Pakistan is a very good example of a relatively poor country with a formidable military. This country is regarded as a lower income country but its military is among the world’s top 15. So are you saying since Pakistan is often highly rated and since it’s a major nuclear power, it’s automatically richer and its citizens are enjoying more basic freedoms and amenities than countries like Denmark, Hungary, Finland and Switzerland?
All these four countries dust Pakistan off when Per Capital income is what we are looking at. Their citizens are obviously happier and are enjoying more basics of life. They have really great standards of living.

It’s doing well in the areas of technological advancement aimed at military strength but you don’t say they are doing well economically or that it’s people are enjoying the basics of life that are being enjoyed by the citizens of the first world countries because the country has an isolated economy. Next time, before putting things up on public fora, always be mindful of the fact that people are very intelligent and don’t just swallow things without asking questions.
Is North Korea doing relatively well in the areas of technological advancement? The answer is Yes, especially considering the fact that they’ve been under serious sanctions for ages.
