Profgordons: Your Nigeria license is what is being asked On the contrary it's Ontario licence that's on the list. Persons have submitted without their Nigeria licence and successfully gotten Nominations without ADR to that effect. |

ednut1: its not hatred . Seems like they saw through your real intention which may be show off. 🤣🤣. You wrote ielts without knowing scores required or simulating . 🤥🤥 I am surprised you are suscribing to the idea or bully attitud of those two guys. You people didn't read through his/her question? In which case, if one doesn't have the appropriate answer to the post, best to move on rather than dropping snare corrosive remarks. |

fisolaire: Thank you to Jesus and thank you to everyone who has helped in one way or the other on this platform.
I can remember I started this journey with little or no knowledge but gained a lot here. Even got an agent but could not afford the fees, lol, hence I had to resort to Nairaland. Small advice to everyone here, Page 1 is a great resource, believe and you can pull this through. Please see timelines below:
Profile: Family of 3 First ITA- October 12, 2022 (declined this as we were even lost on things to do) Second ITA: Oct 26 (I had studied Page 1 well and was ready) AOR: Dec 23 (PoF was made up of I and my husband's PFA balance which was over half of the required PoF, I was scared this would not pull through but I got the assurance here that it would. A gift deed from my mum, gift deed template was on NL too and our small £s savings) Also had a detailed letter of explanation to support these. Medicals passed: January 10th BIL: January 10th Biometrics completed: January 16th. RFV: February 16th.
No ADRs, no GUs Thank you all! Congrats. Did you notarize your gift deed? |

Please house am confused about something. Surprisingly few hours ago I got NOI from Ontario. Then I was wondering under which stream. I got on their site and saw the last draw conducted Jan 31st is employers job offer stream. If it's under this stream I got NOI I wonder why they sent me NOI cos I don't have a job offer. Or am I missing something? Please any idea |

nymphomaniac: PNP draw done. Will there be FSW? Sigh It means no Fsw draw today then. Maybe they may conduct one next week in which case it's another step backward because score may go above 490 considering how lots of profiles were added in the range of 500s and above this past two weeks |

nymphomaniac: Will there be a miraculous third back to back draw today? Fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, anyone who has gotten ITA at 490 should please indicate. It's very possible but doubt it will happen. I feel ircc would want to maintain the 5500 ITAs for some months. A draw today would kinda shorten that lifespan. So I think they will still maintain just two draws a month.. Just my takes. |

ednut1: but more wives are primarily applicants due to age , madam 28 , husband 33 . Abeg we are in gender equality era. Make both parties am. Oga nobody is catapaulting gender inequalities. It's just basic reasoning. If you have a family you would know the idea here. If women are the primary applicant then they have to see it through together. And even if the man is the PA , they can still see it through together. So it depends on the family's strenght and weaknesses. |

tshtsh: Because like every society Canada is different from what most of us are used to and has its own difficulties. Some things we take for granted in Nigeria are difficult to get in Canada and vice versa. Thus adjusting to the new environment usually takes time for most people. From the point of view of Nigeria these are some of the issues most people face:
1. Finances. Standard of living in Canada is high thus cost of living is also high. The average Nigerian immigrant to Canada has most likely put in some years of work in Nigeria and elsewhere with savings or an investment such as a home. However, the naira is weak and most people tend to sell off all they’ve worked for before moving to Canada. When they eventually move to Canada m
2. Credit- Canada runs a credit-based economy. Thus without credit it is difficult to buy a car, rent a home and do many other things except you are paying out of pocket. Your credit report and score influence the outcome of many applications you’ll make thus getting a credit card is one of the first things you’ll need to get after the social insurance number. A score of 700 or higher is the threshold most people find comfortable. Unfortunately Canadians tend not to bend their rules or show understanding towards newcomers with lower scores. Thus a soft landing offers one the opportunity to get a credit card and begin to build their credit scores before making the eventual move.
3. Housing- getting a house in Canada (especially Ontario ) is one of the toughest challenges newcomers face. A lot of barriers exist (lack of rental history in Canada, low credit score , lack of job history in Canada , racial discrimination, competitive rental market…). This problem has pushed many families to start out in very tough conditions moving from one air bnb to another and running out of money easily . Some have even had their relationships with friends and family ruined over this. You tell your friend you’ll spend one month in his house and after a month you’re unable to get a house while your friend/host expects you to honour your word by moving out after a month. You find a family of four moving from one basement air bnb to another . I always wondered why the father didn’t move to Canada first before other members of the family . A man can endure these, get a house after a few months before the wife + kids join him.
4. Job market- Not everyone is lucky to land a job within a short time. I got a job before moving to Canada but for some people it takes a while to land a job. Staying in Canada without a job can push people to take up menial jobs or survival jobs which ordinarily they wouldn’t want to. I have seen videos where people preach about survival jobs being an entry point to the Canadian job market. I don’t agree with that narrative. Survival jobs should be the last option . I got a job in my field before even landing in Canada. More and more people have been able to do so as well.
5- Soft landing allows you to have first hand experience of what living in Canada is like and enable you to plan your move better. Thanks Your advice is very valid especially the last point. Not carved in a stone though. It is very logical for a man who is the primary applicant, with family, and no bogus money to keep up with expenses for the uncertain period and also has no support of whatsoever on ground. Especially with kids. It's not just Canada alone but any major move to anywhere. A man can somehow rough it out for some time till major balance which basically accomodation. But when kids and wife is involved, it can mess up ones mind. But if there is enough resources to umbrella whatever comes regardless of the span, by all means whole family can move once; after all many wants to experience that feeling of migrating with a family at once. If the woman is the primary applicant, hehehe no choice, the ship gat to sail at once. I can confidently say that the first instance I cited is where most Nigerians belong to. And if I were to be in that shoe I think I will choose this advice of going ahead before family joins. Kids, women are different, so when you asses the situation, better judgement can be made. |

Timmypaul: I doubt if there will be draw this week. It definitely gonna be next week, with the look of things the draw will still be around 500, going through the pool lots of people are above 500. If Ircc conducts a draw again this month which is very likely with 4700+ invites, score will be below 496. |

Benrichard: Hello house Wes mistakenly stated 18/07/1982 on my spouse evaluation report instead of 18/07/1984, pls how should I go about rectifying this mistakes and what documents do I need to send to wes. Kindly help a brother Thanks Are you sure the date on your report is not the date on your transcripts? WES will use the date on your transcripts to complete your report rather than the one you gave them. But if obviously 18/07/1984 is the DOB on your transcripts then the mistake is from them. Send an email to them detailing their error and they will issue you a new report ASAP. |
