I have registered for GP, Right to work, NI, electoral roll, Monzo and Lloyds bank

I got registered to a doctor at my GP and still waiting for NHS code so I can go back to my GP for further processing. I got my NI number already, got my monzo and Lloyds bank atm cards.

I got a job two days after I got to UK but still waiting for my DBS to come out cos the company requested for naija police certificate and I needed to make a contact to get in over from naija.

I got a sim with 3 network

I'm a student on a tier 4 visa

Anything else I need to know, apply for or do?

- Rent Receipt in couples name showing same address. (We stayed for 2 years before marriage but you can use between when you got married and present)
- 3 years WhatsApp chat
- 3 years text message screenshots
- 3 years relationship photos
- Wedding photos
- Dependant bank statement showing same address.

PS: You can also use joint investment document. But generally, use what you have to show proof of same address.

It’s better to get your PCC handy before you leave Nigeria. Any job that requires you dealing with humans directly will require it. DBS is when you’re in the uk already

Both DBS and PCC (if dealing with humans directly) are needed as part of your onboarding process and pre employment background checks for any job in the UK.

DBS - Disclosure barring service, is normally conducted by employers, to check history of jobs applicants (remember to put it on auto renewal service, once you receive it).......

PCC - Because you're a new immigrant, some employers would require your police history check, from your destination......... Just get one done, before you migrate.......

I have 2 years of product management experience in Nigeria and also another 2 years of technical recruitment, however, but I am very open to other types of jobs to start with. For example, health care assistant, customer service, retail sales, tutoring, etc till I can get a proper tech job.

I have been researching and seeing people talk about getting a Police Clearance Certificate, PCC, in Nigeria and also a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check in the UK. I want to stay prepared for anything.

So my questions are:

1. Do I really need to do a PCC in Nigeria? like what relevance does a PCC have?
2. What's the exact difference between PCC and DBS? Like when is each one applicable?

This has been quite the journey. God has been extraordinary and we give him all the glory and honour.

MA was initially in september 2023 batch, then we felt we needed more time and so we deferred admission to January 2024. When we heard the news about the no dependant rule from January 2024, we moved back to September 2023 batch. we are so grateful the school (University of Hull) was very prompt with our requests.

Application Date: 15th July
Biometrics Appointment: 24th July (Standard) (TLS Accra). I tried all I could to pay for the priority service, but they insisted they couldn’t at the center.
NSF: 27th July, requesting for a 28days bank statement ….
Hence the question I quoted. I was taken aback by this request and was wondering if something was wrong with the bank statement I had initially submitted. So I responded later that day with the reprinted bank statement, an up to date bank statement, with a printed excel sheet for the count of days 😂😂😂. I Sent this while explaining the funds needed and the 29 days statement itself.

1st August - TLS collection mail dropped
2nd August - Decision Mail dropped (dated 28th July)
3rd August - Picked up my passport.

Please I just got an additional document request from UKVI to upload more proof of relationship evidence to my husband (See attached). We did our court wedding in March 2023 and here are the documents we initially uploaded.

- Our bank statement has the same address, we have been staying together for the past 2 years though both our names are not in the house rent agreement. Should we reattach the bank statement as proof of address?

- We have a joint account (different from what was used for POF) that was opened in June 2023, we didn't upload a reference letter because we felt the account was too new, should we go ahead and submit it now?

- We don't have any investments together.

Please any advice on how to handle this will be greatly appreciated.

Please the MA is currently in the process to pay for IHS and here are some observations:

- Earlier, the MA selected that he doesn't not have anybody financially dependent on him (He is travelling with dependent (Wife) and part of his POF is in her account).
- The MA stated that he will be travelling with his dependent and included her information in his application.
- The system is now automatically stating that You don't have any dependents

My question is: Are we on the right track? Is it okay for the system to conclude that the MA doesn't have any dependent even though his wife/civil partner will be applying with him? It seems the system is concluding this because he filled that he doesn't have anybody financially dependent on him.

Tips:
For TB test, I had issues registering on their portal and making payment. If you encounter issues, just send them an email stating your passport details, where to and date you want. If you don’t get a reply within 3 working days, please go there and see the customer service showing them your email, they’ll fix you a time.



If you made a not so serious and non personal mistake when filling your visa application form, and you noticed after you have paid for ihs and visa fee, but before your biometrics, instead of canceling the application and restarting, which takes 4-6weeks to refund your money, you can write a cover letter and cross the mistake out on your application print out , then upload it as part of your documents submitted.


On getting dollars to pay for most £ or $ payment(ihs, visa fee, etc) I used a Wise account, to escape various local bank charges, stories and troubles I’ve experienced earlier , also stress of looking for Aboki to change naira, you can follow my link if you want to create one and get a bonus https://wise.com/invite/iw/ayooluwao8

I applied for admission on the 13th of February 2023 to the University of Salford for project management (M.Sc), got a conditional offer on the 20th of February 2023 for September 2023 intake. Offer condition “Payment of £5,500” to receive unconditional offer.

Immediately I initiated ‘form A’ using Access Bank, but after being stuck on ADB reviewer for weeks, I cancelled and initiated again using EcoBank.
Unfortunately, EcoBank didn’t debit me too and the school shifted my admission to November.

So I thought I had time not until when I got a mail again that I have deffered to January 2024. Immediately, I messaged and also called the school to plead with them to shift me back to November 2023 and quickly paid the tuition deposit using black market. Fortunately for me, they shifted me back to November 2023.

My agent then applied for CAS on my behalf on the 12th of May and I started POF on the 16th of May.

I got my CAS on the 24th of May and the whole visa application journey began using 17th May to June 21st for the 28 days bank statement (Fidelity Bank).

MAIN APPLICANT & DEPENDANT (Spouse) at IKEJA TLS Standard.

June 15th (MA and Dependant) - Application date.

It seems the ECO is asking for evidence about the origin of the deposit. They want to know who deposited the money to you and why. I guess it's what is commonly called "lump sum deposit".

The money was sent to my access bank account on that very day, but it was not from me. My uncle who base in the US sent the money in US dollar equivalent through peer to peer at black market rate.

The last four digits is the last four digit of my access bank account number that I dropped for my proof of fund. So I am confused.

Hello

Combining statements are easier when it is the same person that owns both accounts

It starts to get tricky when combined accounts that belongs to different people are used even though they are spouses and parents


Whilst It is possible to do so,make it clear what bank statement covers what for the ECO to track. The consent letter should state what the dependant is covering/sponsoring and to an extent why ( Oanda exchange is not a reason) including reiterating that the MA has access to the funds and vice versa.


You may exclude the why but don't be surprised if the ECO requests the additional information later or maybe will not be bothered
