TRUTHTELA:
I'm so upset with these Lekki toll protesters. Mopol, should kick them out there. Is it now that they WAKE UP? All i'm saying is THERE SHOULD BE A GENERAL PROTEST ABOUT GOVT POLICIES IN TOTALITY & A PROTEST THAT WILL LEAD TO REVOLUTION. Is it only the Toll fee, that Lekki residents see as  BAD & UNFAIR Govt policy? everything is wrong with Nigeria. It's a SHAME that their protest is against their immidiate enviroment. Little minds. They should be reminded that Egyptians are still protesting, against what? BAD GOVT. Is that toll fee the only thing they see WRONG in Nigeria? They must pay it.
We will get there. Nigerians are beginning to get out of their comfort zones. Before now everybody is scared to die, don't want to go through the trouble of walking on the streets protesting because we always thought it will amount to nothing.

Now we have seen that when a people raise against their government, they can actually win and kick that evil government out of power. This battle against the toll gate will and must be won, thereafter we will all take on ODECHUKWU

You think so. Just wait and see what happens. There are those of us who love to call the govt. bluff. Afterall, who is govt. bloody animals we elected into power to protect our interests, but have turned against us to exploit, maim and kill.

Way to go guys, but not a very smart move. We should know that Fashola and his goons would resort to violence. So pay them back in their own coin by burning down the tolls very early in the morning or late at night. Kipish

Design Hud:
Frankly speaking non or few Nigerians themselves have a solution to our problem. Taking to the streets won't solve the problem rather will lead to blood bath, we are too advanced to get into such a rumple with our so called leaders.
I want Nigerians to note that most of all so called Nigerian present leaders have nothing to offer. No good policies and no structures feasible in their mind set. they are just after what they'll acquire for their great grand children and the most expensive houses to acquire in Dubai.
It's no use trading words with them, cos they don't even see the sense in all the noise we make. Most of them have sold their heart to the devil, so no matter how embittered you feel, how deep you are hurt by their selfish policies, no matter how many Nigerians die everyday, they don't give a damn.
JONATHAN was not the best for Nigerian, he is just a puppet. He will never and can not fulfill his election promises, so let's get that into our heads.
He was not ready to lead Nigerian when OBJ called upon him. Just that they felt he was the best at that time.

I WANT TO MAKE A POINT
1. Can Good Luck Ebere Jonathan tell Nigerians how much makes from crude oil sales everyday?
2. Can GEJ tell Nigerians that he established a company which intends to export Nigerian coal abroad, which will yield him billions of dollars per month?
3. Can he tell Nigerians How many oil companies he has floated in Saotomi and Ivory coast?
4. Will he swear to Nigerians that he is not aware of the oil rackets his wife is involved in?
To mention but a few.

If Good Luck Ebere Jonathan is a true leader, with what is facing Nigeria now, I expect him to cut his salary and that of his subordinates, traveling expenses and state house expenses. It'll yield Nigeria so much billion to pay for our external debts, but I dare him!. That is patriotism.

My advice is this, whether we like it or not. This selfish set of leader we have will never and will not initiate any policy to better Nigerian masses.
Nigerian should learn to depend on themselves, self independence. Always believe that you 'DO NOT HAVE ANY GOVERNMENT'
We have to help ourselves in diverse way to be self reliant. We should find a way of sourcing drilling crude oil to refine our own petroleum, kerosene and diesel.
If you have idle land, let out to people that can cultivate on it to produce food at little or no cost.
We should learn how to do things ourselves without looking at our so called leaders. By the time they realize that the tax generated is nothing to write home about, they will have no more money to loath, then we'll come back to the drawing board. B'cos I am not expected to pay tax to any government that doesn't care for my walfare. If we don't pay taxes, let's see how government will be run.
I so totally agree with you a 100%.

