Hmmmm!!!. I smell cockroach |
flames007:Good! |
Truthisunique2:You're right. I remember all he said ahead of 2015 elections and BMCs called him all manner of names here on Nairaland. They should seek God's forgiveness. |
pretydiva:It's a good piece of advice but a hard decision to make. I had a gf who would leave her fiancee to meet me in Lagos and spend days. Her fiancee would think she truly went to see her friend. There's a lot of inevitable reasons which would not make you leave your ex just like that. Not all relationships end in fight or irreconcilable differences. Some could be that their genotype didn't match and they got to know late, lots of issues my dear. In such a situation, the girl's minds would always go for her ex especially if they truly loved each other. |
killmods:You need to see how hard am laffing here all alone. |
Richsteemit:Guy, if your story is true, face your work. Study her. 6 months isn't enough to do this please. Don't jump into a conclusion yet and don't listen to small boys who don't know what marriage is all about here. Dem planti. Ultimately, commit it in God's hands while still studying her. Don't be in a hurry, I reiterate. Good luck |
Time T, very important. Have you gotten one yet? Health is wealth, just like someone up there had said. Consider your health and catch some sleep when necessary. Let me help some few youths here for free with some tips. I own a comfortable job yet, I still do a couple of jobs online/remotely, which equally permits me to come here at my leisure to read news and contribute where applicable. Don't copy me please cos I'm always online Now let's go... 1- Get a LinkedIn account. I got 2 of my remote jobs via LinkedIn. LinkedIn sent me these job tips themselves so I knew they were legit. 2- Always type the link to your profile on LinkedIn on Google search and hit it like 4 times daily...it doesn’t cost you anything. This increases your chance of being reached or searched for, by potential employers. If you own a company or business, do the same too. One of the jobs I turned down said they reached me via Google search. Meanwhile my profile was only on LinkedIn. Though i turned down the offer due to the reason best known to me. 3-Some People said Facebook is also a good source of securing a remote job but I've never tried such before and i dont know how. You may just give it a try. 4-Some said they've gotten some reliable remote jobs via clickbank but I've never tried it also. You may give it a try. 5-Always have some tools handy, in case you'd need to update your resume especially when you're not in a position or location where you can scan , edit or print. Look for the following software apps and download for free. a-Foxitpdf or NitroPdf( for pdf editing, download basic, not pro so they don't charge you, being a fresh applicant who doesn't have money yet) b-Camscanner( for scanning of documents for free) c-Ms Office( for updating your resume before scanning to the potential employer) Good luck guys. |
This party would scatter beyond and get shattered repairs. |
See as the report stylishly moved the collapsed national grid by 2 years, just to exonerate the apc. This is the worst I've seen in decades. I don't know about others. The blackout never lasted this long |
I remember the day I met this guy in the DAR Hall, near the white House when he came to give us a pep talk. It's a day I'd never forget ![]() |
wiseoneking:Same here, my nairaland dad |
AldrichAmes:If I remember well, we were comparing an apple with an apple in my precious post. Russia can't face Germany and not regret it, let alone face America. Did you know why America left Afghanistan, restored and supported taliban rule after their long stay to restore peace in that country? It's laughable when you misconstrued this move with defeat....really laughable. If the taliban led-govt falters in their promise of change, American forces will return. So far, they're behaving well. On the Ukrainian joint forces from NATO as you wrongly posited, NATO never sent a single soldier to fight in Ukraine, go and do your research again and i dont know where you're getting this false information from. How does supporting Ukraine with weapons by NATO equate sending military to Ukraine?NATO only sent troops to Eastern European Countries to secure their borders against Russian possible invasion, learning from Ukraine attack. Only a few countries have even agreed to support with weapon among nato countries so far. All those joining Ukraine to fight Russia were mercenaries( those independent and professional fighters who fight for a living and volunteers) Are you aware there are pro-russian Ukrainians and separatists too, who are joining forces with Russia to fight Ukraine? I wonder why you skipped this in your post. Their leader