ahmedio2017:NEPA privatisation was never transparent. They sent GE away. GE bidded as well for it. They simply sold it to themselves. Wetin patience Jonathan, Tinubu ( who bought his own tru proxy), Abdulsalaam Abubakar, etc know about electricity? They all bought the Discos and shared it amongst themselves. These are the same people you guys are worshipping today as idols, those who are killing you and the economy softly. They said obasanjo squandered billions of dollars on electricity right ? Can you have power without building power plants? That's what he did...providing the basis for uninterrupted power supply in the country but because many have been perpetually blinded by these politicians they're following, they believe them hook line and sinker. For you to know if what obj spent on power was justifiable or not, go and ask Tony elumelu how much he spent on his Geregu Power Plant or how much Davido's dad spent on his own so far, which is even far from completion. Then multiply the amount by the number of plants built by obj. Many would simply keep quiet thereafter. Same people told you that the fx rate when Jonathan was in power was too high, insecurity level was high, subsidy was a scam and Jonathan must not remove it but deal with subsidy scammers, fuel was selling at a high price but with nothing to show for it, blablabla. I blame Jonathan for not arresting and jailing the propagandists back then. He caused the mess we have on ground by letting them take power. He also allowed some corrupt individuals hold sway. Now, a dollar is over 1,500 naira, but they're keeping quiet Crude had been selling at favourable price steadily for long, they're keeping quiet The same people who attacked Jonathan have now removed subsidy but without palliatives first in place, putting a cart before a horse, even though Jonathan had put palliatives in place with a sure-p programme covering every sector, but they protested. Now that subsidy had been removed, no account for the money invested and for the first time ,.people were seen protesting over hunger and hardships in a country so blessed by God and our youths are leaving Nigeria in droves. They're not talking. They said too much imports cause the free fall of the naira as if we had always been an exporting nation when the military, obj and Jonathan were in office and naira was so strong in value. There are many developed countries who export less but with a strong economy. I keep saying this, leadership is about competence. You can't govern by way of propaganda and end well, never! Nigerians have been blinded by religion and ethnicity. I heard an Islamic cleric in the north criticising Tinubu over economic hardships as if he didn't support a same faith ticket. These people have forgotten that Muslims, Christians, pagans, atheists go to same market to buy and sell. You'd not be attended to on the basis of your religion by yam or fish seller. I have been seeing Kemi recently the UK's trade minister on TV. She visited Nigeria. If she were a Nigerian, she'd probably not have been known if she doesn't know one powerful politician or the other. We worship mediocrity in Nigeria and that will keep affecting us until we change our mindset. I don't pity those protesting over hunger, they are reaping the benefits of their foolishness. In a poor country like Nigeria, our law makers are the highest paid in the world. Instead of going for locally made SUVs to save our economy, they went for toyota suv. These are the people they should focus their protest and vent their anger on. Corruption has been institutionalised in Nigeria. You see a minister moving the money meant for the downtrodden in the society into an individual account? I heard of an accountant-general singly stealing over 100bn naira in the administration, who came under the umbrella of change. Military administration patronised Peugeot in their 3 decades rule, why not patronise local manufacturers, give them specs and save us those dollars wasted at a time like this? A lot is wrong with nigeria and nigerians. Until they change their mindset, we'd always get it wrong. Apologies for derailing this thread. I just needed to put this up. |
NuCypher:Yes, there were reports that some applicants abused the type of visa issued to them. Some said they were going for visiting but ended up going to give birth and all these weren't the reasons stated in their applications. Some gave birth and never paid bills in full while some benefited wrongly from health insurance. The embassy also learnt that some overstayed their visits. All these contributed to the IW programme suspension. I read about the suspension widely back then. So, they needed to see people whom they had pegged down for queries face to face and query them, instead of expressly rejecting their drop box applications hence, the suspension of the programme. You know Nigerians now. They always abuse opportunities. Now that they're seeking asylum in Canada instead of returning home, they've blocked the chances of genuine and innocent TRV applicants because they'd become more strict now than ever in scrutinising applications. Canada that I know had not been so magnanimous with TRVs as they had been last year. When we used to apply at their VI office back in the days before they engaged VFS, only 2 out of 10 applicants could be issued a visa and they could issue as low as 2 months validity back then. So, because of this, hardly would you see people in front of their embassy. They just avoided them. It used to be very dry, except during admission period when you'd see students line inside their cubicle for visa appointments. If I were those young TRV holders, I'd go and come back and that wouid have even sped up my express entry processing if they apply. But they don't want to make such a sacrifice. |
