The best in the class is the best in the class. There is no "high heavens" in that praise. The problem is when people start saying he must win the Nobel Prize. He must win it 5 times. He must win it without good research assistants. He must win it without a good lab. Or else he is a fraud.

PS: I am not vexed. People can have their opinions no matter how wrong it is. When I was right 2 seasons straight only 2 people accepted that they were wrong. The others conveniently changed the argument to something else. They will do so again.

Once you excel above your peers, you are better than them at that moment since your position is something they want for themselves.

I really don't want to call Pep a fraud but from all indications, he does have lapses and may not be all that. In his first season, when his team was on par or levels below others, he didn't win nothing.

In his second season, after upgrading all the problem positions, he ran away with the league as his team was clearly the best of the lot.

In his 3rd season, it went down to the wire because Liverpool had made significant investment and their team was nearly on par or on par as some others will have it with City.

Fast forward to now, Liverpool have the necessary squad depth to compete and they're running away with the league. I take nothing from City who have done well to win the league in the past 2 seasons however, the critics will always ask if it was down to the excellence of City or lack of competition...

I will only touch this simply because you are not bloviating like some others do.

When a team wins a league with 100 and 98pts it is because of lack of competition. But if Klopp has the same number of points Pep did at this same time in 17/18 it is because he made "significant investments".

Let people read this and see for themselves.

All the people mentioning me are simply wasting their time. A proper celebration should be done when the league is won. That is when any monies owed will be disbursed. Till then, it is the same premature celebrations I had to suffer through for 2 seasons straight.

I have not changed my position on how the league will go. I still have City winning it with at least 2 points ahead of Liverpool. Show me a league table when it becomes mathematically impossible for City to win the league otherwise, revel in the same tomfoolery this thread is known for.

Bournemouth vs City 1-1 90th min Assistant ref puts up the board with 5 mins added time. Bournemouth player fakes a fall and stays there for 2.5 mins before he is stretchered off. Game restarts 93rd min. If Ref ends that game at the 95th min, it will mean there were only 2 mins of added time. The rules are the rules.

The so-called Sterling dive was in the UCL. He did not even dive. He tried to kick the ball, hit the floor and fell. He was even surprised the ref gave a penalty and this was before VAR.
