Plain and simple. The reason most times for many of these men who will provide excuses from today till kingdom's come is the fear of failure. Many of them think themselves brave or courageous, but deep down they are sissies who are scared of failing (or even studying at all) for IELTS. They don't want to be embarassed in front of their wives. Some are even worse in that they forsee their wives getting a high IELTS score and they fear they will test way below their wives. And are therefore scared of the consequences this will bring. Or disrespect. So they drag their feet regarding writing. Or they don't even want to write at all and tell their wives to do everything that they will accompany jeje. Weak hearted men who can't rally their family to achieve an objective. They feel so comfortable in that 6-figure job they have managed to get and do not want to aspire for more because they know they can't measure up to what is in demand in the global world. I have no respect for such men.

Your postulation is unfounded and deeply biased. Drawing emotional conclusions is prejudiced. It all boils down to individuals, current and present state of things. Some persons made decision not to migrate years ago and regretting it now and while some made that same decision but has zero regret now. Some persons economy state dwindled in the last decade while others are strengthening even in these hard times in our country. Your angle 'may' be a factor but not so nailed to the wall.

6 figure job; I don't really understand what you mean by a man does not want more because he's earning 6 figure and he's afaid of failing globally etc.. Madam is it easy to get a 6 figure job in one homes' country? What more could one desire more in his/her job than to be earning 6 figures in his or her country of Residence? If not for our failed Government system am not sure an individual earning 6 figure would just migrate without a very very big fish in the catch. An average Saudi citizen don't leave KSA, neither would an Oman citizen just want to migrate, Why? Their government finish work.

Again, not everyone sees migrating abroad as a way out of economic downturn, career advancement etc

You don't need PCC for Dubai since you didn't spend up to 90days there. You would need PCC for China

Tell him to get his ego off the floor. All he needs for IELTS is Level 4. As for ECA, if he has a degree, at worse, they'll downgrade it to an OND, still post secondary diploma.

If he is not spouse then what is he? You don't just refer to people's loved ones in such sarcastic manner in the guise of profering a solution to his or her queries.
Do you know his current plans and perceptions? Do you know if he is already made and well established in his current country of residence? Do you know his reserverrions towards migration? Do you know if the other partner is taking decisions not putting the family first? I could go on and on. Not everyone sees immigration as a means to an end or lean towards kissing all their investments, work project etc goodbye; otherwise most business men, celebrities and politicians would have abandoned naija for long and live permanently else where.
There are plethora of reasons why a spouse would be holding back in such matters and if not properly addressed or settled it could mean the begining of marital stress.
Before swinging swords of judgment let's be very objective especially when it comes to family matters because when family is involved a lot of considerations has to be examined and common ground can be reached putting the family first since both still want to be together.

My IELTS result is finally out and I had LRWS at 8.5, 8.5, 8.5 and 7.5.

My husband scored LRWS at 8.5, 7.5, 7.5 and 7.5.
This was our first try and we didn’t dedicate enough time to studying but glad it worked out.

It’s looking like I’ll be the primary applicant since I’d also have more scores on education because of ACCA versus his ICAN.

Oga/madam you are not the first person to have traveld or living in Canada or any western world. The topic of religion, culture etc has been a subjective matter even before you were concieved or born. Everybody all over the world, thinks differently and have diverse beliefs.
Don't force your beliefs or reasoning on others, stick to your belief or reasoning that works for you and let others be. It is gross insensitivity on your part to be telling down on someone else's belief or religion. While some believe in numbers, rivers, skies, rocks, fire, supernatural God, air, luck etc, does not invalidate others beliefs.
Please practice your thoughts and let others exercise their thoughts if it's working for them.
Be very careful on how you interfer in people's religion or belief because if you were to be some of us living in the core middle east here, and you make such blatant remarks, God help you... Just a word of advise.

