UPDATES!!!
Our older batch will be 5 weeks tomorrow

What is their weight? They look small in the picture

They'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.
Ventilation is excellent. It's a big storage room with 2 windows. I created a cubicle for them at one of the sides so they can be closer to one another and stay warm.
I clean their litter everyday and put wood shavings for them.

Ventilation is no longer good @ 5 weeks. You should move them outdoor (isolate the sick among them), they need fresh air from all the 4 sides and not heat (warm) at that age. I wish them quick recovery.

@todto
These were the medications I got on my last trip to an agro store
The red liquid is virucine.
Despite these medications I lost 5 birds today.

Sorry bro. How old are your birds? How good is their ventilation? Is it close to what you can see from the Op's picture posts? How clean is their litter?

There's charcoal at the side, we just didn't put it in the middle, because of the rubber carpet flooring to avoid it melting and probably causing fire which might in turn lead to a disaster.
We used the carpet flooring ontop of the woodshavings we earlier laid on the floor so as to make for easy monitoring of their faeces and cleaning as we couldn't get old newspapers around the vicinity of our farm for now.

I am just worried about the carbon monoxide (CO) & soot that would be produced by the lantern.
Agriculture / Re: My Poultry Farming Experience! by Escodeb(m): 10:39am On May 06, 2020
Why don't you use charcoal pot instead of lantern?

Very wrong Sir . . . There is a calculations to be used to determine such, those boxes will NOT be able to raise more than 10 birds each, and within 3 weeks you plan to build a shed where the cages will be under
I am sorry to say sir, that for this empowerment, i am NOT sure you yet ready sir, but you have my word sir, that when you are ready, reach our to us and we will be glad to give you any support and help that we can afford to such as:
Connect you with training on some of the basics of poultry
And other stuff that we might be able to offer you
But for now, we will have to go ahead with the other two applications to push along this process

Thanks I will pass, kindly help me edit out my name, email and other personal information from my email you shared. Namaste

How you will market and sell 100 birds?
My target market are the offtakers, frozen food sellers, and those that will buy at 3-4weeks and rear.
At the 3rd week before transferring the birds to the cage, I will sort the birds and sell the ones below expected weight to those who would buy and rear.
Between 6th & 7th week, I have the option of either selling to an offtaker or kill and process the birds and sell to frozen food sellers or both.

How long will you think it will take you?
Between the 6th and 7th week, all would be sold off.

How you plan to make profit in this business and plan for continuity?
The plan is to make profit from the sales and reinvest the capital and profit in the business. The long term plan is to set up a farm using this empowerment as a foundation.

Bros, how do you determine how to many of the birds will be inside each of those cages? You left this out from the questions you were asked and please i need that information
Do you have any experience at all with poultry?
I am asking this sir because i need to know how to to evaluate your applications sir

Bros!!! Mere looking at a cage, one would be able to deduce how many 6 weeks birds it can contain. I used a far smaller cage to raise 10 broilers from 4 weeks old til 12 weeks last year

I have some poultry experience, broilers to be specific.

Oga Fhemmmy,
My point is - was Esco mistakenly cleared before?
If yes I want to appeal that you give him a chance.
I believe nothing happens by chance, everything has a reason and a purpose.
Just noticed the possible mix-up but do not want to be a kill-joy so if you can do something for him please do.
Note that I don't know him or any of the others.
Whatever your decision I say kudos sir.
Welldone

Thanks, God bless you sir.

I can't remember if escodeb has the right pen, except i have made a mistake here sir, wasn't it Escodeb that sent the pictures of the wooden boxes?
I stand to be corrected and Escodeb is free to please voice out if i made mistake here sir and once again, thanks a million for the comment as we will do all possible to find the right person

The "wooden box" has been converted to a cage as promised. The first 3 weeks of the broilers are spent in a brooder and afterwards they would be transfered to a cage till they are 6-7 weeks old.
I could have gotten a picture of a pen and uploaded as mine or promised to build one but that would b dishonest of me. I wish the two guys left goodluck.

I don't think there is something to be worried about, if she want to give in to her ex she wouldn't carry you along.

On what to do? Tell her to tell the ex she is in a serious relationship and he should respect that or else she would cut off communication with the guy (ex)

Note: Don't show your babe any sign you feel threatened by the guy financially.

At my previous apartment, close to my window neighbour do sit there to gist.

I was indoor one morning at a time I wasn't supposed to be home. My neighbours (2 women) were discussing how one man (in the same compound) was asking them out and using the same line. One of them was heavily pregnant, the pregnant said "Shey he want to top wetin my husband don do there ni"

No sir, we plan to test the waters with 100 broilers,
Before going full scale: to layers (for egg production) in conjuction with broiler (for meat production) in an all year round production cycle, because the facility we are building would be capable of containing them both.
We just hope to get it right by the grace of God!

How many plot of land for this capable facility you are building?

So true.

My dad made me believe to be successful, a man must make many sacrifices with his time and time is wealth .

Also if one appreciates the Lil things given . It paves way for greater things in the future.
And so far such phylosophy is working for me so well.
And lastly nobody is a f.o.o.l except they decide to place a blind eye to what u r doing ..

I'm glad you are practising what he taught you

I think it because of the moral standard of those you have dated or have something with.

One thing I appreciate about the rich parents is they mostly teach their children the importance of being appreciative to whatever help rendered to them and whatever is given to them.

Romance / Re: Is It Good To Borrow Money To Marry A Wife? by Escodeb(m): 2:41am On Apr 18, 2020
It is not good. Wedding is a ceremony and not an investment where you will recoup whatever you are spending on the party.

It doesn't make any financial and economic sense to borrow money for a party just to feed people mostly strangers.
