One of the reasons drivers reject trips and ask for destinations before going to pickup location is this o . I didn't ask for destination. Got there, Mum with three kids and help with loads. When I was about starting after we were ready to move, asked for destination. Mum said IKORODU (Sabo). I was like 'I don't go to Ikorodu' in a sober voice. She got down and was ready to remove her things but the humane that I have made me to meet her outside and car and told her I will go. I was there waiting for a trip plus relaxing. I left there after about an hour to General Hospital only for a trip to come asking me to go towards that Sabo again!!! (while typing this post). Me yaf set destination to Sangotedo now!!! |

What if the driver had a great discerning heart and she was actually a prostitute? Let us just agree we were not there and he was very angry and hence his response. Reactions are sometimes worse than actions. I am not saying he was right, he & the rider are the best persons to settle the argument we have here. Apparently, the rider is not on this thread. Chai...the discussions for this matter sef |

GAZZUZZ: what are you? Respond objectively. You are right that we are all drivers. Even people that drive themselves & family (not into ehailing) are drivers. But she meant to insult the man. She could have also used other words to curse him. Like Radautos mentioned, she might have been frustrated but she didn't have to pass the aggression to the man. The lady could have simply pleaded with the driver to come over. A reasonable driver that shows empathy would have gone to any rider if spoken politely to (as long as road is not overflooded ) . So I believe the driver could have gone if the lady explained her situation to him. Normally, drivers believe a rider can easily get a ride if a driver cancels |

xana101: Hi Joe, your uninspected vehicle BDG53FJ will be declined at 6 pm today, which means you will not be able to go online until your car is reinspected. Kindly visit the nearest inspection center to reinspect your car. Use the link to find the closest inspection center to you http:///Car-InspectionCenters Taxify just sent this to me. Did anyone get this too Mine has been overdue for a while but riders' complaints got me blocked without prior notification due to recent AC challenge (though AC is fine now). I didn't get a similar message, mine is kinda different due to the peculiarity. I was planning to ask here if any had his account blocked due to similar reason and if the person was unblocked without reinspection. In your case, since there's a definite date and time (unlike a mail & an in-app message I got last week that wasn't definitive), you may be blocked after the time elapses.

Cooladex: My day in a nutshell.
I picked this guy and his white gf at Eko hotel yesterday to Mushin. (I almost even cancelled the request because of state of Mushin road at the moment) Nice guy, we interacted and gisted all the way, trip was 2,900, guy gave me 5k and said I should come pick them at Eko hotel by 6:30am this mrng to the Int'l airport. Picked them at 6:20 and dropped them off at the airport, guy gave me 6k. I headed to local and got a trip around 8am to awoyaya. 6,300. Immediately I saw a trip from awoyaya back to Int'l airport. 5800.
I decided to go see my mechanic around fatai atere way, and then head home, na so Mushin LG boys double crossed me with towing van while waiting for the mechanic We started doing james bond driving as i was ready to risk it all, I almost broke there legs sef. Na so the guy shout. "mad man mad man"
I just thank God sha if not all the money wey I make for go. I'm home now chilling and waiting for madam. Your day was perfect until some mad men wanted to reap where they didn't sow. Glad you got out of their nest. |

peeps4u: You're hereby awarded the driver of the year!!!!!
You really humbled that lady.
I don't think why some people think someone who probably owns that car is poor because he drives uber.
It is the pride that makes some riders act irresponsibly to drivers and they start ranting when the drivers return the favour. |

I picked up an item yesterday from somolu to lekki phase 1. The guy was just commanding me
Rider. Please fast, by 20 mins you should be at the toll gate. Me. Which of the toll gate?
Rider. Where are you? Me. Yaba.( I was on 3MB)
Rider. For what? You supposed to be in Osborne by now. Me. Okay
Rider. Just tell me where you are because the Map Here says you haven't even moved. Me. I just entered 3MB
Rider. Bros abeg that thing wey you carry dey me very important, people are waiting for it for the past one hour, I'm late already please fly I beg you. Me. Oga, make I park for 3MB here so you can order another one to take your stuff to you because I can't run more than my guts says.
Rider. Oya just dey come no worry. Me. No shaking.
Got there met the place was filled up with participants even expats, I ended trip 1400. Rider gave me 1400 and I said, bros wey the no worry wey you promise me? He say abeg carry yourself get out here! Haha I just laugh, one guy there saw the laugh was that of mischief, the guy call me gave me 2k with these words.
We planned to pay 5k because we thought you will run round the whole place before coming here to increase your money since it's just delivery. Nice one by the other guy that gave you 2k extra. But I think your trip failed at #1,400...you paid #200/300 toll na. The trip shouldn't be less than 2k. Guess the calls during the trip affected the app |

Goodbloke: Good morning boss , please would Uber and bolt accept a Nissan Almera Tino 2006 ?
Is the Nissan Almera Tino good for the hustle in terms of fuel consumption, maintainability etc
Asides a corolla what other car can I buy?
Thanks in anticipation

Nitigriti Oh you are about to acquire. It is very good with fuel consumption and a bit strong. The advantage it has over corolla is the ground clearance (it is high like other hatchbacks). The low side is the electrical and AC. But if one is lucky with one with less wahala sha. Hopefully you get a very good AC tech & good electrical tech too. The parts are not so expensive. I haven't changed my shocks for about two years since I acquired the car. Aside corolla, you can do Civic, KIA, Hyundai or Benz (like someone here advised recently about Benz) |

izzou: If the roads are bad, and you(nitrigriti) asks me to cancel, isn't that cherry-picking?
As long as the roads are bad, and we have a distorted traffic structure, drivers will continue to cherry pick and the service will continue to be unreliable
When I'm in Festac, I can never accept a trip to Satellite town which is less that 10km even if the surge is 3X. But I'll accept a trip to Lakowe, or even Bogije(areas without request).
I'll rather save my investment or that of my partner than please a system. It's neither my fault or uber that the roads are bad Why should I drive 5km to a rider knowing the trip is less than 2km? Some people cannot understand it is important to ask for destinations at times. I didn't used to ask for destinations esp in the morning/afternoon except at night most times until I took a trip to Ikorodu early morning, very bad road, more like a village in Ikorodu. Drove almost 8km there. Return trips no fit happen. I just drove back home as trips (are scare in Ikorodu on a normal day), after I drove a long distance to best areas to get trips in Ikorodu. Experiences shape people differently, just do what works for you and think about the other fellow (rider or driver in any case). As long as your conscience is clear, good for you. |

AntiBrutus: No, that is not what "WE" were defending.
The first person that hopped on his post like what I don't know, didn't even have a word for his colleague. You guys signed a pact to defend yourself in every or what? When a bike hits a car, what do over 10 other bikes around there do? They park, defend and beg na Seriously the guy used a wrong reason in this case to ask for offline. Almost every driver ask for offline for many reasons |

Y1nka: I have no idea, gear moves freely without the need of pressing brakes to change (even before reverse got bad). And seems it was mistakenly put to reverse instead of neutral by someone I gave. Need a gear expert ASAP I suspect it's the connector switch like someone suggested. You can look for a Mec to check first. It shouldn't cost you more than 1k if that's the issue of the Mec can get something to tie it back |
