maziemeka2024: I think November should be between end of February and end of March. I submitted 13th of November. Are you a first time applicant? Be expecting a response any moment from next week, if they still process applications based on their timelines. As at the time I applied mid November, the processing time was barely 100 days. Early December, it was 109 days before they shot it up astronomically in the week that followed. Though I've since picked up my visa. I had a valid US visa with 5 years validity before applying. |

Richtaiwo: Well, not by any chance supporting the current situation of the country, but this comparison no follow at all. If you go backward to let's say 1980, the cost of a bag of cement may even be less than N20. Minimum wage now is 30k, which is being reviewed. What was the average earnings in 1992? Even in the US, where you all take as model, prices of commodities in the nineties are not the same today. Global inflation is the word. As I said, I'm not by any chance supporting the current harsh situation in Nigeria but that comparison is off track. Global inflation is real but the type Nigeria is facing is leadership-push inflation. Go to cotonou, a bag of rice 3 or 4 years ago is almost the same today. We used to change 1,000 naira for 10,000 cfa before entering cotonou just a few years back. Today, 10,000 naira is less than 5,500 cfa. How do you explain this? |

NaijaGoBetter2: Sorry oooo... Anyone can fall victim of this by in today's world, it's reasonable for anyone to request STD test results before engaging in sexual activity. The traditional expectation of commitment before intimate relations has evolved, with many individuals maintaining multiple partners simultaneously. While HIV is a serious condition, it can be managed. Be mindful of your health, and avoid spreading HIV. The thing is so rampant in Nigeria today but the government who's supposed to be sensitising the masses are busy chasing money while the future generations' lives are being destroyed. You'd see men and women looking clean and healthy, not knowing they're carrying the virus. They take their drugs regularly so the gullible minds won't notice this on them. People should be very careful. |

Those involved in dollar infractions are their allies so, it will be so difficult for him to arrest them. They'd be the first to run into exile by the time the military tales over and their accounts would be frozen. You'd see how massively the naira would regain its strength. |

100 bags is ₦1m. How poor man wan take get house like this? We don't have all the raw materials. We only have the stones which they grind. We don't have the chemicals which make the grinded stones solidify when it's mixed with water. They import those chemicals at 1,650 naira to a dollar rate. Or do you think once they grind the stones, they'd just bag them and sell? |
Politics › Re: FG Summons Dangote, BUA Over Rising Cost Of Cement by Eriokanmi: 3:29pm On Feb 17, 2024 |
Richtaiwo: No need inviting the two greedy capitalists leveraging on high cost to feast on Nigerians. Just find a way of reducing the hardship. Things will naturally take proper shape. Inviting them is just like forcing or begging them. Guy, don't blame them. They can't bag only grinded limestone without adding the chemicals that make it coagulate. They import those chemicals, they buy at same 1,650 naira to a dollar rate. Local industries are in a great mess under Tinubu's bad economic policy. I predicted that a bad of cement would be sold for 9k a few weeks ago and today, not only is it a reality, the price is also going beyond what was predicted cos fx rate has never stopped going up. |

PHAYOL81: Again look into the mirror for the bigot. Aina made CAF best team too but it didn't matter because you want to shove it down our throat that he underperformed (even though you're wrong)basically because of a bad day in the final game where everyone of them flopped. Bassey even made a mistake that directly led to a goal in the same match and had less influence on the tourney than Aina but yet, just to show bigotry, you decided to dragged him instead into the underperformers circle because Iwobi was being dragged. You want to reciprocate what you believed was the doing of the Yorubas hence the Aina comment. Onyeka was useless in the midfield that day, not shielding the defence properly and was run ragged by Kesse in the midfield thus exposing the backline more but those don't matter. But when Aina couldn't stop Adingra, he suddenly became a flop to you and is being blamed for the two goals, one of which the attack that led to it was gifted to the opponents by another defender who failed to get a mention from you because he was from a certain tribe you'd love to protect. Don't sweat it, that's everything your anthics say. It's written all over your post. I hadn't even thought of checking your previous posts until you mention your political leaning to cover your lineage. You just go about decieving yourself with that moniker, you reeks whom you are point blank. About Obasanjo, the people who usually believed YORUBA or a section of the tribe had one time refered to him as IGBO or having IGBO lineage are the IGBOS themselves. They confused the YORUBAs disassociation from him as not belonging to them especially where many proclaim that since he usually had association with them tribe and favour them more than his tribe, then he can be a part of the IGBOS too and nobody cared anymore. But things he did was in the interest of one NIGERIA and never for once criminalized, quarrel with any YORUBA man unjustly neither did he fail to give credit to whom is due. He commended Asiwaju Tinubu when he started the Lekki FTZ and the EKO ATLANTIC project despite both not agreeing on political ground. I can't even read...you may keep them your kids..many thanks |