NuCypher:Living and applying from outside Nigeria has validated your claim. Because i remember in May 2019 when I wanted to renew via a drop box and they said they've suspended the IW programme. This went on for over 2 years and the longest visa validity one could get in Nigeria was 2 years as of then. They resumed the IW late 2022 with those whose visa had expired in the last 12 months, this was later extended to 24 months and further |
Governors paddi man. If you know, you know. They'd soon begin to fight dirty over his assets and huge investments with his financial worth. Most bank directors are politicians' custodians and SPVs. I remember what happened after the fourscore owner died in the ikoyi mansion. You see governors visiting the site as if they truly care. Na cos of the money we don enter one chance |
Morbeta11:APC is confused with ruling. They're now searching for Obi's bank deposits and using this to attack his followers . They tried and tried to pull him down, but no evidence. They'd try till fade |
Debbieeeeeee:Well then, that's possible in that case |
NuCypher:I read this piece with keen interest. You said the last time you visited the US embassy was 10 years ago for visa and you've been sending your passport via mail for visa stamping since then right? I would doubt this claim, provided you're not resident in Nigeria. There was a time the interview waiver was suspended in Nigeria for all B1/B2 applicants and we all had to appear for a visa interview. How were you able to obtain or renew your visa without appearing during these periods? This affected me as well and I've been traveling to America unhindered since 2004. Please shed more light. |
Lol. Stop picking up a girl from the village and training her just because you want to marry her, una no go hear. Oju ti laaa . If you must do this, make sure you pay her bride price and take her in with you. Do the legal thing and let her give you children. She can bag PhD under your roof if you're capable of training her up to that level. Even some ladies on whom you've paid bride price still look back. I had a gf back in the days. She got married to an American citizen. This man came to do the needful and invited her. He empowered her parents financially. While she's there, she always chatted me, saying she'd plan on coming home alone and spend some time with me, for the old time's sake. She always disturbed me. I always told her that old times have passed away, and I'm now a new creature. She should stay with her husband. If the man should know all these, he could either kill himself or kill her or do both. If a married lady could go this far, the one you are not yet married to, can do even worse. This is the type that always discourages men from training girls with the hope of marrying her cos there are still God-fearing ones amongst them. But very, very scarce. |
Sirmwill:You gerrit |
Ogun is pretty too small to be split, osun too. I support splitting of oyo into 3 states with ibadan standing alone as a state. It's pretty big a state |
I blame Jonathan for the current economic woes. Had he jailed all the propagandists who eventually succeeded in pulling down his government backed by a great economic team, the country would have only remained stronger because he had all the powers. The sky wouldn't have been pulled down. By the time he arrests like 10 key people and charge them for treason, their noise-making followers would have kept quiet. See how they took office and destroyed everything? Dollar is now 1,515 naira but they're keeping quiet. Crude is selling at a good price but nobody is hearing anything. Every future politician must learn from Jonathan's weakness cos the consequences could be grave. |
SpatialKing:This is a clear message to all the religous and tribal bigots. Bigotry doesn't develop a nation, competence does. I can imagine the sultan of sokoto saying they enjoyed Jonathan's government than they did Buhari's. Had Jonathan not been soft in some ways, he'd have been one of the heroes of democracy in Nigeria today. He messed up big time. He allowed these propagandist enter government and destroyed Nigeria. They're even confused right now. None of their economic policies is working, despite selling crude at a good price per barrel. How the USD hit over 1,500 is still like a dream to me. We warned them when they said tinubu is the master planner of lagos. Someone who's the father of propaganda. |
Enough please. People should allow them rest in peace and declare their stewardship to their maker according to their deeds while on earth. It's never too early to start doing good cos you never can tell when your end would come. No human can predict that, except God. |
yarimo:I hope Obi matter will not turn you into something unpleasant someday someone who doesn't even know you exist on NL |
Terrible! I'm short of words. We're truly nothing before our creator. |
SIONKPO1:He has always been. I didn't like his pattern of play from day one. He's overrated. |
Bfly:Did you see Tinubu, the self-acclaimed man of the people there as they claimed he would land in CIV? That's how to know a committed and caring leader. Ariwo ko ni muzic. I keep telling some ignorant followers of Tinubu here that there are countries in africa where great things are happening but they are not making noise about it. Our population that is supposed to be a blessing to us is turning otherwise. Got to Malawi and Angola. You would think you are in Europe. We are only giants of Africa by population. See the wave of abandonment by multinationals...those who have been with us for ages and have contributed greatly to our economic development in revenues. What does that mean to you? It's so unfortunate. One day a country like Ivory Coast will challenge us on development. Benin Republic that once had a useless currency has overtaken us with their currency's strength. If this is not backwardness, I dont know what else to call it. I will always blame Jonathan for allowing these hungry people to rule Nigeria. He should have put them where they belonged during those propaganda years and Nigeria would have been better for it today. |
