PrettyIfy7: Foolish deflective idiot. History is bigger than schools you clown. You can always pick up a book except you are hell bent on believing the revised and jaundiced nonsense you were told growing up. Nairaland is not your village square where you gather to lie to yourselves because you want to keep others in accusation while absolving yourselves of any wrong doing. We know that strategy. Throwing darts from the dark only to cry victimisation in the open. Hatred and bitterness inspired your original post but as the cretinous inanimate brained phony that you are I don't expect you to admit that. When you point a finger, others point back at you. Tell me about the performance of your favourite candidates when they held office at various capacities and I will show you how much of a failure they were but you are too surface minded and gullible to believe there is a magic wand somewhere that they will use in solving Nigeria's problems overnight? Blast yourself into oblivion you simpleton. |

PrettyIfy7: Look at this insipid plonker! You think you are a legitimate child? Before they became your mummy and daddy they were sister and brother. Unfortunate unrated inbred with a sad life. Ask your fathers what they supported in 1979 but don't stop there. Ask them why they repeated the same imbecility in 1983 then you will know why it is a tragedy to share a country with your type. Lousy ignorant unsound airhead who's mind is programmed to believe the most idiotic of superstitions. |

MzansiCoolio:They played together for donkey years in the same team. At the end of the day Bafana Bafana could not defeat a bunch of travellers who barely had a week of training together. Since beating you has become a norm, we will no longer have to train before playing you. |

PrettyIfy7:Spoken like the half-witted slowpoke that you are. If the VP had been there earlier we know the imbecility that would have proceeded from that dull miniscule thing you call a brain. I'm sure you were waiting for that defeat so you can gloat out your sad miserable guts but you were disgraced. Shame on you. |

Geovanni412: Zaidu was injured. Now many who criticized him can see how reliable he actually is to that defence. Calvin Bassey did not get much cover and the South Africans tried to use that side as most of their best chances came from that side of the pitch. We did not play our usual game that got us into the Semi Finals. We played a different game. And how are sure are you that Cote d'Ivoire will beat Dr Congo? |

AkinPhysicist:This is the most serious Super Eagles team I have seen. I am not talking about skills and technique. I am talking about being 💯 business minded till referee calls. This is not the "traditional" Super Eagles who are VERY good but still lose either as a r esult of momentary loss of concentration or being too casual, playing "sexy" football. These ones no dey free for anybody till match end. Zutulu is indirectly telling you it is no longer in his hands. 1 Like 2 Shares |

AkinPhysicist:Something funny happened at the Grammy's last night. "Water" by Tyla from South Africa won the best African performance over Nigerian acts. As she walked towards the podium, instead of her own song, it was FELA'S "water no get enemy" that was being played to the hearing of the entire world. Now you know who the champion 🏆 is. 🇳🇬 2 Likes 1 Share |

AkinPhysicist:You remind me of a guy on Facebook who got 7 out 8 predictions of the round of 16 matches. The guy further predicted that Cape Verde would defeat Nigeria in the semis while Guinea would defeat Cape Verde in the final. Both Cape Verde and Guinea did not survive the round of 8. As matter of fact, the moment I read that Cape Verde would defeat Nigeria in the semis, I heightened my Spirit man into programming defeats for both Cape Verde and Guinea in their next matches. Guinea played a better game than Dr Congo. Cape Verde had a far superior game over South Africa. At the end of the day they both lost. Not a coincidence. Verily Verily I say unto you, the SUPER EAGLES of NIGERIA have a date with destiny that won't be altered. The Stars have it in their alphabets. The crown 👑 belongs to the Green White Green. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

It is extremely retarded that some Nigerians believe this Cape Verdi team would have caused our Super Eagles problems. A team with no cutting edge. Dominating possession without anything tangible coming out of it. With the way the Super Eagles are set up in this tourney, they would have easily picked this Cape Verdi team apart. They would have no space to pass around and make inner runs against our well organized and resolute defense. They would have been brutally exposed to the counter attacking prowess of the Super Eagles because defensively they were not very solid. People just love to hop on bandwagons to sound like they are in the know when they don't. Mauretania ought to have knocked them out if not for their lack of confidence in the final third. 8 Likes |

Heart break for Mauretania. The game was there to be taken. They had more space in the Cape Verdi defense to create something but their attackers were not coordinated enough with that crucial miss being the height of it. Nice game Cape Verde. Beautiful passages of play and possession. A less resolute team would have lost by more than one goal to them today. 1 Like |

Kinzo0917:The Mauretanians are smart. Cape Verde would have to add a little speed to their build up play to break them because those guys(Mauretanians) are very quick at reading and recovery. |

As usual. The herd minded one dimensional thinking slow heads are out in their droves spilling their half witted guts. Have we had a Nigerian referee caught fixing or throwing a match in any of the CAF organised competitions? All those years Nigerian officials were active in the Afcon, how many poor and controversial officiating was ascribed to them? It is one thing to be angry that the country is facing challenges but that is not enough to lose all sense of reason and rationality. I have seen atrocious officiating many times in several Afcons past and the officials were not Nigerians. Not even one. Stupid talk everywhere. |
Sports / Re: AFCON 2023 Group Stage Best X1; CAF Snubs Super Eagles Stars by Esinwaju: 2:12pm On Jan 26 |
Na group stage 11 we go chop? The Super Eagles had the best performances at the group stage in Afcon 2021. The entire team was almost eligible to make the best 11 group stage but we all know how it ended. Elimination at the very beginning of knockout rounds. We no even play two matches. It is better we grow into the tournament than fly high at the beginning only to be brought down with just one shot. 23 Likes 1 Share |

I like this. Buhari got a lot of negative tags for praising the Super Eagles before crucial matches only for them to lose. Tinubu is doing otherwise. The Super Eagles have a date with destiny. 1 Like |

Demurray:Did you see the goal we conceded against Eq-guinea? Have you seen that sort of defensive lapse again in the last two games after that? Can you compare the number of chances we created against Cote d'Ivoire to that of Guinea-Bissau? Nigeria is growing into the tournament but you aren't seeing it which is normal. This is not the style of football Nigerians are accustomed to when it comes to the Super Eagles but we must be pragmatic. The Super Eagles are a counter-attacking team for now. |

WantsandMore:It is better to grow into a tournament than to start off flying only to be shot down when unexpected. Prior to the tournament, the hope was on our attack. Now that we are into the tournament proper, our defenders have been the star boys. So far at least. Crazy turn around for real. 1 Like |

Demurray:Super Eagles were ranked the best performing team after the group stages in the last Afcon. What happened after that? It's not about who you have beaten, it's about how well you grow into the tournament. 1 Like |