PHAYOL81: If you're looking for a bias mindset, just go look into a mirror and the dude with the worst one would be glaring at you. Jeez, who amongst them had a good game in the game in the final (the only game because of whom you wanted to put a blame on Aina)? If ever we even have to blame any of the defender, it should even have been Bassey who stvpidly chested a high ball down in front of our goal area for an oncoming Ivorian attacker to capitalized on for the second goal. Go back to the game to see the mistake that led to the second goal. You're blinded to the mistake but complains about Aina who was trying to defend the blunder (albeit unsuccessful). Why don't you call out Troos too for allowing Haller sneaked a foot into his front for the goal or was it only Aina that must stop a goal? Again, Bassey was such a big fool for gifting the Ivorian such glorious opportunity and he should thank his star people overlooked the blunder. The team, itself, was able to make the final on the back of such very good defensive workrate from the backline, the one of which Aina was a pivotal contributor. Iwobi was being called out because he had a bad tournament. Same way Chukwueze and some others.
And running under such moniker can't change your lineage, you know. Butterfly thinking itself a bird. I won't join issues with you on the last paragraph. It's my opinion and choice on whomever I support as a political candidate so respect that. After all, Obasanjo et all were called ibo and skies had always remained intact. I won't support or defend any candidate of questionable character so take that. Are you now CAF who gave Ekong that recognition? I guess you know better than them. Is Iwobi whom I condemned for poor performance not ibo? That I mentioned Aina had now caused your mind to be unsettled abi, tribalistic bigot like you |

What startled me the most about the Iwobi incident was one Tinubu supporter in my area who was berating Iwobi for his “bad performance.”
I heard youngsters gave him "massive love" while he was arguing like a fool in one of the viewing areas where he went to see the UCL.
Lips swell up like British pounds versus the Naira. This doesn't have anything to do with those ignorant beings who are Tinubu's supporters. I watched the matches. Iwobi is an overrated player. Those who know me here would attest to the fact that, I'm not a tribalist. He's never been in full form since he's been playing for eagles. His promorers I'd say, are just praising him for not doing enough. His passes are either too short or inaccurate. He shouldn't have been part of that squad. Aina is another bad player who shouldn't be part of the team. The heroes of the afcon outing among our boys are Lookmon, Nwabali,Ekong and Chukwueze. They really worked hard to see us through to the finals. I wish we had our best 11 with their likes |

Johnjustice: Dollar problem bringing our nation to it's knees. We must remove dollar monopoly from our imports system, and sell our crude and gas in naira, this will strengthen naira. Tell them to expose those behind subsidy scam, also tell them to freeze dollars stashed in the various bank accounts which I doubt they'd do because it would be as good as shooting themselves in the leg. They're the ones who own most of the dollars. My friend who went and joined us army as a nurse was busy saving his money in an account with his wife. One day they blocked the money and asked why were they saving so much and untouched, asking them to come and explain. There's over 30bn USD in the various bank accounts owned by the majority of these politicians and bank directors who are their SPVs. They're our main problem. I hope the masses would be bold enough to confront them someday Lastly, tell them to stop corruption and reduce cost of governance by a large percentage in reflection of the current economic woes. How can law makers be asking executives to release grains to the population as if that grains flow like water which can't finish? What happens once grains are exhausted from their buffer? I was expecting them to say they'd reduce their allowances and give to the executive to import food items in a short term but none of them ever said this during their plenaries. |

How? Our government is the most clueless in the world. When they want to give out agriculture loan, they'd share it with state governors. Its just like giving a cat some fried fish to share with others.
We have bank of Agriculture where applicants can go and obtain loan with flexible interest rates and pay back.
To make Nigeria a self-sufficient country in rice production is very easy. Engage an independent body to train youths on modern rice production, give them a certificate after training and visit the place where they want to cultivate rice, sell improved yields to them and give them modern farm implement at a flexible rent and monitor progress. In 3 years, there would be rice everywhere. We'd also be exporting. |

