CareerRe: Should I Spend N40m On Harvard Business School Mba Or Just Do Business With It? by eros(m): 5:42pm On Dec 08, 2011
Haribo:
@ OP (or OP's friend) it seems like you're putting the cart before the horse,

Before you start thinking about whether or not to spend your 40mil on HBS or 'do business' with it, how about a few questions?

Have you applied to HBS? Have you been accepted? If you have been accepted then were you offered any financial aid?
Have you done research on scholarships offered by your state of origin or organizations like the NDDC? What about international grants/fellowships? What about financial aid from your current employer? Have you looked into these funding options?

Why do you want an MBA? Why HBS? What do you want to do with your MBA? If you're just looking for a brand name diploma to brag about or you think that a Harvard MBA will open up bank vaults for you then you're better off keeping your 40mil cos you will probably be unable to put an MBA to good use,

These are the questions you should ask yourself. If you know the answers to these questions your choice will be crystal clear and you won't need NL to advise you.

Also, please don't listen to anyone that tells you an ivy league MBA is useless for Nigerians. Do they know what your plans are? No they don't. Be the best you can be. No one knows what the future holds.

Just my 2 kobo. Good luck!!  smiley

I dare say that Fashola is a fo.ol, a retardeen, a moronic puppet and an animal in disguise. A learned fellow as himself should know that it is pure evil to increase tuition from 25,000 to 250,000. My God, and his foolish reason is to attract the rich and maintain the deteriorating infrastructure in the school.

WOW!!! This is daylight robbery by Fashola and his goons.

Madam, stop stressing yourself over this simple issue. Since the PHCN staff cannot get you a metre, simply buy a "CUT OUT" as it is called, buy wire and have a PHCN staff connect your light directly from the pole and problem solved. You get your bills directly from PHCN and you never have to worry about your evil neighbour again.

Car TalkRe: My Personal Solution To Lagos Traffic by eros(m): 4:32pm On Dec 06, 2011
@Jack,

You put my idea into reality. When I was still in Lagos, I was planning on getting a power bike to solve the traffic madness. Fortunately, for me I relocated and it has been a blessing ever since. Lagos traffic believe it or not is a silent killer and it has been proven that Lagosians have a shorter life span, than other urban dwellers in other states. Also, it has been proven that 98% of Lagosians are clinically and mentally mad for a longer period than the supposed "5 minutes madness".

Boss, did u read my initial response on this thread? I doubt so!

For gods sake, u may wish to not give credence to their claim(s) but it's wrong to keep harping on this '29000 is too few' drivel.

The samples are gathered thus:

Based on landlines and cellphone telephone interviews with a nationally representative random sample of xxxx(couple of thousands) Residents/Citizens.

Digits in the phone numbers dialled are generated randomly to reach households with unlisted and listed landline and cellphone numbers. . .

Then as it's done routinely in surveys, results are weighted, or adjusted, to ensure that responses accurately reflect the population's make-up by factors such as age, sex, education and race. In addition, the weighting takes into account patterns of phone use — landline only, cell only and both types — by region/divides.
No more than one time in 20 should chance variations in the sample cause the results to vary by more than plus or minus 3.6 percentage points from the answers that would be obtained if all the residents were polled. . .

Of course there are other potential errors that could mar this exercise(s) but that's a matter for another day. grin

Xcuse me pass jare!
Bros, you should know those that are not learned enough to know what RANDOM SAMPLING means or what sampling technique is all about. When you try to educate people, but they refuse to learn, you simply allow them continue to wallow in the ignorance.

Unfortunately, Nigerians are defend themselves blindly even when they know they are 101% wrong.

LMFAO u never see anything yet

I know of a Nigerian girl that collected 50K from her man and gave it to another dude

to repair his car

Both dudes actually know themselves but dont talk

On that lucky day or would i say unlucky day

they met @ their normal beer parlour back in nigeria and luckily sat on the same table

I dont know where the issue of women started from oohh -- One was saying how faithful his woman was and the other was saying

How helpful his woman was and she even giving him 50K that same day going further to say the actual amount she gave

10 - 200naira notes
50 -- 100naira notes
15--- 1000 naira notes

before adding the name of the girl to crown it up

the first dude fainted

This was 2007, i personally poured him water to revive him  angry angry

Well, I have been on the receiving side of such money at some point. Sweet girl, thought she was in love with me but would screw other dudes get money from them and give it to me to sort myself out. How can such a girl expect me to return the favor, you tell me you love me, but screw other guys to get money to solve your problems and also share part of it with me.

Crazy beings I tell you.

Im so good @ that -

Its really sad!

I still dont know the reason why most of these girls indulge in whatever they are doing

Live a decent life and other girls call you Ode/mugu

Live a whoritic life and they tag it runs

I got talking with an ex of mine recently and shes already sent me this link

http://www.fashionunion.com/womens-clothing/dresses/icat/dresses/

picking 7 out of those dresses on that page - saying i should ensure i get them for her before her birthday next month

That she sure knows how to catch me in bed

This is someone that has a fiancee - someone who has been promised marriage since 2007

to a Wema bank staff till date she isnt married but she wants me getting her dresses all in the name of screwing me for old times sake

I quickly cancelled my return ticket back to africa  tongue tongue

You can imagine my ex, who freely gives it to me whenever am in town, and just when I am about leaving or dropping her off tells me to give her 20k and I am like, am I paying for the sex and she quickly says no now, but I told you am broke. For Pete's sake, if you are broke go tell your father or mother. Thats their responsibility.

