Donlittle:My bad. He is carrying the Rockets with his 100% FG% from legit jumpers and no alley-hoops, dunks or lay-ups. Future HOFer if you ask me. |
birdman:But he has never been a 20/10 guy on any team and may never have another 28/10 game. Why are you guys reaching like Andre Roberson? Yea, he is vicious. Has solid defence and rebounds, yea. Legit jumper? You are reaching man. Spotty jumper at its best and I am sure I may find Javale making a couple jumpers if I looked hard. But here is the point; as far as I have seen him including during the last olympics coming into Houston; Lay-ups from PnRs, Alley-hoops, Free throws have been the source of his points and that's pretty much Javale with GSW. |
A40:Does he create his own shots? Nope. 90%+ of his points, don't they come from FTs and Alley-hoops (at least in Houston)? He rebounds well and passes well for a big and Javale rebounds and blocks more shots. They are pretty much the same in my eye with little variations. |
Milwaukee Sucks. Another average Toronto team going to face Cavs now only to get swept. ![]() |
A40:Nene plays more minutes and has done so for most of his career than Javale. His buckets don't they come from alley-hoops and dunks? Free throws? Is that not what Javale does? You are saying it like he fade's away like Dirk or bullies teams in the paint like Prime Shaq or has sleek footwork and moves like Hakeem. Besides, Harden has played just one 16pt game in this series that ended up in a W for his team. His other games have been 37, 35 and 40 or so and his team lost in his 40 point game. |
A40:Naah fam. Néné is bang average barring the injuries. I am also sure his previous playoffs career high would not be close to the 28/10 he did yesterday. And D'Antoni is great with players that work with his only system. Some may even call him a one-trick pony. Not taking anything away from him but was just pointing out how Anderson and Gordon were not helping Anthony Davis get to the playoffs consistently when they were with the Pelicans but the system under D'Antoni works for them. In the same breath, I expected Billy Donovan to have devised a system to work with the scrubs at his disposal but it appears he settled for the "Give RW and Step out of his way" system. It has backfired in the playoffs because of the adjustments coaches keep making after every game and I think the scrubs are having a hard time knowing what to do with the ball when Russell is resting. Never argued that the OKC roster was stacked - far from it. My argument has been that D'Antoni deployed a system that lifted the performances of his bench but Donovan did not do that at all. We have all agreed that Kanter and Adams were alot better last year especially in the playoffs. Roberson always struggled offensively but his defensive game gets him starts. Mcdermott is a decent 3-point shooter (I might throw a Sabonis in too) &Taj can play under the rim a bit. Oladipo was rated number 48 best player when the season began and in rhythm he can touch a few teams. Not saying they are championship ready but how bad they are when RW is offcourt has to be on the coach. |
Decale:Spurs first need to find a way around this grimy basketball that Grizzlies play. I know they will win it but for now, that series looks like a 7-game one. Rockets vs Spurs on the otherhand will be very close but I give Spurs the upperhand because of better perimeter defending. |
birdman:Make una no dey fear pesin. He did not look in so much pain after game 2. I just hope the complications are not like the alarmist chants some people made here when KD got injured against the Wizards. Someone even suggested he was out till next season. May. GOD. HEAL. STEVE. KERR. IN. JESUS'. NAME. AMEN. |
Decale:I know the players are wack-a-mole but I always felt if Donovan had been designing a system to manage them since the season began they would have been managing leads or playing just ok without RW. They always look confused when RW is not playing and like everyone here I put it on the coach. I have also agreed that Kanter, Adams and Oladipo have underperformed but what plans did Billy envision he would deploy when Russell is taken out of games for 10mins? Nothing. He left low IQ Bballers to manage leads and you people are wondering why they suck so bad. |
