SmooshCHN: Those refs just turn a blind eye and I don't know why. How do you let a guy get away with grabbing someone's arm and then you reward him with free throws? It doesn't make sense to me. I was so appalled. And he wonders why he is underrated a little. When playoff comes and they stop giving him these calls, he will start talking about fair chance. |

The goal against Arsenal, the ball was still rolling. VAR did not review it. The NBC Sports analyst have said since the Ref let play continue there was no need to review.

Do you remember See the magic Poch is doing without money, imagine if he got money I saw some funny people here using Tottenham's current league standing to judge what Mou was inheriting. But when it is Pep, it is because Rijkaard or Pelle did a bad job -as to them, the squad should have won sextuple or domestic treble. |

SmooshCHN: Someone will just sit on his couch in Zamfara and say Curry who we all saw fell and landed on his hand, still has to get a second surgery on his broken hand, is faking an injury. Same set of people will argue and tell you LeBron who was throwing self alley oops in the finals legit broke his hand in the locker room (Unfortunately, no one saw it). Dude was dunking, making highlight passes with a broken hand. Did we get any update on that hand after the finals? I don't think so. Klay Thompson probably faked a torn ACL too. He couldn't take another finals loss. Nonsense Why do you think they want to troll for stupid things? Because they know it won't last. This is a team with cumulative salary of the starters that is less than every other team in the NBA. Someone wants to troll but gave all the excuses in the world when their man was playing with top 4 drafts in all departments. |

My own is you're merely hoping and praying at this stage that Liverpool would slump.
As per your age, take it to the bank man, na Nairaland be this Who is referring to age? lol. I am not hoping for Liverpool to slump. I know they will. I already said Manchester City will win the league and that at the Etihad City will also beat Liverpool. |

SkimpleD: I think so. From the first minute, Klopp’s fullbacks had already started with long balls to the attackers in a bid to by pass City’s midfield and it worked well resulting in two quick goals. Even the third goal was also a cross into the City defence. Klopps’ aim was to score as many goals as possible before City gained control of the match.
Only Sterling I think had much of the ball and he was well isolated from the rest of the attackers too. Let’s not forget that Firmino and Manè missed some begging chances also.
Let’s let it slide though. Pep is a brilliant manager, I just feel he needs to tweak and be flexible sometimes with his tactics to see through difficult matches. LOL You are analyzing from final score back to the game. That is already flawed. First goal was from long range. ZERO tactics. The only tactical thing Liverpool deployed was to use destroyers in midfield to press City midfield and win the ball upfront. In other words, capitalize on mistake. Then plan 2: use long balls not just to bypass the midfield but to minimize the odds of making their own mistakes in their own half. Were they winning the ball in midfield? No. That is why they were pegged back in their half. Because City were breaking through the press which was causing LFC to use the low block and triple team the wingers Raheem and Bernardo. Like I said before, Aguero and Walker had great heading chances but were not as clinical as Salah and Mane. That is why I have maintained that they were simply clinical, LFC. Not that Pep's tactics failed. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Eruditor: 12:07am On Nov 12, 2019 |
SkimpleD: I agree a coach needs to set up his system to maximize players talents. EV’s tactical onus cannot be compared to Pep’s.
I think you are becoming emotional too. I never undermined Peps brilliance. My stance has been that Pep is rigid; sets up his team in a particular fashion and when things go south, would require an individual brilliance to see it through. lol. Every manager does that. Only difference is Pep's style more often than EVERY OTHER MANAGER's does NOT rely on moments of individual brilliance for his team to be bailed out. They beat Tottenham 4-3 and beat Monaco 5-3. If VAR was being rightly used, then City should have lost 2-1 to LFC first leg and then led 2-0 second leg before half time. So, if the individual talented players are marked all through and Peps tactics fail to work, how would he see off teams that matches his team toe to toe? I don't know the game where his talented players were marked all through especially when you look at the stats of the game. Do you think Klopp set up for City to have all that possession, corners etc? |

obainojazz: [s]Pep coached a Barça team that was the best in four years with players that could walk into any team but he delivered only two CL in four years.. Should have been one, thanks to ovrebo the Barça ref.[/s]
Zidane's team was the best in Europe and he delivered 3 CL to show for it.. No luck needed.. [s]When fergie's team was up there with other European teams.. He delivered CL. [/s]
[s]Mourinho's Porto and inter Millan were not the best then, I'm not even sure they were top five but he delivered CL.. It's a simple stuff..
Pep coached a Bayern team that won CL the previous season and I'll say they were the number one or two team the next three seasons but he turned them to Norwich city whenever they faced ororo or Messi.[/s] So what league titles was Zidane winning in those same 3 years? Why was his team not beating Barca in the league if he was delivering? |
