Politics › Re: Atiku Tackles FG Over ‘Hack’ Of NBS Website by Esthered: 7:19am On Dec 20, 2024 |
People are asking him to go and rest. We should be more concerned about the information the NBS will be releasing going forward. E.g telling us that December inflation is 0.01% or they stop releasing data entirely. Shouldn't we be asking Nuhu Ribadu how come we have the nos reported, the police, army, navy and airforce team what they're doing about it. It should call for sober reflection as anyone of us here can be a victim of kidnapping one day |
Crime › Re: Update: Lady Stole Visually-Impaired Anambra Widow’s ATM Card, Emptied Account by Esthered: 7:05pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
Banks don't give visually impaired ATM cards. If the customers insist, an indemnity form must be executed to absolve the bank. I always advise aging people, add one of your trusted children as an additional signatory to your account. Desist from using a debit card if you're visually impaired is what I also advise. Go to the banking hall and get the money and not ATM as someone may take advantage of you. Where was the security personnel manning the ATM point as he ought to have guided her or send he into the banking hall |

tropaz: NNPC and Total energy rejected my very intelligent wife because she is 30 years old.
Kindly note;
My wife graduated with Second class upper Hons (4 Point something)
MBA Marketing option
Has over 4 years work experience as a Commercial assistant
SAP certified
Interned at an international airport
Now back to school to get her MBA certificate due to unemployment.
Welcome to Nigeria, where you spend millions on education and have nothing to show for it... You didn't tell us when she graduated sir. In 2019 I was not qualified for NNPC because I graduated in 2013 but I was within the required age. She didn't meet age requirements as there's age to grade in standard coys. |

I was asking myself, who made them underdeveloped. The region is against tax reforms and any forward thinking reforms. They're called educationally disadvantaged state and their political class doesn't call it an SOS situation. Dan Bello who had been advocating for them is EDUCATED. The money spent and looted on insecurity that should have been channeled to education and proper development should stop imo. The south is literally working for them. |

dominique: I hate it when people use the word elope in place of escape or abscond. To elope means escaping to get married but olodo Nigerian journalists use it frequently in place of escape. I thought journalists studied English language to an advanced level.
@topic I don't know if he's the same person as the notorious ketu developer that collected rents from over 100 people and absconded, a couple of nairalanders were affected and the case made news. The victims got him arrested and he was swiftly released (he has a lot of connections). He went on to build another house in Ikorodu and defrauded hundreds of people again. People like that deserve nothing less than 25 years in jail or better yet die in jail like the one in Ilorin. Heartless sets of people I think the journalist was quoting verbatim what the person said. |

Acidosis: Yes. Too many fictitious figures. I believe that many of the diagnosed cases lack merit. Even if there was such a thing as a coronavirus from China, the majority of reported cases were fraudulent. It's not worth describing as a "pandemic."
At the end of the scamdemic, we were told only 3.4% of reported cases died. Meanwhile, there are several other infectious, communicable diseases with far-reaching implications and higher death rates. Many of these diseases are more prevalent in Africa, so no one cares. I had someone that worked in a private hospital that was in partnership with the LASG and she saw people have complications leading to their death as most had underlying ailments. Even a co owner of Paystack lost his dad to it in that hospital. |

Acidosis: Good question, hehe...
That means we can't blame the banks, but we also can't blame Fintechs because they paved the way for a true cashless economy, but how far have we gone in this journey towards achieving a true cashless economy? The growing number of POS agents Naira traders/sellers points to major implementation gaps. I don't think POS was designed for selling cash. Naira traders Financial inclusion was the intent but the agents turned the cash to goods they trade with. |
Business › Re: How To Report Cash Scarcity at ATMs, Banks To CBN by Esthered: 7:50pm On Dec 04, 2024 |
Acidosis: The bigger problem is that banks have stopped mounting new ATMs and bank branches. Even in Lagos State, majority of the residential areas do not have banks/ATMs. They've failed to evolved with people's preferences. You can't have your banks and ATMs in places majority of your customers can no longer afford to live/do business.
We need to explore other avenues because POS is certainly not the way. Buying Naira with Naira can never be a mainstay in a modern world. Why should they be investing in brick and mortar when Fintechs offer almost same services with no branches? |

It's still prevalent among us.
When you report issues to our parents that should be handled objectively, the next thing you hear is "ado mkpo ifot" meaning it's as a result of witchcraft.
Lazy parents will have children they can't cater for and blame them for their financial misfortune then go to mushroom churches who tell to do assignments and then reveal that the children are witches and should be dealt with.
My mum sent away one of her nannies she got for me when I was a toddler that she was a witch. Every Calabar and AKS person has experienced it either directly or indirectly.
I had an uncle who refused to go about his bus business daily claiming that my aunt's maid was a witch that prevented the vehicle from working. The girl was sent away. Baba still refused to go to work daily years later and has no one to blame. The wife now admits that he's truly lazy instead.
Witchcraft claims are common among the poor not the rich most times. |

blacksam01: Again, with the same pattern,. The president jets out , his policy makers go straight to NASS to argue out a previously rejected tax bill... The Senate president (his henchman) and his gang of NASS members are all alert to help him. Push through a very implicating tax reform on guess who..?
U! I mean you!!! You that is pressing his phone and reading this and behaving as though it's not your concern... See, u will be taxed to penury...
The president's team are quick to defend that the tax is not for the poor, but for the high income earners... And they illustrated that it will fall upon person's earning from 1million naira annually and above...
Now let's get our calculators out... Do u know if u earn a paltry 85k monthly, u will have crossed the 1milkion naira annual earning mark... So that is to say, the tax is for everyone.. cuz I know ordinary supervisor at any fast food earn that....
Brace up for tpain 2.0 I have to listen again. I thought I heard 1m monthly. |

Acidosis: "Weight gain" pap is basically just the regular pap mixed with some blended proteins like crayfish, and that is absolutely fine. Some vendors just slap fancy names on it to lure buyers. I'm not saying some of them don't add harmful chemicals, but that's another issue entirely.
The real problem many haven't seen here is mothers feeding 2-month-old babies with foods that are meant for older babies. It’s c r a z y how far some women will go with this competitive thing.
The same m a d n e s s drives some women to buy bleaching creams for their babies. Before organic, you were naturally dark, you love and married a dark man, but somehow, you want a fair-skinned baby for the ops? Make it make sense. You dey whine genetics?? You see babies with dark knuckles. |