GEJ: He was used has a camouflage to deceive million of Nigerians who didn't want to see and hear the truth, he was a disappointment in his own state, doing nothing of worth to the common man and was never going to be a surprise as a disappointee.
SE: There was once a time when Eagles were the best thing to happen to almost every Nigerian lives until politricks and criminals decided to yakubued and kaitared the team. We were expecting them to disappoint, so no surprise
PHCN: Let not even go there, perhaps the  then government were thinking that a change of name was going to increase and give us the needed megawatts.
Mobile Networks: Atleast we can can call and receive, send text, and even surf the net (or else u wont be seeing my post). Though i am not saying they shouldn't improve, but atleast they are giving something to the community.
POLICE FORCE: These are the greatest joke since the thought of amalgamation came to Lord Luggard's White Matter. They are a disgrace to the economy, no single milestone of achievement in there history. cry

Well it was always going to be a tight one between PHCN and the POLICE FORCE, i will give it to PHCN, let us begin to rain curses on them,

GEJ told us he is once like us grin See how he treats his fellow Ode-and Mumu people.
The funniest thing about the 2012 budget is, there is nothing like Youth Empowerment in it, or anything to tackle job creation.
The pressy just gave the police and military a full carte-blanche to kill any misbehaving youths with all the weapons the 900billion he allocated will buy. Hmmm, seems like Nigerians are getting the hail of shyt they deserve. Breath in the fresh air you bunch of failures. Come 2015, please vote in PDP again. Hopeless generation.

I couldn't agree less with you. Was lamenting with a friend over the state of Nigeria today and planning the way forward. I think come 2012, more Nigerians will travel out en-mass and relocate to other countries. This country called Nigeria is one big joke and the masses have always been the prey for the evil games GEJ and PDP bigwigs are playing with us.

it peeves me when some nigerians cannot think out of the box and you would find out the people complaining the most are not even yorubas.
the non-yorubas migrate to lagos for better lives and they demand what they dare not say in their states of origin.

people should realize lagos is over-populated. how that state works baffles me. the amenities are seriously overloaded because people won't stop trooping in. ask these people to pay to enjoy better services and they complain - because nobody has asked them to pay in enugu, ebonyi and bayelsa.

if those places are that better, why not relocate back and leave lagos alone?
No need to get worked up, trust me you will wake up one beautiful morning and find your beloved toll gate burnt to ashes. Then all these ranting and shouting will be over.

Problem solved.

PoliticsRe: Residents Warn Against Uncontrollable Chaos Over Lekki Tolling - SaharaReporters by eros(m): 7:57pm On Dec 12, 2011
coogar:
you have made several senseless remarks heavy enough to sink the titanic. the lekki tolling is a very correct decision.
the problem with you and most nigerians is the fact that everyone wants to live in lagos by force even when their income does not fit in. if you want to use the lekki road, pay for the lekki road and the state government shall maintain that road until they can think about building an alternative route.

that to me is logical. for the ones whose finances would collapse because of the tolling. they should move out of lekki to go n stay in the suburbs.
with that, the pressure on the road would lessen and the government would have much less to do maintaining the road.
everyone cannot stay in lekki.

what useless tax do lagosians pay? abeg. . . . .don't even go down that route. nigerians don't pay any tax at all with their devious schemes and tricks they use to defraud their own government. i make 100,000 naira a month and my tax is 20,000. this looks pretty on the eye and the general idea is that the state government keeps the 20,000 but the reality in nigeria is i have created 5 ghost workers to recoup that tax in four folds back from the state government.

in other words, it's now the government paying me tax, not the other way round.
if i were fashola, i would put a toll-plaza on every road in the lagos island environ.
lagosians want to enjoy good roads like the other developed cities in the world - then let them pay through their noses for such luxury!

it is enough. . . . . .he should mount 5.
3 won't produce the cash to construct another alternative route in time.
do nigerians pay "road tax"? are there congested charge area on some lagos roads?

fashola is too nice for lagosians.
Oh boy!!! You have completely lost it. So a mere road is a luxury  huh huh huh It is my right and every Nigerians right to ply on good roads without paying toll for it.

Men, some Nigerians really need psychological help. I can't even argue with you because you just fall my hand by that statement.
PoliticsRe: Residents Warn Against Uncontrollable Chaos Over Lekki Tolling - SaharaReporters by eros(m): 7:48pm On Dec 12, 2011
Kobojunkie:
Isn't the obvious solution, which really could have solved this since 2009, be that the Government hold off on tolling the expressway, until it is sure it has adequately created alternative routes in the area. I mean that has been the suggestion from the beginning . . . a common sense solution if you ask me. But Somehow the administration continues to resist this, it seems.
They continue to resist that solution because of what they stand to gain. These people make their money by the numbers. Can you imagine how many motorists ply that road on a daily basis? Then calculate how much will be made per day, then per month and per year. It definitely will run into billions of naira.

