LISTENING
I practised almost all the listening tests on YouTube. Till I started getting more than 35.
During the exam, once the voice asks for a crosscheck of our answers, I move on to read the questions on the next section.
*for crying out loud, what do you want to crosscheck when they will not replay and you have 10 minutes at the end*.

READING
I practised with only IELTS academic reading which was more difficult and it made the general reading easy for me.. In the general test, you still have section 4 to battle with which is similar to AC.
It helped in my last IELTS section 4 which contained all the T/F/NG and Yes/No/NG, 10 questions packed there


WRITING
Of course, I used IDP material only.

SPEAKING.
I didn't practise. I just used Chris' method of Past/Present/Description/Future/Summary for cue card questions. This will help you talk till the examiner stops you in Part 2.

Before now, I know have got wonderful people better than a thousand friends on this thread. Your tots, expressions and spirited hearts since i posted my IELTS experience on this thread still marvels me till tomorrow.

And I can't just appreciate you all enough on this day for celebrating our great news with us and welcoming us to this final lap with success wishes.

To our other colleagues still waiting in one way or the other, I have only one secret that has alwz kept me going strong if you don't mind. It is to just continue thanking and appreciating God in any/every circumstance. If he has done it for you, never stop thanking him and if na waiting list you still dey, continue to thank him still. Like a popular yoruba song goes: "Praise is his food(2x), he doesn't eat garri or ifokore(an ijebu food), praise is his only food".
Continue to praise him & we shall rejoice with you too on this thread.

Finally to my IELTS people, we've started something already and believe me your Success news will sweet me more than the joy I've felt this day. Bravooo guys!

I must not go with saying big thanks to TravelBunny, Skywalk, Flosk(my co. ITArian), and Adebee who have been doing an immense work on our solo IELTS group for our IELTS takers. Hey brother, I read this and it almost moved me to tears but be rest assured that you are not alone in this. I finished ECA a couple of months back but have not entered the pool or received ITA. Ask me why? That's cos am still battling with IELTs, I actually have a remark in progress. Am i discouraged? Sure.... Will I give up? Oh no. There is no going back on this journey except Canada decides to close it's doors which I don't foresee

When I read post like this, i comment because I feel your pain. You did well by coming out. The 300k is not waste, do you know some people travel to Dubai to gate crash job fairs for provincial nominations? Though yours is more painful because you are unemployed but you have the INTEREST and DETERMINATION which is the key. Since it is only IELTS holding you, you must pass it.

You are almost there, don't give up. Continue practicing till you get funds for another exam. In addition, continue praying and fasting for financial favours from God for this process. GOD will not give u a Cross greater than you.

Your Canada dream cannot be stopped by anything. Your testimony date has been fixed here.

I heard writing ielts with IDP is easier to pass instead of British council. Its like british council does random marking coz of the imcreasing number of people writing these days. I know someone who had been getting low ielts score after many trials and then tried that of IDP and finally got the scores he wanted. check out their website.

Guys this is my first time writing I’m so broken inside I don’t even know what to do again. Writing ielts for the 3rd time and still not making it is devastating. especially for the fact that I’m unemployed and I have to save the money everytime on my own. It’s really devastating.
1st try with BC. LRWS- 8.5, 6.5,7,8.5
2nd try with IDP LRWS- 7.5,8.0,6.5,8.5
3rd try with IDP LRWS: 8.5,6.5,6.5,8.5
This is demoralizing I have done my ECA since August just waiting on this IELTS and now I was really hoping this would be the last time but I can’t believe I have to continue this again next year. I prayed and prayed and I studied and studied still nothing. This is almost 300k wasted. Having to watch my friends that I even told about the program move on and get PPR and I’m still stuck here. � lemme just stop typing I’ve been crying since morning.