had even been captured by Ukraine as we speak, same way Russia captured a british mercenary( not a British force...there's a difference between the two) last week. So, you can't say all the formation of Russian fighers are only Russian army without the fusion or support of the separatists and Belarusian army. They're both using mercenaries to fight ( i mean Ukraine and Russia) . If all you said about Russian military might was the truth, why was putin advocating for fighters and volunteers from friendly nations? If what you're saying is correct about Russian army, why have they lost so much of their soldiers? This isn't propaganda but confirmed information by russians themselves, including their topmost generals who died in the ongoing offensive. Russia has been so much rated before this war by lots of people, including myself. So far with what I've seen, all I can say is, I'm so disappointed. They've lost much more heavy weapons and men ( as displayed openly in the media) than any other. The recent warship was a clear proof of their weakness, even though they refused to admit it was caused by Ukrainian missile. |
olugabbie:Don't mention Russia again jare. Dem fall my hand big time. Only noise, no action. On USA and China or USA and France, or China and UK or USA and Germany...they both wouid fight a sophisticated war bro. They might not even leave their borders. Supersonic and High precision cruise missiles wouid be deployed such that, it wouldn't go off target. All targets would be aimed to street level without recording civilian casualties unlike seen in Ukraine today Whoever has the best anti missile attackers on their territories would win the war |
Good to know. Nairaland criers than the bereaved may now take a bow and rest |
ApenaEde:...and Davido? |
Source pls. For Tinubu to be talking this way, he must have seen it clearly written on the wall that Buhari wouldn't pick him as the party's flagbearer. Was it not same Tinubu who went and pulled Buhari, someone who had already lost the hope of occupying aso rock after several failed attempts out of his cocoon in Kaduna, flying him up and down for his selfish ambition? He had better mind how he runs his mouth hecause the retired general can pick him up and do him shege ![]() |
We already know. They're both aspiring. 2023 go sweet...and that's if there would be an election at all...in pastor adeboye's voice |
Barbara007:picture pls?. This would influence rent decision, not by explaining or describing |
iHart:I'm telling you. There are some things I've learned in this war, which I think everyone should also take home. Long term threats can become a reality someday so, its pertinent that every nation prepares well ahead... e.g, boko haram insurgency as seen today. My inlaws fled Zaria early 80s for Lagos as a result of this islamist extremism. He said as far back as late 70s, they've been threatening to attack other places, including our military base and had been repelled a couple of times at Jaji. Nigerian government didn't prepare ahead, so unfortunate. There's a group called maitasins in borno who were also killing people with knife. They underestimated their activities, especially when same buhari was their governor. He couldn't do much to neutralise them. Now, they're disturbing Nigeria's peace. Nothing is sovereign anymore when it comes to war. Cameroon nearby, if she's got the guts can challenge and invade Nigeria anyday. Don't underestimate any country as you don't know how much they've prepared too. Communication in time of war is very important to troops. This is lacking in the Russian camp and it makes them more vulnerable to attacks |
WoundedLamb:Finland and Sweden right now , especially ![]() |
ICEWIN:But na naija most of them dey commot nah. Look at his face very well. He looks like an....tribe whose forebears were taken in slave trade across the Atlantic over 3 centuries ago. Look again. He resembles one of the former governors in that area ![]() |
Stupidly frustrated black dude |
FORT IRWIN, Calif. (AP) — In the dusty California desert, U.S. Army trainers are already using lessons learned from Russia’s war against Ukraine as they prepare soldiers for future fights against a major adversary such as Russia or China. The role-players in this month’s exercise at the National Training Center speak Russian. The enemy force that controls the fictional town of Ujen is using a steady stream of social media posts to make false accusations against the American brigade preparing to attack. In the coming weeks, the planned training scenario for the next brigade coming in will focus on how to battle an enemy willing to destroy a city with rocket and missile fire in order to conquer it. If the images seem familiar, they are, playing out on televisions and websites worldwide