Food is about some of the cheapest things you can buy in Canada. I know that because I've lived in many cities. Even if you don't work and are living on your POF, you don't need more than $50 to shop for food for the week and you can make enough food to last two weeks. The problem with our Nigerian brothers and sisters is that when they want to eat Indomie, they want to eat indomie from Nigeria which is available at exorbitant prices at African store. Sometimes its price is more than 5x the regular indomie you can buy at walmart. How that is any special than that regular indomie, I don't know. Same thing with chicken. Chicken o! They want to eat the chicken from African store. When will they learn that it is not sustainable to continue to subsist on the kind of food you were eating in Nigeria? If you are in Rome, you behave like the Romans.
So, why won't their money finish quickly?

The brighter point is that many of them eventually pivot to Canadian brands, but not after wasting away their money on Nigerian indomie. It typically takes them about 6-8 months or so before they start seeing it is unsustainable to be craving Nigerian indomie. For some, it takes years. Years of wasting away hard-earned dollars. And when they finally move to way cheaper chinese indomie, they see there is not even that much difference. You can replace indomie with whatever you want. But why does it have to take that late to figure things out and spend more wisely in a new environment? There is a reason the whole Canada is not shopping at African store.

let's not excuse ma.d behaviour. Survival is often dependent on how you adjust fast. Thinking you are still privileged and wanting to live the Nigerian life when you are in Canada is one of the worst things that can happen to you. There is no reason that should be encouraged.

You will advise people wrongly and make them bite their finger when they finally land. Your argument is not robust.
It's a basic rule of thumb when settling in another country for the first time, take much food stuffs with you to mitigate bills and sustainance for a while until one finds strong footing.

You're meant to send separately, we got 2 separate information letters requesting passport and one of them was from the IRCC office in spouse's COR, while the other letter was from my primary VO. If your addresses are updated in your application I think they should have taken that into account.

Very correct and by default it ought to be so. But some times Most persons have experienced VOs sent just only one letter maybe it's an oversight error or ??.... But they usually notify the VO and then another mail is being sent so that the dependant can send his/her passport to the nearest VO present location. If the latter is the case of our commrade then she has to explore one of the option I earlier stated. Most indian guys had similar issues

You have two options
1. You can courier your passport to the primary's applicants location so he can send both together to the nearest VFS office. Some did it this way.

2. The primary applicant can send email to his VO and notify them of the difference in location regarding passport submission. Usually within few days his VO will send another PPR mail so that his partner can send her passport to her nearest VFS location separately. Many has done it this way it worked perfectly too.

I see a lot of good advice but I think we are forgetting the angle that if you declare the passport missing and try to get a new COPR. The correspondence will still go to him and he can still suppress it. Also, the birth of your child before you land will seriously complicate your issues further. Therefore, I believe the best approach will be to get the passport from him and land.

I will advise that you get someone (more like a professional) to contact him and lay the risks of his actions to him so it will scare him to release your documents. And I don't care about his side of this story. This in itself is abuse and you shouldn't preclude yourself from any action because it is too harsh for him. You and your baby are the most paramount to you and should be all you are concerned about at this time.

Rather than wickedness, it's unguarded anger, irrational act and selfish attitude. 80% of men think alike when it comes to their Ego. An average man would do anything when it comes to power tustle in marriages; same mechanism that allows an average man to put himself in danger just to protect his wife/kids or family. Although no one has heard his own side of the story but his actions negates his reasons.
I will say this for free, her husband didn't go to Canada with her travell documents. Am very positive that he left those documents in the care of a trusted ally which his wife is oblivious of. If proper steps are taken it would be like a miracle when he will just instruct someone to handover those documents to her here in naija and may even book her flight ticket. That is if she has not pressed too much control + spoil

@bolded is already what he is doing because if/when baby comes, they'll have to start process of sponsoring baby (is this even a thing? eyes rolling) at this point as wife already has PR considering he has already landed.

Oga/madam, the lady is not saying all there is to be said and there are more to this. For a man to go this extent then this matter shouldn't be approached one sided. Did he do the right thing? Absolutely Not.
But one thing is for sure, reporting him to ircc or breathing fire won't help this issue at all.