Decale:Which shots can Nene create on his own? Nene is a Brazilian Javanese McGee that would have dominated Shaqtin a fool Highlight reels had he not played with Harden. Are you kidding me? And how good has Gordon been? Most of his 3s have come from second chance opportunities which he gets because Capela and co work hard for that rebound which they dish out to their wings to launch more 3s. Gordon's drives to the rim have been nothing short of awkward. What cracks me up is how RWs teammates become bad only when he loses games- abi is it not the same team that won game 3? A different coach creating a system that RW will adopt and adhere to will do a decent job with this crop of scrubs. Mike D'Antoni is no Houdini. We saw him fail with Lakers and the Knicks. Y'all should gimme a break with all that overplayed RWs teammates let him down. They designed a system to give him the ball 99% of the time and then wonder why they fold up when he is rested. Talk about obvious. |
11 points ahead and I thought OKC will secure home court again today. Kinda surprised they lost but then again, they have no system but to give RW the ball and move aside. He definitely needs help, but not the type of help his supporters are clamoring for. He needs an Alpha dog in the team like himself who forces him to make plays that benefit the whole team and on occasion they can alternate them to play with the bench. SmooshCHN said it before the playoffs begun that OKCs method of playing was similar to Bulls in 86 playing against Bird and the Celts. Jordan got his big numbers and was respected by everyone but his team got swept. Hero ball from start to finish does not work in today's NBA. |
Rakitic, silencing the lamb like a shepherd with a duct tape. |

SmooshCHN1:Brother, I was so excited to see the result this morning. Even moreso, considering we were 17 down without Kerr, KD, Barnes and Shaun. Happy with the lads especially McGee. Now we need to close it out on Monday. |
OT I dey go sleep jare. Hope Curry and Klay put up 30+ each and we go 3-0 up. Can't stay awake to watch. Sleep dey catch me. |
aliondo:I am not watching the game, but each time I check live score and expect Spurs to have taken the lead I see Memphis leading. These teams no dey joke these days o. |
Get well Steve, they say you are under the weather. Hope to see you game 4 full of health. We lost every game 3 we played last year, I hope we rectify things this season especially today. |
Raptors figured it out today and stole an away game. Good for them. They may go on to win it now but it will most likely be in 7. Not convinced by any of the teams' ambitions WRT playing the Cavs. |
Al Horford is playing well today. Lopez is still doing his own on the other end but there is more zest from the Celts. Rondo's facilitating-skill is being missed by the bulls who seem to be bereft of ideas to create their offence. Butler. Is. Struggling. |
SmooshCHN1:So funny. ![]() |
Game over. 119-114. Tied for biggest comeback in playoffs history in terms of points deficit. Cavs came back from 26 down. They will sweep this series. Funny enough a hunch made me say a 26 point lead would be insufficient to determine a winner. I expect Spurs to go 3-0 up too so I won't waste my time anymore. 32 years old and Lebron is still a big problem. |
115-111 with 34secs to go. When you want to refer to a star player whose teammates let him down, PG13 and not Westbrook should top that list. |
Cavs win this. Big dagger 3 by Frye. In Pacers defense, PG13 was fouled on a possession but the refs gave an out of bounds call in favor of Cavs. It was big. 114-107 with 54secs to go. |
Another big 3 by LBJ. Cavs lead by 4. 111-107. Myles Turner is a fugazi. |
No surprise: Lance leaves and Pacers find some form of offense again. 104-103 in their favor. Channing Frye and Korver are finishing the meals Lebron keeps feeding them. |
98-96 with just under 7 to play. I still don't see why Lance is still facilitating yet he cannot shoot a fish in a barrel. They need to use the FT line to get into any sort of rhythm because if they lose this game, they would get swept. |
Skywalker5:Hotters. They may get a gentleman's sweep if they are not careful. They needed heroics to win 1 of their homecourt games. Not surprised they are getting spanked today. |
Pacers offence is off. Cleveland keep hitting big 3s after 3s. Lance has done enough and Teague should play point. By done enough I mean he is stinking up the joint. |