Neoteny7:Google is your friend. That kind of copter can actually accommodate much more than the passengers on board. Ordinarily, bosses would have preferred their PAs to always be by their side than any family member. Everyone has inner voice in the face of danger but most people tend to ignore it. The guy didn't travel to America by road mind you, so why wouid he be scared of traveling on such a short distance? I remember someone who was asked by his gf who rarely showed him care to come and see her as she's been missing him much. My friend sat and had a deep thought, trying to find out why was she becoming so nice, all of a sudden, someone who was always proving hard to find. My friend faked his traveling to Abuja as a reason he'd not be able to see her. 3 months later, there was news everywhere that she tested positive for hiv. It was her close friend who went to the lab with her that exposed her. Some guys would have seen that invite as a free stuff and would have fallen victim. Need Nwoko would have perished inside that ocean gate submarine too, which killed those billionaires who went to see the titanic wreckage. He shared his story. He's a close friend to the owner of the ocean gate sub. He narrowly escaped it. I remember the ikoyi tower that collapsed and killed the developer and some other people, where one man narrated how he narrowly escaped death. |
Throwback:For those who wish to listen. The Inner voice is so quiet and gentle such that, it takes discerning ears to listen. Happy are those who always heed that gentle voice. |
surgical:In all these, I blame Jonathan, the clueless man for allowing these hungry people into power. I'd have locked them up or sent them on exile during that protest. He had all the power but so clueless and weak. So unfortunate. They're even doing worse today, about things they protested against when GEJ was in office and everyone is just keeping quiet, suffering and smiling. Every future politician must take a lesson from Jonathan's weakness. Time never reach to react by the masses. People are facing a lot |
MrProlific95:At all. They deserved to win. Like I said from the beginning, Ivorians qualifying as best loser into the rounds of 16 was a sign they could lift the trophy, which they did. I never expected eagles to have gone this far as I wasn't really expecting much from them, going by their poor start. Kudos to them |
WINDSOW:I thought I was the only one seeing him play. I wonder why he wasn't removed in the first half. FYI, I never liked his pattern of play from day one. Seeing him feature in this tournament was a surprise to me. Osimeh just came to show his half form. My kudos goes to Nwabali and our boy Lukmon, for taking us thus far. Ekong tried too. Iwobi's passes are either not accurate or too short. He's an overrated player. Aina too didn't do well. He fumbled big time. Above all kudos to the entire team cos I didn't expect them to hit finals. They were so annoying at the beginning. To all those supporting this fake government, I hail oo.. Where's tinubu in the stadium? Shebi una talk say him go land there nii. Lying is your surname. Shame!!! |
CoronaVirusPro:Go and see our pith at the national stadium and compare. CiV may not have the best of patches but I commend them on this as a single host. I never expected it. |
ghiloman28:100? Show us stats pls |
Basic123:Which ministry are you in? This isn't true. I have close relations who are senior fed workers in the various ministries who haven't received kobo. One of them is watching football here with me. He entered lagos Friday evening to return 2moro morning. He's just laughing at your post when I showed him. |
CoronaVirusPro:Nigeria makes a lot of noise. See ordinary CIV. I'm so impressed. Leadership says it all |
ghiloman28:Yes because America is a place where things work for the citizens and the government rises to the occasion of taking care of their economy amd citizens without reeling out lies or propaganda. |
axglide:You're correct. I used to see the very long bus back then, in my way to kwara when schooling in Ilorin, with a foreign number plate. Your people are also in Lome, Togo. I used to see 2 buses as a matter of fact, maybe one for Lome in Togo and the other for Abidjan. They leave I think, once in a week. I don't know if they still do that today. You may ask people of Ejigbo of the history of their forebears and why they emigrated to those 2 countries. I remember Emmanuel adebayor's parents with this your post. |
clockwisereport:I didn't see that one, lol. It's only what is revealed to me that I say. May the best team win. As Nigerian, I'd always support my own at this point, though they didn't impress me at start. |
I saw a major figure's jet in this country being chased in the air by another jet. The major figure's jet was ahead while those chasing him were right behind him. They eventually hit his jet and it crash-landed somewhere in the southern part of the country. Please people, let's pray against any plane crash in Nigeria this year. I don't joke with my revelations. Ivory coast is in finals today as predicted. Though i said it jokingly back then. I didn't emphasise it cos of all those NL atheists whose minds have been hijacked by the devil. Happy Sunday to you all. |
Ojemedad:Thank you. I'd have travelled by road earlier instead even though I could afford the airfare. Only a foolish man or woman would burn out thehr hard earned money on airfare just to fly to watch afcon final. What a wasteful country we live in. I bought my inlaws tickets to ATL 3 months ago and 1.8m each and just last weekend, someone who wanted to travel for same programme told me he paid 3m on airfare for same event. We blame everything on govt meanwhile, the citizens are worse in thehr planning and Prudence. I'm not a fan of apc/tinubu fyi. They're the worst that can happen to Nigeria but citizens like you need a re-orientation |

. They tried and tried to pull him down, but no evidence.
