and pay him off |

Gentlelife50: So no long trip on Opay? Yet to do long trip I've only done one... Lekki to Lasuth with crazy traffic. I also did another (my first trip) but the rider asked that we end the trip in between and he reordered cos he didn't put the final destination while ordering initially |

Eizenburg: For this hypothetical earning scenario, we’ll assume 50 trips with an average of 10km and 1 hour per trip.
UBER 10km N600 60 mins N660 Base N200 Total = N1460 75% N1095 97% N1416.2 N1095 x 20 trips N21900 N1416.2 x 30 trips N42486 Total Earinings N64386
BOLT 10km N650 60 mins N600 Base N200 Total = N1450 80% N1160 90% N1305 N1160 x 30 trips N34800 N1305 x 20 trips N26100 Total Earinings N60900
Oya, make una start the arguments If someone does less than 40 rides weekly, then UBER makes absolute sense. But for a die hard fan of Bolt that does 60 trips weekly, make person stick to him Bolt even as Uber makes better sense in this same scenerio. If someone doesn't do more than 15 - 30 trips weekly, OCar is the smart choice. In conclusion, Uber over Bolt and Ocar for many trips weekly and Ocar over others for less trips. |

rapheal5: Hello house I'm planing on starting uber business next year but I'm really worried about the type of car to buy either camry 05 or corolla 03 and is it advisable to buy on car45 or jiji my budget is between 800k to 900k...And does uber check car mileage cuz most of the car i see online are over 160,000 to 200,000 mileage...Thanks Caveat emptor and go with a trusted Mec to check. Mileage doesn't matter I believe. Pray & fast over which car to buy . On a serious note, either of the two is fine, depends on your taste - Corolla consumes less fuel while Camry has more elegance |

Base = 200 Km. = 60/km Time = 11/min
What are the respective charges on bolt? Make we do the maths Nah...Bolt is #65 per km/ #10 per min/ #200 base fare And #70/km for long distance trips |

Freshprince91: Dokyoloye, the general term 'Oga' can be an hallmark of respect among contemporary Nigerians but its different with these Olosho girls especially with their tone . You need to walk a mile in our shoes to understand what we go through . One just ruined my day as i am typing this. When i got her request at Lekki , i put a call through to ask for destination and she flared up, so i tried to explain that I've been dodging VIO officers for sometime due to my broken tail light, that i have been extorted on this job enough, so i'd like to keep away from their troubles (12pm -3pm) even though i knew i will be at fault, if they apprehend me but ain't gat the money to buy a new brake light, she hissed throughout the call and later VGC. Midway through our journey, i perceived some foul smell, i had to open the window for fresh air but the odour didn't go away, Damn! When we got to ikate, i told her i need to pull over to check what's smelling, only for me to discover that this girlie don shit for body inside my chacha leather seats Ford Mondeo It was nauseating and before i could utter a word, she vomited. I had to rush to get her water to clean up. My car is messed up already and the only word she mutter was i will give you 500 naira to clean your car at a car wash. I felt like slapping this skele and after i managed to take her to her destination, rudely, she said she does not have any money on her, that the person she came to see is not picking her calls . She didn't even give me the pleasure of an apology. This was someone who lashed out at me for not putting on my AC before i drove to her street, hissed at me because my car charger didn't recognize her iPhone cord. What would you do in that situation? You are so nice. I mean you're nicer than I and many other drivers. What would I have done? If she was a good person and sick, I would understand and help her out. However, for the kind of her person that you painted, I would give her what she deserves. She's inhumane and does not deserve to be living in the midst of people. Imagine, she pooed and didn't tell you before you started running upandan & no iota of feeling sorry nor respect. |

Chuwaa: If he had N900 promo, how come 2700 was displayed instead of 1800 or didn't he look at the driver's or his own app before paying. I think the rider was too much in a hurry or is a compulsive and not well collected guy. No wonder the number supplied was wrong too. My 50 cents This is not you o Since it is card payment on Bolt, the full amount displays on driver's phone but with 'Bolt payment do not accept cash'. So #2,700 was displayed but I guess he didn't check for him to be reminded he was not supposed to pay the driver directly since it was a card trip |

I booked a ride on bolt from back of United estate at alagbole ,that's the estate that has it's entrance at the end of the new bridge on Nov 10th.I just added my card before the trip and was given 900 naira discount . The trip ended and the driver told me it's 2700naira. I did a transfer of 2700 naria to the driver the account he drop is Adedeji olatunji Ibrahim .union bank account ...... about 2 mins after the driver left I remembered it's was a card trip and boost had charge me 1800 naira. I called the driver and he claimed it's a cash trip on his app.
I told him that is a lie that it's a card trip and he should refund the 2700 I transferred to him ,I sent him my account details and since then he refused to pick my calls and he picks if I use a different phone number.
His phone number 08025296330. Name on app Gabriel.
Note that the driver is not the same person in the picture on the app. The drive lives in that estate Report him to Bolt if he doesn't return the money asap. Bolt would give you back your money as a discount. |

These are the nonsense bolt was doing that made me start campaigning for Opay. Now I am online on every app, anyone that comes I do. Nobody should hold me to ransom Yes, drivers to decide which app is better/best for him at different times of the day and per week. Having at least 2 apps is a wise decision now. No more loyalty to any. If Uber has the best offer for the week, na to turn Uber on more. And if na Bolt or OCar, we turn either on. Thanks to OCar for the wake up calls to Uber & Taxify anyway!