First there is no strong proof that he really took the passport and copr and even if matters where to be taken to the next level, he can adequately defend his claims.
I will say this to the OP from lots of experience from marital war like this; I don't know your religion but first ask your God for help.
Secondly pls dissapoint his expectations by disobeying the law of equall and opposite reaction; he expects you to make a mountain out of this with family, him etc. Instead, show him what he saw in you that made your marriage possible in the first place, though it will be very hard at this moment, but try. You would be amazed what feeding his man Ego would do and may even fix your almost broken marriage. Some person do some silly things out of anger but with the right attitude they might even be the one come crawling back to you.

I feel it should be anyone below 470. Since bill C-19 will be effected first quarter next year then it means there won't be any surprising changes much in the manner in which draws are being conducted. If IRCC steadily increases the number of ITAs going forward with regular draws, then CRS scores would definitely drop below 475 before December.

you probably have to read the post. You need to stop this scaremongering. They are not changing the entire express entry, they are only adding that to it. They are only giving the minister the ability to invite people based on groupings - a power he did not have before - which, for instance, he needed during Covid but was unable to. The fact that they are doing that doesn’t mean they are cancelling the current process. You really need to educate yourself on this topic or maybe watch the house session on the bill. There’s a version on YouTube. Or you could read it on @NaijaCanadianBro_ page on Ig. It’s not deep, yo!

On the contrary you are the one that needs to be enlightened on the new proposed bill. When it comes into law, which part of fsw draws won't be based on high CRS anymore don't you understand ? Or you think it's bobo?

The only tranperent side about it is that at the start of every year, the Nocs in demand will be listed on ircc website and other criteria; at least that's the clause to it for now. Educate yourself more on the proposed bill my freind.

It's deep my dear. The zenith of it all is this; Getting ITAs in the pool will not be solely based on high CRS score anymore, but on criteria that the minister outlines such as Noc, region. In other words, it will be like PNP but conducted by Federal.
The real truth is, when it's finally passed into law, the changes will favour some persons and some will be bitten by it. Normal odds of life.

PNP nominees will get more ITAs than FSW/express entry candidates this Year and beyond, that's the direction express entry is speedily moving towards, FSW draws will now be modelled like PNP occupations in Demand draws.,no longer based on your high scores.
I Know couple of guys who have gotten ITAs this year through the PNP route with less than 370 CRS score because of their occupations which are critical in demand in these provinces.
It is inevitable.
Several FSW draws will now be program specific, when the bill is passed this month and no longer based on high CRS score when the Draws resume in July.
It will be bad market for IELTS, as people will bo longer be worried about retaking IELTS countless time in order to max out their CRS score.

This is very bad for ITAs hopefuls. Since different provinces are sending out PNPs due to their job demands, they would have just left the FSW to take its original course. As painful as it is to say, I would suggest ITAs hopefuls like myself to start gearing up for plan B's, especially if your NOC may not be in demand

The change of NOC is not even the main Koko..
The main one is the newly proposed C-19 bill. From what I understood about the bill; it will give the minister authority to pick some certain NOCs due to the job demands in Canada. It then means most draws will not depend oh how high one CRS is, but if your chooseen Noc is in demand. In my own eyes, FSW may then become like PNP with lots of uncertainty. In further details, when the bill is passed and gone active there is a clause that at the begining of each year, the Nocs that's to be invited will be listed out.
I just hope and pray this doesn't mess up the chances of many ITAs hopefuls especially next year

Even if I write TEF and pass very well, I'd be on 506 Since they said the scores would remain high for 6 months, I suspect these people will start from 530 and by the end of 6 months, they'd stop at 510.

Let me start saving money for UK. Its just sad, I feel I just wasted 2 years pursuing fsw.

Well it's a hard time for us all already in the pool waiting for ITAs. A plan B at this point wouldn't hurt at all. But let's not also be totally dismayed because this internal memo was a proposal and we don't know as of now, if it was rejected or approved. So all hope is not lost yet.
Regarding CRS of above 500, my take is that, Yes, definitely the score would be above 500 when they finally decide to resume all programme draws. But the flactuation of the scores would be based on the CRS distribution table. With the current distribution of the table, four consecutive all programme draws With 4000 candidates invited, may crash the cut of to 478 range. Except they choose to be inviting 500-1000 candidates in each draw. That way the cut offs will remain high for months.
Well for now the dream is shaking, but let's still have a little faith.