right now as Russian forces pound Ukrainian cities with airstrikes, killing scores of civilians. The information war on social media has showcased impassioned nightly speeches by Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as Russian efforts to accuse Ukraine’s forces of faking mass killings in towns such as Bucha — massacres that the West blames on Moscow’s troops. “I think right now the whole Army is really looking at what’s happening in Ukraine and trying to learn lessons,” said Army Secretary Christine Wormuth. Those lessons, she said, range from Russia’s equipment and logistics troubles to communications and use of the internet. “The Russia-Ukraine experience is a very powerful illustration for our Army of how important the information domain is going to be,” said Wormuth, who spent two days at the training center in the Mojave Desert watching an Army brigade wage war against the fictional “Denovian” forces. “We’ve been talking about that for about five years. But really seeing it and seeing the way Zelenskyy has been incredibly powerful. ... This is a world war that the actual world can see and watch in real time. ” At the center, the commander, Brig. Gen. Curt Taylor, and his staff have ripped pages out of the Russian playbook to ensure that U.S. soldiers are ready to fight and win against a sophisticated near-peer enemy. It’s a common tool. For example, his base and the Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana both shifted to counterinsurgency training during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. And the military services have focused other training on how to fight in cold weather — mimicking conditions in Russia or North Korea. But these latest changes have happened quickly in the early months after Russia invaded Ukraine. About 4,500 soldiers from 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas, are out in the vast desert training area at Fort Irwin, where they will spend two weeks fighting the NTC’s resident 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, which acts as the enemy military. Soldiers from the regiment — known as Blackhorse — are arrayed in and around Ujen, which also includes role-players acting as the locals. As the sun was rising earlier this past week, Army Col. Ian Palmer, the brigade commander, stood on Crash Hill, on the outskirts of the town, preparing his soldiers to launch an attack. Lines of tanks spread out in the distance. Heavy winds the night before hampered his progress, so the attack was a bit behind. He said the exercise is using more drones by the friendly and enemy forces, both for surveillance and attacks. So his forces are trying to use camouflage and tuck into the terrain to stay out of sight. “You know if you can be seen, you can be shot, where ever you are,” he said. Down in the makeshift town, the opposition forces are confident they can hold off Palmer’s brigade despite the size difference. The Denovians only have about 1,350 forces, but they are throwing everything they have at the brigade, from jamming and other electronic warfare to insurgency attacks and propaganda. The role-players have their phones ready to film and post quickly to social media. The Denovian forces want to portray the unit in the worst possible light, said Taylor, and constantly twist the narrative on social media so Palmer’s troops realize they are in a battle for the truth. That’s a challenge, he said, because “when I’ve got a bunch of casualties and I’m getting overrun on my left flank and my supply trains aren’t where they need to be and I can’t find the bulldozers, it’s hard to think about something that someone said about me on Twitter.” The training goal, said Taylor, is teaching the brigades that come in how to fuse all elements of their combat power into a coordinated assault. “Everyone can play an instrument, but it’s about making music — bringing it all together in a synchronized fashion. And what you saw today was the artillery was doing the artillery thing, the aviation was doing the aviation thing and the maneuver guys were doing the maneuver thing. But part of the delay in their assault on the town was they couldn’t synchronize those three,” he said. Again, they can look to Ukraine to see how Russia failed to do that in the early weeks of the war. U.S. leaders repeatedly noted that in Russia’s initial multipronged assault in Ukraine, commanders consistently failed to provide the airstrikes and support their ground troops needed to move into key cities such as Kyiv. That failure led to Russian troops bombing the cities from the outskirts, hitting hospitals, apartment buildings and other structures, and killing civilians. So when the next brigade arrives as the training center, Taylor said it will face an enemy on board with doing just