Third Mainland Bridge : Man jumps into Lagos lagoon, dies

A yet-to-be identified man has been confirmed dead by Lagos State Government officials after jumping into the lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.
The man, who was trekking towards Lagos Island end of the bridge, jumped into the lagoon at about 7:30 am, yesterday.
It was learned that his action drew attention of passers-by who raised the alarm and alerted the emergency agencies including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Marine Police and other rescue officials in the state.
An official, who didn’t want his name mentioned, disclosed that he was rescued but while been resuscitated by the paramedics officials deployed to the scene, the man passed on.
The official said: “The emergency official was alerted about an adult that jumped into the lagoon. After the alert, some officials, including divers, were deployed to ensure he was rescued. We achieved the aim but he was unconscious when he was brought out.
“Unfortunately, during the process of resuscitating him, he passed on. His remains has been handed over to the State Environment Health Management Unit, SEHMU.

Technocrime Nigeria Limited. The owner and his management team are fraudulent in nature to members of staff of the organisation. They owe you 2 months plus salary and deduct from the arrears for any little mistake no matter how small the error is. The F word is used on you by the owner and very senior management. Staff are dismissed over flimsy reasons, and are not paid when dismissed. You have to wait months after dismissal with plenty calls to the HR for your owed salaries to be paid. Every week, the owner of the company takes home 400k as director's weekend allowance, and staff are owed for months. Also every week, the owner collects entertainment allowance for his office refreshments.

You have not been paid getting close to 3 months, you then see a cash payment voucher for dog food worth 50k. That is the dog at the main gate and the ones at Oga's house. This is collected every 2 weeks. You will see the half bag of rice and cartons of turkey and chicken, they want to buy for the dogs. My guy, you go mad.

The place is a white sepulchre. Fine outside, but a grave inside.

Before the petty cash is approved to run operations like transport fare for staff going to the bank to deposit money, mehn na war. You have to use the money out of your own pocket or you will be sacked if the task is not done without any benefits no matter the years you have worked in the organisation.

They pay peanuts to both administrative staff and the security guards men. If not for UBA, that uses the guards of the company, the organisation would have been dead by now.

That place is hell on earth.

Bridge international academies brought into Nigeria by American philanthropists to help offer cheap and quality education yet they pay18k salary with fake pension scheme and u work from 7:10 to 5:20pm. As a teacher u r not allowed to take extra lessons, nor collect gifts from parents. When my academy protested against low staff welfare and refused to teach, we were fined, warned and salary deducted. Yet those who run this academies in Nigeria are young ladies who earn crazy salaries who if I see on the street I can't call 'Aunty'... we live in a failed system. I have had crazy experiences but I can't say them all.