@Goldieluks and Freecocoa,

Obviously, you ladies are very decent women and that is why you are on here defending the diginity of the Nigerian woman. Truth be told, how many decent Nigerian girls/women do we have on nairaland? Most of them are out there scheming on how to be on that cruise boat this weekend with sugar daddies who happen to be other women's husband.

Others are out there planning on how to buy BB torch, new shoes, clothes and all the vain things that makes their miserable lives a total junk. You can't even engage these girls in a decent and intellectual conversation like you are doing. They are only interested in taking that D.ICK and getting paid.

HARD TRUTH: A friend of mine once bed 4 girls from supposedly decent homes in one week, with the promise to buy them Blackberry Torch. How do I know this, because I was the supposed account officer who failed to post the money meant for the BB into the girls account. How cheap can a girl be? Opening her pride and glory for a mere cell phone.

Another shocker, I once had a bet with my friend who just came into the country to bed a girl in the neighborhood the first time he spoke to her and he did. Did i forget to add that, she was in a very serious relationship and sadly the boyfriend was made to watch in horror how his angel was flogged really good. I can go on and on, but its not worth it.

I will blame our parents and the girls for this wayward attitude and most especially the crase for material things, which parents should readily provide for their children.

WOW,so you keep getting attracted to the cheating lot huh? I think you need to sit down and check yourself well,so what do you think makes them cheat? if a real survey that won't lie should be carried out on who the bigger cheat is amongst both sexes, who do you think will come out tops?don't lie to yourself.
Nigerian men cheat more than Nigerian women granted. However, do not forget this is Nigeria where polygamy is practised and allowed. Therefore, Nigerian men are allowed to have more than one wife. Although, in a more civilised society having two wives or dating 2 ladies is not allowed. But then, how do you justify a cheating girlfriend, fiancée or wife?

You might be from a very decent background, but take it or leave most Nigerian girls are dogs.

I rest my case.

I beg to disagree madam. Most of the girls I have dated till date always cheated. Most Nigerian girls are cheap and worthless beings, with no respect and pride for themselves. You might be different, but you are just one out of 1,000 Nigerian girls.

Hmmm!!! I think otherwise. A craftsman should know his work and his work should know him. I have got this crazy lunatic of a bricklayer who is presently working for me and I mean the guy is nuts and I almost burst a bottle on his head yesterday for delaying my work and justifying it, but I respect his work and art because he knows his job. He might be an illiterate but can measure from heart and translate it to reality. He is talented and gifted, but been not learned hinders him from achieving greatness.

It is said, whatever is worth doing, should be done very well, so that no man living or yet to be born can replicate your work. So, if the tiler does not know his art/trade he does not deserve the job. Only the best is good enough, no room for apprentice.

is a shame! but some ppl post silly comments here. what u dont know dont say. blackface is a very talented guy. i have worked with him musically in the studio. he's a musical genius. u havent heard the best of blackface. he's got materials that are evergreen. u never took t time to listen to his message, i guess. he sings for a better 9ja. blackface wrote the biggest selling Africa song "African queen" n 2face swindled and made a hit outa it. blackface formed "the plantashun boiz". i can testify that blackface stood beside Faze when the group broke up. blackfaze is a star hunter. he pulled along Kelly Handsome. i am aware of a time when kelly would always crawl at blackface feet. and he was always in blackface's infinity jeep and blackface would drive him to studios. he also formed the "tribunals". a group made up of mallam spicey, razz mic and rock steady. he paid studio time for them and he would also lend a line or 2 to upcomers who would sing their songs to him. he is a hardworker. he is always timely and apologises for late coming. he is a good music arranger. someone who tells you what he wants for his songs and how it should be played. he was the spokesperson for the plantashun boiz. among the trio, he is the only one who speaks english proficiently.
his friends are not real to him. he brought 2face to lagos. they both lived with his uncle. they were fed and had allowance from his uncle. though faze's family got a house in festac, he would also spent nights in blackface's. none of em wud feature him in their hit tracks to boost his career. none wud write songs for him. faze and tuface have long bought a house in festac. (i wonder why he didnt buy). he never signed under a record company. he deals with marketers himself. he is a staunch igbo-smoker and is his crew. that is his destruction. he should have a devoted and talented singer as a girlfriend and not a gold-digger. he shud change his message and sing about what is commercial. since his time, there have been musical revolution in 9ja there4, he needs to remodernize. he shud do collabos with en vogue artists. sometimes, he may think managerial offices if he cant make the hit, he can cash the cash.
he shoulda bought a dup in festac. thats his biggest mistake.
[/b]

You are so correct. One of Blackface problem is "igbo" Almost all Naija artistes smoke igbo, but Blackface is addicted to it. The guy has got talent and Tuface respects him alot for that. But how can you help someone who wants to remain in the ghetto when everybody has moved on to VGC and Lekki.
CelebritiesRe: Blackface Forcefully Ejected From Apartment (Pic) by eros(m): 6:42pm On Dec 05, 2011
They say your friends/company make or mar you. After the split, Blackface hung out with the wrong and worst kind of friends, called the TRIBUNAL in AJEGUNLE. All they did most of the time was smoke indian hemp, drink, club and sleep with prostitutes. Rather than work hard in the studio, he was busy driving the whole of Ajegunle, sleeping with cheap whores because he is Blackface the superstar.

This is one of the reasons his wife left him, apart from losing all the money, the brother lost his mind. He is the most talented amongst the trio, but bad association destroyed him.

Create a program that writes 0xFFFF followed by 0x0000 to the memory location (keep in mind that files are not usually stored contiguously in memory).