that. “We will be very focused on how to fight against an adversary that is willing to destroy infrastructure because that’s how we think our adversaries will fight,” Taylor said. “We’ve got to be prepared for urban combat where we have an adversary that is indiscriminately firing artillery.” Wormuth, the Army secretary, said seeing the training also underscored other lessons the U.S. is taking from the war in Ukraine. “As we’re watching what’s happening to the Russians now, it’s informative for us to think about what is right, from a modernization standpoint,” she said, noting that some U.S. tanks are very heavy and the terrain in Europe is muddier, not like the hard-packed sand of the desert. The Army, she said, has to determine “what’s the right balance between the mobility of a tank, the survivability of a tank and the lethality of a tank? If you want to make it more mobile, you make it lighter, but that makes it less survivable. And so you have to decide where you’re going to take risks.” https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-war-us-army-training-54e76eba46f9bf79542dd3f872456e67 |
Sharp guy. Though they're not any better. The difference is just the name |
shinealight:Some things aren't said on the social media but if the intention isn't to dent anyone's image, it's fine and those who would doubt, let them doubt afterall here's not a ground for any form of debate. I'm sure you must have Googled Tinubu and Eko discos name as many of you do before making a comment on Nairaland. You'd never find Tinubu's name on Eko Distribution list because he's a politician and he knows how to play it well to avoid litigation. There are people fronting for him just like dangote and adenuga are doing to some politicians. There's nothing bad about that. Tunji Olowolafe is the one doing all that for Tinubu at Eko Distribution, same chairman of LCC. The reason nobody can link Tinubu with any investment is because of this arrangement. You'd never find his name as CEO of any company aside from the one he founded before joining politics. |
lugado:You should have asked me to explain instead of saying i lied. This i know very well even from day one. As Dangote fronts for some of our politicians especially in his cement businesses, so are some people doing same for Tinubu. You'd not see Tinubu's name in Eko Distribution. Do you know Tunji Olowolafe, the same man who's chair of LCC( Lekki Concession Company)? I won't say more than that. If Tinubu's name is on the Eko Distribution list, na wahala be dat, you know. No politician would be so foolish to do that, not even former leader IBB, despite his loads of investments in Telecom and Energy sectors. |
Abdulmumin412:Since that's what the constitution stipulates as amended, they should resign, though it won't favour them, should they resign, especially if they're not sure of picking the ticket because they'd lose both ways. |
Tonylyte:My observation too. May his soul RIP |
Ok. All I know is APC=PDP=APC=PDP. An accused in one party is a Saint in another. If we don't get it right as electorate by booting all of them out of power come 2023, na we sabi. Nigeria has witnessed its worst moments as a country under these to useless parties. Our military institution was hit, no arrest was made. The rail infrastructure they borrowed billions of dollar to build was hit, no arrest was made, Buhari didn't say a word in the media. An international airport was invaded, a plane was stopped from Flying and a passenger was killed, no areast was made. National grid had collapsed for over a month now and Power remains epileptic, nobody is saying anything and we keep enduring. Same people called Obasanjo, Jonathan all manner of names for the instability in the power sector. Now, who would the APC blame for the power plant that had collapsed 3 times in one month with no solution at sight after investing almost tipple of what Obasanjo spent...ghost? Last week, my bank passed a.circular that they'd reduce their working hours due to the cost of operations, that their branches nationwide were running on diesel daily. If we still go ahead and vote these people next year, people like Tinubu who owns one of the Discos, but keeps telling Nigerians that, had the current administration heeded his warnings, that the power grid wouldn't have collapsed...as if he's not in the same APC anymore. That's how they role people. We must shine our eyes else, we remain in same position and the condition would keep getting worse. You'd just wake up one day while struggling and look in the mirror, only to see grey hair all over your head. Then you'd realise you've spent your youthful years under slavery. Time waits for now man/woman and the time.ti act is now. Go get your PVCs ahead of elections . Elections aren't won on Nairaland |
