Inverted hammer, while I agree with your thesis, the fact is, if GEJ had been allowed to increase fuel prices from 65 naira to 140 naira in 2012, we would have been reaping the fruits of more refineries, more investment and more jobs by now.

Instead, Nigerians protests led to GEJ partly emptying our reserves to keep fuel at 97 then 87 naira.

Buhari is doing the same thing.

The truth is, subsidy or underrecovery has to go. In exchange for high prices, we get functional refineries, and with the added bit of privatizing NNPC, we get more investment and jobs, and eventually low petrol prices

Buhari is just a soft president, I trust baba OBJ, he wouldn’t allow such rubbish to happen especially when the said governor is even now in the opposition.

To be honest and candid, Buhari's presidency is lenient with the state governors most especially the opposition party. This is rare during the administration of Obasanjo and Jonathan.

How can elected legislators of the ruling party be prevented from being sworn in by the Governor for more than a year because of the paranoia of impeachment which the governor has no evidence to prove.

Let's call a spade a spade, Obaseki took his luck too far by this act.

My guy, I support him, but I'm as amazed as you are. Oshiomole alone couldn't have taught him these counter moves in 8 years. A lamb has been turned to a lion. I think there are powerful political strategists behind him (Deputy Governor inclusive).
Himself and Oshiomole have been in the wrong from Day 1, but some people try to paint Obaseki black. I just see him as a man trying to survive the political o nslaughts against him, as Nigeria political environment is toxic.

It's a really saddening news and it is high time the government take a punitive measure to make sure these manufacturing companies quit the usage of casual workers as slaves, without providing them protective equipment . The company should be sanctioned for their obvious negligence that culminated into the painful demise of this young man.