ValCon888: Considering the location and time of the crash, it's highly likely the Wigwes had planned to attend the Superbowl holding in Las Vegas.
Many people don't understand the difficulty in flying a helicopter compared to an airplane.
Once a plane generates enough lift, it takes off. All the pilot needs is to get the aircraft to cruising altitude and after that he can sip a coffee or go use the toilet. The plane will fly itself until its time to land.
Helicopter pilots on the other hand need to actively control the aircraft from take off to landing.
In simple terms, they need to control the helicopter up and down, and left and right while the helicopter is moving forward.
Don't forget you're simultaneously controlling the X axis and Y axis which tilts the nose and tail up or down like a seesaw.
And this doesn't include landing the helicopter which is another challenge by itself.
There are so many variables that can stall the helicopter causing it crash.
A perfectly good helicopter can crash because it's traveling over a pocket of thin air and can't generate enough lift. If there's engine or rotor trouble, just start praying to God.
In sum, if you have alternative means of transportation use it. Only travel by chopper if it's absolutely necessary you do so. Valid! |

Debbieeeeeee: It's funny how they did some right and wrong profiling of people. One of my colleagues was affected as she reapplied twice but was refused both times. She went for a third time and was finally granted the visa. Some of my other colleagues were also affected and they still haven't received their visas. As for me, I was called for an interview because they thought I had given birth during a certain period, but to their disappointment, I didn't have a baby during that time. As a result, I was granted the visa. While your points are very valid, I'm still upset that I was wrongly profiled 😂😂 because it took me three attempts to get an interview date, On the first attempt passport was returned, second attempt appointment was moved due to elections, and the third one same again final one was in March and by then I was tired of being rescheduled. However, I had a baby last year and was able to renew my visa with ease when I returned to Nigeria. I also declared it at the border and used the visa four times within two years, even though it was originally granted for a holiday in 2021. You're right. They're very unpredictable. We should just keep praying for God's favour each time cos some of them have skanskan for head. I pray each time I'm having a visa appointment with them cos at times, they can misbehave. Being frequently travelled and well prepared aren't enough. Sorry for sounding religous but it's helped me 100% of the time. I remember when I got over 2 years multiple German schengen visit visa and my friends were asking me if I was going for studies. It's quite rare |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Eriokanmi: 1:33pm On Feb 14, 2024 |
Debbieeeeeee: I must clarify, sir, that your assumption is incorrect. The fact is, I was profiled along with several others, and was invited for an interview. During the interview, the visa officer asked me about a baby, which was confusing as I had not given birth to any child nor had I used the expired visa. I believe that I was profiled because I had used a new passport with a different name for my application, which led them to assume that I had gotten married, had a child, and changed my name, which was not the case. Your case might be different. Maybe you changed your last(maiden)name due to marriage. They'd definitely want to see you to clarify that name change. Maybe they mistook you for one of those who abused B1/B2 to go give birth in the past. My point is valid dear. Imagine the vo talking about a baby during your interview. They have a long list of them back then . I know of 2 people who were affected. Till now, one of them keeps getting rejected. She's applied like twice now. She gave birth twice, using the B1/B2 visa within 2 years of visa validity and i warned her husband. They turned deaf ear. Her intention for traveling when she renewed her visa was vacation and she indicated this on her DS160 |

The only real policy change as it stands now is floating of Naira which we virtually all agreed on.
The complains and focus on Tinubu are largely inspired by political fortune of those rigged out. You and who agreed on floating of naira? You must be a comedian. Did Angola not remove subsidy? Did they remove it at once and did you hear their people go hungry and protesting like our people as seen nationwide? Let me remind you of something you've been blinded by this your mentor not to see. Jonathan didn't just wake up to remove subsidy. He had already put enough palliatives in place. I remember the sure-p programme which was what the proceeds of the subsidy was centered on. What did Tinubu and Co do? They stormed the streets and sponsored protests just to gain power. They said subsidy was a scam. Where is the money saved so far from that subsidy since last year? Why are they still paying subsidy they said had gone? You need to go back and think of better ways to defend this clueless man. |