So tell me, why would the State Government create alternative routes when they know Lagosians will rather ply such routes than pay 360 Naira everyday on the damn road.
PoliticsRe: Residents Warn Against Uncontrollable Chaos Over Lekki Tolling - SaharaReporters by eros(m): 7:41pm On Dec 12, 2011
Kobojunkie:
What the heck kind of solution is that? ROFLMAO!!!

We argued this some time ago, and one of the Fashola thugs posted information on a highway here in the city that I live in as evidence for why Lekki expressway should now be tolled. Problem is he forgot to mention the many alternative routes that exist for those travelling out of the city, to neighboring towns or states.
I am a man who hates to dwell on problems. I did rather work on the solution and Nigeria needs alot of solution minded people and not people who always delight in discussing the problems and then cursing and swearing at each other at the end of the day without any solutions proffered.

Has anybody proffered any other better solution? I don't think so.

So why not burn the damn tolls, that seems like a reasonable thing to do and this problem will be solved once and for all
PoliticsRe: Residents Warn Against Uncontrollable Chaos Over Lekki Tolling - SaharaReporters by eros(m): 7:32pm On Dec 12, 2011
This is the problem with Nigeria and Nigerians we talk too much and do nothing. The Lekki tolling is unacceptable and a problem to Lekki, Epe and other residents.

SOLUTION: Gets some able bodied men and burn down the damn tolls.  angry angry angry angry Problem solved.

And Fashola can lick my back side, along with his thieving advisers seeking to milk Lagosians dry.

afam4eva:
You're right. Someone should make a stand but not against boko-haram but the federal government. They're the one responsible for all that's happening throughout the country courtesy so many years of mismanagement. Bokoharam is just an off-shoot of of this misrule. So, my best bet is that we(OPC, MEND, MASSOB etc) tackle the government and every other thing will be put in place.
BUT SADLY, WHO WILL LEAD huh huh
PoliticsRe: OPC's Anti-Boko Haram Protest Are Unnecessary – Northern Youths by eros(m): 7:21pm On Dec 12, 2011
afam4eva:
I will give it to them when they put a pullet through your skull. When they go on rampage it's everybody that will suffer. Are you thinking that northerners in Lagos will sit tight to be slaughtered? Your guess is as good as mine. Lagos will be on fire. South-west will be in turmoil. he who has ear, let him hear.  Nuff said.
Now I get your point. I was in Surulere when the OPC and Hausa fight broke out in Idi-Araba and it was not funny. Alot of lives were lost, friends and families where displaced. But someone has got to make a stand against Boko Haram since the Federal Govt., Police and Army has failed Nigerians.

Its a thing of choosing between the lesser evil and I will go with the OPC unleashing mayhem on the Northerners, than the non-chalant attitude of our retardeen of a President.
PoliticsRe: OPC's Anti-Boko Haram Protest Are Unnecessary – Northern Youths by eros(m): 7:16pm On Dec 12, 2011
afam4eva:
What's the job of the police and the military? We know they've been relatively incompetent but can OPC do a better job? What i see OPC doing in the event of an attack on the SW is to go about unleashing terror on innocent northerners. Do you want that to happen?

Everything that's happening in this country is as a result of many years of useless rulership. OPC and the other groups should channel their energy in challenging the government to do what is right instead of engaging in a myopic banter with a terrorist group.
I know you know better, but just want to argue for the sake of it. You obviously live in Lagos and know how Nigeria operates. Are you waiting for Jonathan, the police and military to protect you from those crazy boys robbing people all because of Christmas or is your house fenced and gated? Does your car have a car tracker or security device installed in it to protect it from been stolen and if stolen recovered?

Why don't you allow the police and military protect your property, rather than spend thousands of your hard earned money to protect it. Why do you have a generator or inverter to generate your own power when it should be the job of PHCN.

Bros you know the truth and what is obtainable in Nigeria and it was good arguing with you without hauling insults.

I rest my case.
